[Q] beta 0.2.0 com.android.phone has stopped - Motorola Photon 4G

I've been using joker's beta 0.1.0 , it's awesome. Thanks to joker and his team. Moved to 0.2.0 , on bootup I get "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped". Anyone else getting this?

Did you wipe cache/dalvik cache before flashing up to new version? Thats pretty much the bare minimum, if you want to be sure you can format system data and caches.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I did wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache.

Sometime when I just wipe cache and dalvik cache I end up with little bugs like that when moving between beta versions, I usually just full wipe everything and I have NO issues with random reboots or random force closes. And I would sometimes have them when i just wiped cache and dalvik.

OK, I did format system, format data, format cache. Installed beta 0.2.0 , now it works. Thank you.

Wiping Dalvik Cache in Recovery Error.

Solved. Mod please close.
Thanks for the help....
Just got a new Thunderbolt. Rooted. When I wipe Dalvik cache I get a line that says E: invalid directory or file. Is there something I need to do to my internal storage or sdcard first before downloading a new rom, wiping data cache dalvik and then flashing? Recovery doesn't seem to be wiping dalvik cache. Any help is apreciated. Thanks.

Did you delete the cache partition first? I believe the dalvik cache is often stored there, so if you wipe the partition first, you'll get an error if you attempt to wipe the cache afterwards. Either way, if it isn't there, it shouldn't cause a problem with a new ROM.
I found a file named cache, it had 2 files. One was called download.apk, the other was Recovery.txt. The Recovery.txt file was just a log of my last flash. The download.apk would not open. It was 1kb. In the data dir. there is a David cache file. It has all the data from the user apps. I deleted the cache file but still got the error, then deleted both, and still the same. After reboot, both files were there with the same info. Should I re-root, format sdcard with a ext-3 partition then update to a GB Rom? Thanks
Hey, the Ol' Lady stole my T-bolt
It always says that, for me at least. You have to do two clicks in Recovery for it to work, if you know what I mean. After I click "Clear Dalvik Cache" the first time, I get that "error" and a list of more options, one being Wipe Dalvik Cache, and the other 13 being the same. I click Wipe Dalvik Cache, and the feed at the bottom says Dalvik Cache cleared.
That is when.it looks for a EXT partition. If one was not create it will say that.
It is typically used for Apps2SD and by having them on the SD there would be a dalvik directory.

if i WIPE DALVIK, BATTERY AND CACHE it delete my games or prosses in the games i have?
ty for helpers
NO they will not be deleted. Wiping dalvik, cache or battery stats doesn't effect you applications.
what it means flash/boot ?
i had seen on some rom posted that before installing wipe/ boot !!
what does wipe/ boot means, i had wiped all cache, battert, dalvik..

Wiping only dalvik, cache and boot stats won't delete any app or app data from the phone....Wiping Data is the one which does that
Wiping of data is needed to uninstall any installed apps before doing a fresh/clean install of a new ROM
Otherwise it's most probable that the new ROM gets installed wrongly (except cm7 nightlies)
So before flashing new ROM do-
Data wipe,Dalvik, cache, battery stats wipe

Did you wipe the phone? Wipe data, cache, dalvik, and system. Otherwise you would get errors like that dirty flashing

Try reinstall n do a full wipe
Its should work man
I reinstalled the rom and gapp.( After I redownload them again), and did a cache wipe and a dalvik wipe but the problem persist.
Do you think a wipe data/factory reset will help, cos I am trying to avoid it.

Wipe factory
Cache
Advanced > dalvik cache
Mounts & storage > format system
