Hi,
First of all I've done a lot of searching and no success on how to do it, if possible.
I have a SGSII rooted(CF-Root) with CheckROM RevoHD V4 and ICS Domination Theme.
I wanted to know, how can i restore back entirely to stock and be able to do normal kies updates since a co-worker is buying my phone full price but with the condition i take it back entirely to stock.
I already did a firmware restore following this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
But although it doesn't seem to be rooted anymore Baseband Version and Kernel Version say different things and Build Number says CheckROM RevoHD V4, and the Domination Theme is still applied.
If there is a way to do what i want to do I would appreciate any help.
Thank you in advance.
The flash didn't work properly.
What worked for me only a few weeks ago was....
Using CWM format internal SD.
Using Odin flash stock firmware.
Using jig reset flash counter.
Everything was back to how it bought it.
Should be all you need to do.

Well im going to try that tonight but ill have to reflash cwm since i dont have it anymore for some reason
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
you gotta wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache
then grab a stock rom and flash it with odin, use intratech post under original android dev forum, with that you will lose everything and have a stock rom/modem/kernel
cheers
You can just delete the contents of internal SD instead of formatting. I just formatted to make it easier.
Like said about do a factory reset/wipe before flashing with Odin if your downgrading.
Hope it all goes well for you.

Ok I'm downloading one firmware from north america in that i think is not branded since my SGS2 it's suppose to be the international and I'm going to reinstall cf-root to have clockwork again and do it all over...
Only have to flash a cfroot kernel to temporarily have CWM. Not whole Rom if you just want to format etc.
Then flash a whole new stock Rom to reset to that version.

Hi! I have the Erygit ROM on my SGP 5.0 (with the physical button in the middle) how can i go back to Android 2.3.5?Can somebody help me?Thank you for your help

See which one of the files fits your device. I think it's the international EU version for you.
thank you. i flashed it but i got into bootloop... tried to go to recovery... in the recovery i got many red lines (errors i think) about cache files or something like that.what should i do now?
Wait hold on I tried to flash Erygits ROM with ODIN but it failed and I soft-bricked it. I don't know what to do, I'm looking for solutions.
Well... Looks like we both need a solution :s

I couldn't get out of my soft-brick. Every thing I did resulted in a FAIL in Odin.
So i reset data and wiped everything and then it just booted.
Unfortunately I lost everything. Luckily I made a back-up, but somehow my contacts were removed from KIES
So i have to back up up everything and after flashing the rom , wipe cache and do a factory reset?

Well I don't know if you had, but I softbricked my player so I did a desperate thing by removing all data and cache. Then it was fine. I still have my music, photo's and video's though and my contacts (google contacts).
But I'm not sure about you. Look for bootloop threads on this forum, maybe you will find help?
I will try to help you too.
well i decided to flash Erygits rom one more time, then it booted i think i'll leave it until ICS is released or CM7 do you have the stock rom on your Player?
Yes I have the stock rom now.
And I think it's a good idea to just leave it untill cm9 comes out.
CM is going to be soooooooooo nice! can't wait to flash it
Do you guys have the INTL, EU or the US version?
You can't mix the ROMs between these ver. (especially the US ver, which is physically different - has capacitive home btn).
If you have a US device, than download this PIT, and this ROM, I installed it and works great, it's a rooted 2.3.6.
Hi!i have the eur version i think... With the physichal button in the middle

Is there any way to reset the phone completely, to be just like when i got it the first time? I have flashed hell of a lot of roms on it and now i would like to wipe the slate clean. Is there any way to do it? I know about factory reset. Is it enough for wiping the slate clean.
I don't know much about the software behind the processes and i would like to know if the phone is being damaged everytime i flash a new rom? And would flashing the stock rom reset all the system files?
And i confess, I am a noob. I would be happy if someone can point me in the right direction.
From what I understand if you wipe data, cache and dalik cache in cwr and flash the stock rom it souls be to wen you got it if you want more peace of mind flash it to a earlier rom and do I upgrade using your phones software program to the latest software there is no damage done, the only thing (well on my type of phone atleast) it might have a glad counter which tells hoe many times its bin flashed but I think that can be reset with a USB jig

Flash your carrier's offical rom from here via ODIN. Wipe data first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278.
Then you can use usb jib(if original was GB) or Chainfire's Triange away from Market to reset the counter.

major problem.
i flashed team perfection objection ics rom. felt that i wanted to go back to stock and thats when the problem showed up.
i havent flashed any other custom rom before the objection ics. i came from stock rooted telus.
tried flashing the tar file from this thread
[STOCK][ODIN][GB][Telus] For those who wish to revert to stock Telus
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27508953#post27508953
- sometimes odin freezes but when it doesnt and actually finishes flashing, phone wouldnt start up after the automatic reboot. (how long should i wait for the initial boot to start? i wait for about 2-3 minutes of nothing but black screen before resetting)
i tried flashing the backup files from this thread
[ROOT]For TELUS Note (i717D) - No Flash Counter
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585440&highlight=telus+rooted+system
- after flashing, boots but gets stuck at the "touch the android screen to begin"
anybody have an idea whats going on?
tried 2 different stock tar files through odin and i cant get any of them to work.
i flashed back to the objection rom through cwm to make sure that my phone isnt bricked or anything. seems to be working fine. havent tried any other custom roms though.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Hi you may have a partition that is corrapted or there may be something wrong with that telus Odin flash. Go to dev section. There is another Odin flash for telus. It is a stock telus rom rooted that is flashed through Odin. It does work, I hav e used: t before. I will send you a link when I get home from work.

I use to have a telus note now I have a rogers note. I may still have a back up of a telus rom. Will check my computure when I get home

I may have found your problem. When using Odin, and flashing a backup file, it does not format your phone partitions. So you first have to go into cwm and do a factory wipe, wipe dalvik and go into advance and wipe the other dalvik . Do a battery pull, and now put your phone into download for Odin. I have telus kernel, telus modem and telus stock recovery that can be flashed in cwm. Just not sure if I have the stock from still. Pm me if you have any questions
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Just a update wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache before you use Odin to flash a rom. I told you partly wrong in precise post

thanks for the help guys
thanks for the help guys.
i dont know if its a partition problem though but it really got me worried.
for some reason i got it to flash properly and it booted up with no problems.
now im thinking thats its the odin software that was causing the problems. the first one that i used to root my phone a couple of weeks back had an "evo 4g" title at the top. it didnt gave me any problems back then so i ignored it. and thats the same one ive been busting to use last night to flash back to stock. anyhow, i tried using a different odin3 that has "android+slp" label on it and i noticed that it was freezing less and actually finishes the flashing but the bootup still has some problems. i get stuck at the bootup logo for a couple of tries. after sometime i just flashed it over and over again until i hit the jackpot.
is there anyway that i can check if my partitions are still broken? im thinking that i wont be doing any flashing until the update comes in july. the ics roms arent stable enough for me anyway.
oh what do i do if wanna get the official ics update? i have stock system, i think, but its rooted. do i just flash stock kernel and unroot it?
i found an article in lockermikedotcom that allows you to unroot using a batchfile. i was wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction. thanks
If you have a stock rom but it is rooted, flashing a stock kernel usually does not remove root. You would have to install stock recovery first and then you adb to remove the superuser and busbox files from your phone to get it totally stock like it was before you rooted it. This batch file DooMLord_v1_unrooting_zip will unroot your phone .It work on the Rogers Note anyways. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7ysrb3v7tfu9t1a
Earlier today tried flashing an original firmware on my Galaxy S2 using this file GT-I9100_XEU_I9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XEULP5.tar. Everything passed through Odin but seems my device doesn't want to boot flashing this. I also installed the Litening_Rom_v6-1.tar.md5 after that and again didn't want to boot through Odin.
I did manage to get into CWM and restore a nandroid backup and it boots fine now.
I am selling my S2 tomorrow and wanted to put it back to stock. Is there any way through CWM to flash a stock rom and unroot as seems odin is causing problems. If the CWM way isn't possible can anyone point me in the right direction for an original rom that will work.
Any help appreciated.
By the way i am on an unbranded S2 form Uk.
When you were flashing in Odin did you flash the kernel, recovery and the system? Or just the system?

Just flashed the file above with the pda button. (Only gave me the .tar file)
It is caused by not making a wipe cache and data before flash. Before selling, format also /system. First of all reset counter with Triangle Away if not yet

Will this mthod take me back to stock after I have done it?
Use the Odin instructions from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487
Remember to select the PDA option, not other options on Odin. That should work without needing to format system, cache and dalvik cache. If it really doesn't work report here. And try to flash other Roms, like the NEE 4.0.4 (last one released).

With those steps you have an empty phone. If you flash a stock ROM you get your phone like when you bought it

If he wants to sell it, your steps will not be enough to reset the phone like if it was new

So yeah, my phone is like 2 years old and it started randomly shutting down. Before i go and buy a new battery, i thought i should put it back to complete stock (it is currentyl running siyah with some other mods and tweaks). Only way i remember to do this is by flashing a stock firmware through odin, i decided to do so but to my surprise nothing changed, i still had ALL my apps, SuperSu, extweaks and some other root/siyah-related stuff. how can i completely restore my phone back to complete stock ?
I repeat, flashing a stock firmware through odin didnt do the trick.
Thanks !
If you still have root, you can use Mobile Odin to flash a stock firmware.....it worked a charm for me

I think they were restored after u set up your google acount. If u had them backed on your acount automatcly install them after a google acount is inserted
Enter stock recovery and wipe data. Just make sure its safe for your rom to do so.
And at promp do not restore apps
Take care

Go to recovery mode and do wipe data /factory reset and then install the stock rom via recovery mode and then use odin to flash your stock kernel or you can use recovery mode once again to flash the kernel too.

I think they're meant to fool stock recovery into flashing a ROM (Because it thinks it's an update, you just have to rename it).
Check TiBu, you got an option to back your stuff into an "update.zip"
MO also allows you to flash one of those.
