[Q] Pansi Plugin problem? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed the Individual Settings plugin for Pansi SMS app on my GS2, however it does not change the notification sound for selected contacts. The notification icon and privacy notification settings work fine, just not the sound (instead it plays the app's default notification tone). What to do?
(If It helps, I noticed that pansi was having trouble with multiple sms apps on my phone and started receiving double texts, i have uninstalled all other apps since then, that fixed the double text problem.)

[Q] Handcent messed up my notifications!!!

I have a strange problem. I had handcent installed, but it became laggy and I installed GoSms. I liked that better and I uninstalled handecnt.
The minute I did that, sms sound of notifications on GoSms went gone!
And I tried reinstalling it.... nothing,
I turned back on stock notifications, and they work normal (for stock messages, not GoSms)
I tried installing back handcent, but still no notification sound in GoSms, I don't understand!
I also installed some sound managers and what ever I do when handcent's notifications are disabled, all notifications are muted and you can't turn them back on what ever I do...
Help!
Stock notification for messaging only works on that app.
Maybe you can check the notification settings of Go SMS app itself.
After couple of hours I found the solution...I had to get my notification ringtone in system ringtones in GoSms, not in music (I selected the same mp3...),
stupid app...

sms notification sound only playing default

I've selected a certain sms notification sound through messaging but when i recieve a text message it plays the default notification sound. i've also noticed when i go into the messaging settings and try to change the sound it jumps from default notification to whatever sound i selected on its own. any help would be great
now it seems that my phone picks which sounds to play. its only in messaging though
there seems to be similar issues that other people and myself seem to be having with email notification

Handcent Notifications

I'm having trouble with Handcent and notifications - namely double notifications with the stock Messaging app (even when everything is checked off in the ATT app) and then the Handcent app can't wake the phone, just makes the alert sound, of which there's two separate notice sounds.
ALSO, no red dot notification on the HC widget using Go Launcher EX with Go Notification installed. Any ideas?
just go into the stock messaging app and turn off notifications...... i had to do it, and had to do it with gosms.
yes.. go into default messaging text app click menu,,scroll to bottom and disable notifications......then in handcent click menu>Applications setting> Default Messaging application >Allow All Sms & Mms ,for default..

[Q] Automatically clear notifications

I've been google'ing and puzzling for hours to get something like this to work.
Basically the whole idea is:
I'm using MissedIt! and i only want to see these notifications.
I can disable SMS notifications by it's settings, but it automatically disables sound notifications too, which i don't want.
I cannot disable missed call notification by any setting.
I can use Tasker to clear the sms and missed call notifications automatically by simply opening the phone log / sms app and retuning back to the home screen, but then the MissedIt! notifications are ofcourse also gone ;-).
So, basically; i no longer want to see notification texts/icons in the status bar, but i still wanna hear the notification sounds.
When i clear the message from the notification bar, MissedIt! still shows a missed 'event', which i want.
How on earth, are these notifications to be stopped / cleared, automatically!??
Any Tasker idea's for this one?

bumpppppppp
This is possible if you flash a 4.1 rom. Go to settings -> apps -> click on the app -> uncheck enable notifications.

[Q] Messaging Apps - QuickReply

Using the quick reply option on any of the popular sms apps (Go, Handcent, Pansi, even SMS Popup) results in the LED continuing to blink. The only way to get it to stop is either open the messaging app or pulldown the notification bar. I have disabled the notifications as well as LED for the stock messaging app. In the sms apps I have selected the "closing popup marks read" options as well. I've read around and I've seen that it seems to be a general problem with the way sense interacts with these apps.
Any ideas?
I have LED turned off for SMS... I use Handcent and a app called SMS Popup.
When I get SMS messages, most of the time, I just close them in the SMS Popup. If I hit Reply and reply, the LED never goes on.
Is there a benefit to having two sms apps that do the same thing?
