Hi everybody, as you all, I noticed that in last weeks de cooking machine of Cooper ROMs is increasing faster... well, as my low knowledge about this cience, and thanks to all I could have learned on this forum, I have to confess something... I miss Odin, and I miss to be informed about the newest basebands of ACE.
When I was young, there were discussions about KPN, KPH.. the pros and cons of each ones... now that seems forget for all of us, and specially for me.
Then, this is my main question: which baseband do you recommand me for CM 7.2 and for CM 9¿¿¿
Thanks for advice, and feel free to explain me how basebands influde on phone performance... if it really does.

So it seems like everybody goes crazy when it comes to the porting of CM7. But why?
I got my hands on a SGS2 with CM7 installed. Tried it, experienced it a little. From what I experienced the CM7 wasnt something that special. I asked the owner of the phone what he though of the ROM. To my surprise he said "it's just a ROM". He also mentioned that the stock ROM was smoother.
So now I'm wondering, why all the fuzz? What are you expecting from CM7? What makes it so special and so popular?
I'm pretty sure that a lot of people who craves for the porting of CM7 has no clue of this.
(off topic: tbh, i'd rather prefer MIUI.)
edit: for the interface
My sister's Backflip has CyanogenMod 7 installed with 2.3.3 (Not even Froyo is released in Asia-Pacific regions) , it allows her to have OC/UV kernels from 600Mhz to 748Mhz . Her phone is wayyyyy less laggier than stock .(the difference is obviously obvious)
I'm not really good on those areas but arent you able to do that using SetCPU?

he said using oc/uv.. his sister device only support 600mhz by default, but because she uses custom oc/uv kernel, she can achieve 748mhz with help of setcpu. it depends on clock stepping that were supported by kernel, not by setcpu. setcpu only help to configure those clock stepping
Oh, never knew about that. From my use of SGA 800mhz is doing alright.
And as I mentioned, not really good at those areas so I didnt even know that "oc/uv" was overclock and undervolt xD
Some bugs fixed are gonna be fixed in CM. Camera quality should be bit better. Theme engine is built into ROM, so there will be much more themes for SGA. Im also excited about haptic feedback (not sure about this one).
And much more...
What i wish most for, is fix for SoD...

I'm not really excited for cyanogenmod, but for MIUI. I want it so bad!
MiUi is cyanogen based, if I'm not wrong.
First off I'm sure in cm there will be accurate battery reporting. No ****ty jumps in percentage.
Second, if CM is under way I believe developers will include uv, through kernels or modules. Overclocking though, may not be necessary.
Other than that the rom has so many tweaks. Over time and development CM will make our original firmware outmoded because it WILL get smoother.

Speed, stability, power, eyecandy, etc, etc.
But most of all; bugfixes and much more stability compared to stock firmware, as it is said that CM7 is build from the ground up so in my eyes it won't or even can't have the flaws that stock has.
Hey, it's only my opinion.
i think it`s only way to forget about SODs
Cyanogen is popular for a few reasons. It incoporates most worthwhile mods and runs normaly as well if not better than stock. Plus for me on a personal view it will help to get miui for sga.

You gave me a reason to wait for CM7 (Y)
hahaha..if you want to know..CM is a special ROM I guess, more unlock option on kernel than stock ROM, so I can say CM is a very customizing ROM.
for a prove, u can use an app called Tasker, on that app u can get more customized settings if u using CM.
CMIIW. sorry bad english
Hi guys,
I have just registered to this great site!
Can you please inform me which is the best custom ROM for my ace?
I need a stable and fast ROM!!
Thank you in advance!
theres no such thing as "the best rom". it really depends on ur preference.
i might be mistaken my friend. I am new and i don't know much from roms!
I need my phone to be fast and stable!
With the standard ROM many applications lag so i would like to avoid these lags!
Witch Rom would you suggest?
uranus.
Seriously.
I'm kinda tired of this kind of question, because it's one of the most common questions, so you could just search it on the forum.
Anyways, you'll have to try it yourself, everyone likes different things. I'm using GingerReal. Other preffer Gslmt, cm7 beta or whatever.
Read a little more.
well, if u need stock rom function try custom rom based on stock. or if u wanna try aosp rom try cm7. but cm build for ace is still not that stable. u might stumble a problem/bugs here and there. for stock based rom, i highly suggest blackhawk by ketut.kumajaya
I suggest that you let your lazy ass read the forums.

Well currently I'm using the BehradGH's CM7 and also I have used many other ROMS like FirstUA v.1.2, Coderom, GingerReal, SanGingerAce and also Grif's CM7.. All those ROMS are really great and every ROM has its pros and cons.. So it all depends on your preference.. Even I'm a newb to the Android world.. So the best way to find out would be to try out all the ROMS out there and select what matches your requirements.. Also go through the comments because some of the feedbacks are really useful..

Yeah , you should try out but with caution !
as you may brick it or something.
hi. i wanna try the BehradGH's CM7.
are chinese and italian available?
there are big problems in the rc1 version?
Well RC1 is far from being a real Release Candidate, it's more like a advanced Beta.
Compass and FM is not working yet and you might encounter some bugs now and then.
It's just something between funny and sad to see flashing newbies struggling with CM7.
Apart from that, Chinese and Italian is avaible.
Well, for now, it seems all roms are (overall) the same: the same functionalities but under different names, some are aimed for speed and stability others just are eye candy.
I would recommend trying fla.shX2 and SanGingerAce. While I have tried the first one but not the latter, try and go ahead. Just remember to backup!
CWM back up will be your friend if you kinda flash and jump and compare 1 rom to another..^^
Hey stop asking such question again n again...xda wont allow any comparasion btw ROMs...so pls dont reply...this thread will close in few moment...

Hey x10 people, I don't have a clue about this phone, but a friend has an x10a on Fido network. It is getting old and slow, is there any roms that you can point us in the direction of that would breathe some new life into his phone?
Does cyanogenmod have a rom made? Or anything with ICS?
Thanks in advance for any info!

Hey,
yes there are many Roms that let your X10 fly high :=)
I suggest you : DonutHD( my Sig) MIUI, Feralab( Gaming experience + fast ) Cyanogenmod D= Just loook in the developer thread, and search for this names.
Wish you a happy flashing
But be careful you can easily get flashaholic
Addiction risk is high
If I were you,Id look into
unlocking bootloader
doomkernel 1113
donut new rom
The donut thread is only 80 odd posts long,so it dont take long to see bugs/fixes.Youll see what I mean if you install some other roms that have 2000 posts to look through
Thanks! As I said I have no clue about this phone, it seems more complicated than my nexus s. I will look those up and pass on the info. I am sure we will be back for more info!

After moving an E10i from 1.6 to CM9 I notice it's pretty good, but wondering if it could be better, from a performance perspective. I believe it's a manufacture year 10 and not 11 if that makes any difference.
Q: which ROM is known for best performance? Please feel free to link to an existing thread and don't assume that the latest and greatest is the fastest performer.
My goal is to give this little, unique phone to my 13 year old son, who texts a lot. So lagging while typing a mile a minute is not a good thing.
I don't have any preference to CM vs SE as the goal is performance. Although, I'd prefer a ROM that is not locked down or branded to an operator and which utilizes a touch qwerty keyboard instead of T9 predictive numeric.
Thanks to all for sharing your experiences.
