My Note is talking to me - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Every time I unlock my phone, I have a lovely female british voice (svox with Victoria-UK) telling my the time and weather. I can't figure out what setting is doing this. It's starting to drive me crazy. I don't want to shut the voice off totally, just for this function. I have beautiful live wallpaper running. I just switched to static picture wallpaper. It's still talking to me. Any suggestions?

You have Driving Mode enabled and have set the option to read the time when you unlock.
Check Settings -> Voice input and output -> Text-to-speech settings -> Driving mode, and Driving mode settings.

Help enabling Tasker Bluetooth [on] Wifi [off] Bright [Auto] profile for docking

I thought I had tasker figured out, but can't seem to get Bluetooth to come on, or wifi to shut off, or screen brightness to switch to AUTO when I plug into my car dock.
I have the first part set right, I believe. I have the Profile turn green (activating) when "Docked" [car]. This seems to work. However none of my tasks work. I have it set to Auto Brightness [on], Bluetooth [on] and WiFi [off].
I also had exit tasks, which were the opposite of above (Auto Brightness [off], Bluetooth [off] and WiFi [on]).
These have no effect, but tasker does prevent my car panel from launching, which I like. Any advice?
Well, it seems that I can't launch apps via tasker widgets either. Seems like nothing I set for tasker to actually DO works. However, the conditions seem to be met (the profile names turn green). Can anyone assist?
Not sure whats going on with yours. You don't seem to be alone though. I would try to go to Apps > Tasker, clear all data/cache.
Then make a simple task. Like mute when you hit volume down button.
Here is a profile you can import to do everything you wanted:
hxxp://db.tt/CGT4WFI
State: Docked [Car]
Enter
1. Load App - Set: Car Panel
2. WiFi - Set: Off
3. Bluetooth - Set: On
4: Auto Brightness - Set: Off
Exit
1. Kill App - Set: Car Panel
2. WiFi - Set: On
3. Bluetooth - Set: Off
4: Auto Brightness - Set: On

I'll try clearing data/cache on it and see if that helps. As for your profile, thank you. I'll give it a shot later today. If it works, I will tweak it though.. I actually prefer the car panel to stay off.
Would be cool if on "Docked", it could switch to a different Sense "Theme" I created just for being in the car. This theme could have links to whatever I wanted on the home screens, instead of the default car dock stuff. Know of a way to do that?
if tasker can change sense home screens after certain conditions i may have to reconsider my potential purchase haha, that would be awesome.
I haven't found a way to do that. Also, I can't get tasker to perform any actions anyway... Don't know what's going on.

The only way I know of to do that is to load multiple launchers. Set each one up for a new environment, then make a rule to open that one.

Small display menu on top of my phone

Ok guys I don't know what happened I was plugging my phone into my xbox to stream some movies and a small display popped up on top by the clock menu ect.
It shows P; 0/1 dx, dy, xy, xv, prs and size. all with numbers after them. I tried to restart it but it's still there. Any ideas of what went wrong?

Go to Settings -> Developer Options and make sure Pointer Location is unchecked. That should solve it!

[SOLVED] Turn off suggestions from settings in Nougat?

I really don't need to dismiss "on body location" yet one more time. Is there a way to turn off these things that appear unbidden at the top of Settings?
I'd like to stop these annoying messages too. Anyone know how to turn them off?

It took me awhile, but I think I've come across the solution.
First, you need to set up some kind of screen lock (not just swipe). I just used a "z" pattern. Next, tap on that annoying nag at the top of settings. This will lead you to some blah-blah. You need to enable this useless feature (which probably does not work on the NT anyway....) and then reboot.
Return to Settings>Security and look for "Smart Lock". Disable on-body-location. Now go back to your screen lock setting and return it to what it was (swipe, in my case). Reboot.
So essentially you need to enable the feature, reboot, disable the feature, reboot, and you're good to go.
Go to Settings and if the nag is still there use the three dots to banish it. It's gone for good
That worked. Thanks a ton for the tip!

Google Assistant Ambient Mode

Hey Guys, I've bought the phone a week a go and I really like it. I would like to turn on Google Assistant Ambient Mode but i don't see the option toggle. Are there alternatives or maybe a way to turn it on?
If you open the Google app,
go to settings,
then choose Google assistant,
then the assistant tab,
scroll down to devices and choose phone,
turn on option under voice match.
Done! :good:
(Hopefully I understood your question correctly. Lol)
Thank you for your reply! I dont see ambient mode toggle.
I found a screenshot online to explain what i mean:

Ah! Ok, now I understand. And yeah, ambient mode has only rolled out to a small number of phone models, and there's no word that I found on when or if it's coming to LG devices.
We have always on display (AOD), but it's not the same at all. And there may be apps that can do something similar maybe, but I haven't seen any myself.

S9+ cannot access accessiblity

Everything is up to date as of the time of this posting.
When I go to settings I see accessibility I click on it and nothing happens it will not open. It has opened in the recent past. I'm trying to get in there to see if there's a setting that will help me with another problem which is that anytime I use speech to text swear words are suddenly censored. F***.previously I have kept all of the buttons on the do not hide offensive words setting. And those settings are still in the off position.
This happens whether I'm using Google assistant or any of the keyboards I have installed.
Thanks for your time
