Which phones are similar to the X2? - Motorola Droid X2

I'm looking for a Gingerbread AOSP stock ROM to attempt to port over and I'm not sure which phones are similar (Other than the Atrix, Photon, & the XOOM of course).

ASOP stock ROM is contradicting one another. If you want something to play with, I believe Peperm1nt posted a thread inn the Android Development section, good luck...

[Q] webtop alternative for cm users?

If I ever want to use CM 7 or CM 9 when it comes out the official one through the atrix dev team I will miss web top is there any alternatives to motorola web top other then flashing a blur based rom?
Unfortunately Webtop is a Motorola-specific feature. Because Cyanogen is focused on a broad range of devices, it is doubtful that one would ever be released for it officially. Because of groups like the Atrix dev team, there are at least people trying to find a solution, but it's going to be quite a feat to do so. I may be wrong, but I have never seen a solution on any of the various development boards (here or elsewhere) that would bridge that gap.
Hi!
Take a look at Ubuntu install guide apk in market (no links, sorry). There also a thread at themes&app section. Good way to have ubuntu in Atrix. Unfortunatly since cm7 only have hdmi out in portrait, it doesnt work well that way. The dev of this app is really helpful, so think about buying the apk if you like it ;-)

[Q] What's your favorite ICS based rom so far? Phone-Bricker vs ShoStockv2 vs CM9

I switched from iPhone to Android last August and have been running UnNamed ever since. I love the android. I had wanted to re-flash it with a ICS ROM, but can't find many screenshots of how each rom looks like.
I noticed that the kernel was released for ICS 4.0.3 and lots of ROMS now have this in it.
Can any of you that have tried more than one of these roms comment on which rom you think is better? I'm not sure how to tell the roms apart from each other yet :/
I found and am deciding b/w these: SHOstockv2 ICS, CM9 (Not actual 4.0.3 ICS?), and Phone-Bricker.
I'm looking for a cool-looking ROM with lots of features. Those are my only requirements really when I look for roms.
Thanks guys!
Hi. We're not going to do vs. threads on new roms that have just come out or have been here for awhile.
Every phone is slightly different and what works great for you may not for the next person. The best bet is for everyone toy the roms for themselves and see what works best for them.
The reason we dont have these vs. threads is because it can very easily (and has in the past) turned into flame wars... because when one person says "I didnt like so-and-sos rom so I moved to this rom" its inadvertently putting down the work of that dev and his rom. It may not be intentional, but it happens. So to avoid that, we just dont do it.

[Q] LG E-739 ROMs

I'll preface my post by stating that I'm fairly certain that no stable ROMs yet exist for this device; the only thing I've seen anyone running is CM7, and that still appears to be in development for the E-739.
That said, I'm coming to this phone (temporarily) from an HTC Sensation, which I love dearly. Going back to Gingerbread from a stable ICS ROM is frustrating, to say the least. The interface feels very dated, and I'm not a fan of the dock that LG implemented for the device. I'd like to be able to select which applications are in the dock, as with ICS. Ideally, I'd like to find a compatible ICS ROM. Based on hours of searching, one doesn't exist, but it can't hurt to ask.
So: has anyone had any success getting an ICS ROM on the LG E-739? Or perhaps a passable Gingerbread ROM? I really just need to rid myself of the ludicrous amount of bloatware that currently inhabits my applications folder... Thanks in advance!

[Q] How far have custom firmware come on the SIII so far?

Hello.
So I just ordered a GSIII and it will probably arrive in a day or two.
Until then I decided to try learn everything about this phone (or at least as much as possible)
Here some simple(maybe) questions I have.
How far are they with the custom ROMs? I saw there are quite a lot of them so far but the once I looked on (based on jellybeans) where still having camera problems and a few other minor issues. Are there any stable custom roms where almost everything works?
Another question is. I saw there is a normal android dev sub forum and a new one called "original android dev"
I guess the first one is dev projects based on samsungs official ROM while the other one is for dev project based on AOSP?
What's the pros/cons for each? I guess the AOSP roms don't have the video window playing while doing other stuff and maybe not the galaxy beam thingy?
Also I have been pretty much dead on this forum for half a year.
Tried to do a comback two months ago but my Desire got bricked I think since it completely died during change of hboot.
Anything groundbreaking I have missed in the world of android the past half year (I already know about the most common things like the major things JellyBean brings but not all of the details)

Why isn't there a better Rom List?

Is there a reason I have to search for roms with HDMI compatibility? Can we have a list of fully functional roms please?
Sent from my DROID XT912 Maxxed Out!
Well, get to steppin' son! Somebody's got to do it!
I think the problem is- developers *generally* only worry about their ROM; users only need the ROMs they are interested in (usually Tier 1- CM, AOKP, Paranoid Android), and very few people have gone through a plethora of ROMs and used them enough to develop an opinion, "just cause".
Oh, and you're in the Q&A forum... not the Development forum.
I am asking why, because I assumed that there might be a reason. Asking a question and seeking an answer. XT910 ROM users have a list. If it's simply because no one has done it yet...maybe I'll try to put something together.

If I recall, isn't 1080p recording and HDMI a problem on all CM based roms? Somthing to do with the CM source?
If you really want HDMI, you could learn to program, debug, and troubleshoot, making that awesome fix and glow in the approval of grateful razr users!
I apologize, I guess I misunderstood the context of the question. I wasn't aware there were HDMI output issues on ROMs, so I did some research.
There is a dev over at droidrzr.com who attempted to troubleshoot, and it looks like there is a source/signature problem with non-stock based ROMs, I assume because Motorola hasn't released the source code required. Doesn't look like there are any ROMs that aren't stock based that have any HDMI or Webtop support.
Annnnd, here is the same posting on XDA:

Yeah i was reading that, if I knew a lick of C I'd help. So basically it's verification for some moto stuff, and kernel issues, and people are working on it, which is good!
