S9+ cannot access accessiblity - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Everything is up to date as of the time of this posting.
When I go to settings I see accessibility I click on it and nothing happens it will not open. It has opened in the recent past. I'm trying to get in there to see if there's a setting that will help me with another problem which is that anytime I use speech to text swear words are suddenly censored. F***.previously I have kept all of the buttons on the do not hide offensive words setting. And those settings are still in the off position.
This happens whether I'm using Google assistant or any of the keyboards I have installed.
Thanks for your time

Default softkeys on WM6.1's messaging client

The new messaging client is driving me batty. Two major issues:
(1) Delete is the default left softkey when a message arrives?!? Lost more than a few messages this way. Is there a reg entry to change this?
(2) Dismiss, which should be the default and easiest option, takes using the Menu right softkey, navigating up, and selecting it. And it doesn't mark the message read! That has to be a bug, but can it be fixed?
When i get a Text the left soft key is reply. the right soft key has always been that menu button and seems to be fine...
You're probably right, but in that case I believe Delete is still the default option when Menu is selected, and Dismiss still doesn't mark the message as read.
It driving me crazy too ! Palm messagin was so much better ...
Resurrecting this thread. Need to know if I can change the left soft-key in the messaging app to something other then "Delete"
Please let me know, thanks!
Got the same issue, google and saw this thread. Any update or solution? Driving me crazy too

[Q] Screen wake with notification

So I have searched and searched... and this seems to be a very random "issue". Some people have it.. some do not.
Every time I get a new notification, the screen wakes up/comes up. Stays on for about 5 seconds... then goes back off. I have found only one thread on the issue here, in the T-Mobile section. But it did not really go any farther:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291453
I do not want this. I have an LED for this. How do I turn this off... or what do I need to do to make this not happen anymore? This is the only thing I do not like about the phone (and my friend has an S4 on Sprint and this doesnt happen to him). It is as if the phone things the S-Cover is on and is displaying the message for me through the "window".
Go into your messaging app and hit the menu button, then go into settings. There should be an option called "Wake Screen" or something along those lines. Uncheck it and you should be set. It may come pre-checked for T-Mobile and Verizon devices but not others, just a thought.

Sadly I have no option like that.
If you are rooted, you can use Xposed to show that option: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293956 (under applications, "Show screen on toggle"), then you can go to the messaging app and turn it off.

Help with app taking over lockscreen???

Yesterday for the first time I got a strange new lock screen I don't remember installing.... When my phone (Nexus 6) is plugged in, and I wake it up, at first I get my regular stock lock screen. But, when I unlock it, this new strange lock screen appears in its place (the first image - which says at the top "0 Words typed today" and "1% beat global users.") When I tap the three-dot menu in the top right, I get the second screen (says "Boost Charge" and gives me option to uncheck.)
Does anyone recognize this? I guess it's possible it's malware of some kind but I am generally pretty careful. It seems like typing stats, but I only have google keyboard, swiftkey and touchpal installed, and none of those seem to be causing this as far as I can tell.
I would like to avoid a factory reset if I can help it, but I don't like the idea of something I didn't choose being on my phone..... Any help as to how this got here?
Same thing happened to me.
Found out it's SwiftKey. Wasn't even using it, so I just uninstalled it.

I've got the exact same thing. Annoying as hell. Don't have SwiftKey installed. Mine I believe is coming from TouchPal.
I got this to stop without uninstalling TouchPal. In TouchPal settings, go into General Settings and disable Daily Summary, which causes another annoying pop-up screen once a day. Then click on Power Boost and disable that. Exit, exit, exit.
I think the Power Boost, um, feature? is causing those random pop-ups.
Hope this helps somebody else. The keyboard itself is pretty good, so I'm sure some people won't want to uninstall it.

Yep, it's TouchPal. I found the Boost Charge one, but hadn't noticed the separate Daily Summary setting-thanks for the heads up.

Oreo for the LG v30 LG H932 nearly perfect.

Finally got it all dialed up, the phone responds to what amounts to a two-factor authentication, (I say OK Google, and then it wakes up the screen waiting for my secret LG voice lock phrase) which suits me fine, the camera takes picture with no hesitation when given the proper voice commands, the manual mode on hi def rocks visually, and I recreated my totally invisible desktop, all black with hidden black buttons all of which I know the precise location of.
I have only had the phone freeze up, during sessions with google assistant. I don't know what that is about.
And there are two new annoying things I can't stand and will look for a way to get rid of.
1: I use Exdialer, and Google Keyboard and get a constant notification webout both, "Exdialer is using battery" (Duh) and "Change keyboard" when I don't want to change the damned keyboard.
I went to notifications for both these apps and thought I set exdialer to "No notifications" both it and the "change keyboard" notices are constantly on my desktop.
2: When I use some apps, the google keyboard voice input only enters 50% of what I say. Sometimes it just stands there acting dumb. Or maybe that's me. Lol.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You can also long press on the notification itself when it appears and it will take you to those settings, which I quickly switched off.

Oh man, the voice-to-text thing is bugging the hell out of me haha, it's not just you. It works about half the time and just sits there and times out the other half. Annoying!

Something draws over my screen all the time

Hi, I am absolutely unable to enable or disable notifications while on website - I just cannot tap it at all. I have no idea why and tried many solutions. I stopped all apps, disabled drawing over screen, but yet no luck.
I also tried this Determine which app is drawing on top of other apps? and well... there's only one line, mOwnerUid=1000 mShowToOwnerOnly=false package=com.android.systemui appop=SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
But I cannot disable that.
Any ideas? I am really desperate Thanks!
