Ubuntu full desktop OS coming to multi-core Androids!! - HTC EVO 3D

I found this somewhere but it wasnt covered in 3Ds section yet , so here it is:
http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android
http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/21/ubuntus-full-desktop-os-coming-to-multi-core-android-devices/
http://mobile.theverge.com/2012/2/21/2812424/ubuntu-for-android-hands-on

I just read this on Android Central as well. What a treat by the makers of Ubuntu.
It appears it's an APK that allows the phone to display a full desktop experience, pretty impressive stuff.
I've already signed up to find more information. Can't wait for it's release

I was reading about this earlier in the week. Sounds very impressive. I must also sign up for more information on this.

I cant wait!

This is pretty insane. They're blurring the lines between Smartphones and Computers. Skynet is becoming self-aware. John Connor is getting locked and loaded as we speak. OMFGWTFBBQ!

I wonder if this will require root? Hope not Ive been happy staying stock...

This is pretty exciting news, android and ubuntu FTMFW

Are they worth getting? I noticed on some of the other phones i had people said extended batteries from other manufacturers werent great. Can you recommend one? Sorry for OT

Well I filled out the form to get info and got a reply back stating they were only wanting to work with handset makers and mobile operators to bring it to market....
guess we will be waiting for some time here then less there is a leak of it....

proof of concept
Good evening everyone! Long time Lurker, first time poster here. First and foremost, I need to say thanks to all the developers and contributors that make this site everything that it is. Thank you!!!!
Now lets get some Ubuntu running! The files and instructions are found in an app on the market, "Ubuntu installer". The links provided in the app are all still good, validated tonight. I was running cleanrom 1.2 the first time I tried, and I can vouch that cleanrom is capable of booting Ubuntu via terminal. This part was surprisingly easy.
Next part is making this useful! Mhl on cleanrom 1.2 worked great. So here I am throwing Ubuntu to a 50" flatscreen with no convenient user interface. I tried installing gmote server on the virtual Ubuntu. Fail. Linux newb. I try andromouse (gmote alternative). The program is an executable .jar file, this I can handle. Andromouse launches, the android device I was using as the remote doesn't detect the server or tunnel in with the provided ip. Fail.
Here I load up joelz cm9 alpha. I lose mhl, but want to see how Ubuntu plays with 4.0. Ubuntu runs noticably faster! Also, for whatever reason, andromouse server was detected by my other android device. For a brief moment I basked in the glory of remote controlling a virtual desktop environment running on my phone. Then I wanted mhl support, flashed back to an old backup of cleanrom, and now nothing works. Unzipping the Ubuntu image again right now for a fresh start.
Potential uses? 1. Having a computer anywhere there is an HDMI in & second android device for mouse/keyboard. 2. Run a virtual Ubuntu server on your android to act as a host server for multiplayer gaming (is this possible?) 3. ????

I love Ubuntu! This would be awesome!

and i have to say the battery quality is amazing
after conditioning the battery with the usual ways and benchmarking it, i found i could run it at on demand for govenor or performance all day with a max speed of 1.5 ghz without a problem with about 50% left after 3 PM, granted i get up at 6 AM and then my phone goes to roaming for about 6-7 hours after that so battery drain is pretty high. Now if i do the above with the stock battery im looking at my phone being dead by 3PM
the expanded batteries are worth it even if ubuntu for android isnt out yet, they allow you to really make your phone a performance device

I couldn't find if they announced when they are releasing this.... Does any one know?

no. the email I got from them regarding the beta of it said they wanted to work with mobile operators and manufacturers first to get it out...
I dont know what pepsekola is talking about to be honest...as its not released to the public. I can only guess they are speaking of the already present workarounds other users have worked on in the past thus far.
there is the sign up page for info and such, but as you can tell by the heading even they are only interested in working with Handset maker or network operator's currently...

Lets port Honeycomb

Honestly I think HTC is shorting us by not giving us 3.0 so the only reason I'm going to get this is we can port 3.0 to it. So what are the odds? How hard is going to be?
I guess they want more development time to set up Sense on Honeycomb and possibly to push it out sooner so people get this rather than Xoom...

Does the digitizer make porting Honeycomb more difficult (i.e., because it's not designed for styluses)? I'm on the fence about the Flyer, but developer support would be a huge plus.

I feel the same way although I'm 99% sure ill get it anyway. I don't see the point in 10" tablets. If I was going to carry a bulky device, I'd sooner take my laptop as its far more useful and weighs abt the same as the 10" tablets.
Have used the Galaxy Tab for a few months now and its the form factor which makes is useful to me - will fit in your pocket if you really need a free hand.
My only other concern is performance. With the majority of honeycomb tablets sporting the Tegra 2 chipset, does this mean apps will be designed with those specs in mind? Anyone know how the flyers Qualcom CPU?
Why want to port a buggy honeycomb if around 3 months later (Juni or July) there will be a official 3.0

No offense intended, but your question comes across ass a little troll-ish. Assuming you genuinely want an answer though:
1) Because apps for 3.0 are designed for tablet form-factor. If you have used any of the 2.x (or even earlier) tablets, you will know that many apps look horrible because they are either scaled up to full screen, or only appear as a 'small box' in the middle of the screen.
2) I love XDA - the Devs here are top-notch and I never have issues running early versions of the ROMs that are cooked up by XDA devs. The releases here are always way ahead of the manufacturer releases and that's kind of the whole point of the site. It lets DEVs get familiar with new platforms so that when oficial releases come out, they can be quickly ported to the 'official' build when HTC get around to releasing it.
3) Never hold your breath waiting for manufacturers to release updates. HTC are relatively quick to release updates compared to most manufacturers, but waiting for official updates can lead to pain and disappointment.
I was wondering this as well, but more in a general sense. I got an ipad from my work for winning a contest, I played with it, and I can't stand apple crap. So I'm going to sell it, looks like I can get about $450 for it on ebay. So I wanted to take that money and get a android tablet, and I was thinking I would wait for the honeycomb tabs to come out and come down in price a little. But then I thought why do that?? Especially since i'm running gingerbread on my Evo and it runs freaking awesome!
So any worries hardware or other with buying a froyo tab and rooting it and getting a honeycomb rom later? Any min specs one should look for etc..? I know it's slightly off topic sorry, but not really sure where I should post this
Thanks!!!
Do a little research next time, it WILL be released with Honeycomb. I can't post the link cause I don't have more then 8 posts, but if you google it, HTC tweeted that it will be released with 3.0.

Before u spend ur money. You should know that the has no RUU released. And any system posted of the xoom that's not the WiFi version moto keeps having the links removed. And to top it all off the system dump can not be deodexed. I have even tried myself. The only version of 3.0 that can be ported is SDK and nothing works on it... T-Mobile will be releasing an honeycomb tab but know Google it will be locked too... And its not HTC's falt honeycomb will never meet sense. Google will not allow any overlays of any kind of honeycomb. That means no blur or sense...

Not hating, just FACT. With a security hole like the one reported you might as well post all your info on your Facebook wall. Don't get me wrong, I prefer Sense over TW and Blur but not enough to leave a phone wide open like that. There is workarounds but that hole never should have made to production.

The locked bootloader is the reason for this. That is also why you are seeing the developer migration from HTC to Samsung.
Look at the OG Droid. That thing had tons of dev support. I, for one would love to see Papa Google take webtop and use it as a launchpad for Chrome OS. That would be awesome.

I fired up webtop for the first time today and while there is a "betaness" to it I'm very impressed. I am probably going to buy a small, beautiful Samsung television to run this on and start incorporating its use more and more.
Shabby, you seem knowledgeable, maybe you could tell me...
1. Can we extend USB ports with a port expander?
2. Do you know of any printing solutions? I know Kodak won't play with Linux but I'm pretty sure HP is in, so perhaps plug and play? But if so...I don't know of any Android office suites that even have a printing option.
Also, sorry for posting off topic, but my questions are directly related to your statements.

MIUI and CM7 Progress report

I have some ideas for 2nd init that I am going to try today. Going to see exactly how 2nd init on the X used a hijack zip rather than just init.rc like we have now. It seems like it's executing in the right spot. Just not loading what we need to.
Sounds Pike a good start keep us posted. This is exciting

Good stuff...u gonna be on IRC today?
Ill be checking it occasionally when I have time...at work now.
good luck
Well I cant do much today but I looked at some more documentation on the atrix's 2nd init and the actual init part came straight from the Defy like the x's did. Going to try making a wrapper to load the x's hijack which should load a hijack zip and then we could load everything properly. Our 2nd init works via moto_charge_mode or w/e that bin is (something like that) which is why it needs to be plugged in to drop into 2nd init. So I was gonna write a wrapper to try and load the hijack bin from the X since we don't natively have a hijack file. Essentially what it will do is try to load charge_mode and then the actual file would load hijack inside of it. We did something similar to delay the RIL loading on the D2G
Its nice to know you are actually doing something with the phone. Last time we donated a phone to a dev, we didn't hear a peep from him until he said he was getting rid of it to CVPCS. Which is good he got it to CVPCS but he never kept us updated. I for one love knowing what's going on and wish you the best of luck in getting us some CM7 and MIUI love. I can't wait to make hybrid of my Molten ROM and CM7

Wow that was lame of him lol. Anyways I am doing it because I started falling out of love with my d2g after seeing the X. Not to mention it wasn't a challenge anymore to work on. I do see a lot of potential in the phone given that it scores the same as my D2G in quadrant with my ICS MIUI rom when I have gingerblur on the phone. So it impressed me a bit, especially since it doesnt have neon.
Edit: Speaking of cvpcs I have been keeping in touch with him via twitter as well. I get along with all the other devs out there =). Haven't gotten to touch base with koush yet but I do speak to p3droid and cvpcs from time to time.
This is good news. I've been dying for CM7 since I heard of it after I got the X2.
Keep up the good work and if there's anything I can do to help out just let me know.

cvpcs from what I can gather from his twitter is trying to port ICS over to the X and isn't (and pretty much has no plans to) helping us with the X2.
And ace, I think you're doing is right in theory, but I know we aren't going to be able to use charge_only_mode to use the hijack/2nd-init unless we're going to want to plug in our phones to the wall every time we turn on the phone. The reason our BSR uses it is because you can't draw to the screen without certain services being started (which are started when charge_only_mode is). We aren't going to need those services started if we're just going to hijack and then 2nd-init. I can show you the script I use to hijack/2nd-init for porting over the CWMR and the one I have for when I was working on CM7. It's basically like the hijack binary that is compiled for the X and the others, but in a shell script (that works for our phone).
Also, PM me if you ever need to bounce ideas off of me or want me to try something out.
Yeah, shoot whatever you got to me. I wonder if we could use just a wrapper for hijack. Idk if anyone has tried that yet. Those services may not start inside the bin. idk enough about the charge only mode except it kicks off when its plugged in
If you could just post that here or get it to me as well i would be interested. I have not seen any actual implementation that works on the x2 so far so i would be super interested in what you have done.

=( the motherboard I bought for my thinkpad was bad. Just contacted the seller (it was supposed to be 100% tested.... yeah..) It isn't that it doesn't turn on... its the it has bad ram on the gpu in it. I get screen corruption in the bios, in windows (in windows it's so bad it bsod's) and on and off the dock. That wrecked my plans yesterday to dev at night. Like I said, I can use my work laptop.... just sucks having to adb push everything. Not to mention my thinkpad has a more complete set of tools. I don't have the rom signer or anything else on here. I even have my boot.img decompiler on there.
You need an early christmas gift for yourself man! There are some pretty good laptops out there for under $400. Not going to set any speed records, but they have some pretty high end tech in them that is only a generation or so old. I was looking for laptops for both my parents and came across a ton of good deals! I personally prefer my built desktops though.

Eh, my thinkpad is a t60p (came out in late 2006) It has a Core Duo 2.16 ghz, 4 GB of ram and a dedicated video card. My old one had a FireGL V5250 but the new board only has an X1400 in it. So it's pretty decent imo. My work laptop is an Elitebook 8440p and is much more powerful... Just that its much more locked down too lol. Edit: Oh and the hard drive is a 320 GB 7200 RPM drive

I checked and i don't have any IBM's, but i have a lot of Dell, Alienware, and Asus. I mostly pick those to work on because of exandability. What would be an ideal laptop you would need for development? (screen size, cpu, gpu)? Of all the laptops i ever had i must say Fujitsu are my favorite by far, if you have/had one you understand. I don't have any portables except for a dell D430 12" only thing is that it has a zif drive not the fastest

Under 15 inches. At least a dual core, support DDR2 (Since thats the only ram I have, unless you throw some in) For gpu, anything but Intel and hopefully discrete if possible. Not going to be picky lol. Just needs to be similar to my thinkpad. My thinkpad has seen better days, thats for sure. Not gonna lie, they're tough mother ****ers. I actually jumped on mine with the lid shut before to show it won't hurt the screen.
I've been working in IT for over 15+ years and personally own about 6 IBM laptops, I'm also Lenovo Warranty Repair Certified and I'd still not jump on those things to prove their durability.
I've seen sales reps break their screens by sitting things on them much lighter than I am. I think the only laptop I would ever say would probably be OK if I jumped on it is a toughbook. Even then, I'm not sure proving its durability that way is all that sensible

Heh, I've been working on laptops for quite awhile myself. A+ and HP, Dell certified with experience in other brands but not certified yet. Essentially I knew it was reinforced with magnesium alloy (same stuff alloy rims are made of) plus I positioned my feet to not land dead center lol. I haven't had a support position for awhile but I still know my stuff. I script at the place I work at now.

Hey man... if you happen to pop in here, I was just curious how your work was coming. I know you hate it when people flood your threads with ETA questions, but I was just curious how things were going since you are one of the only devs for this phone.
I know you've been working on an ICS port and maybe even a Sense 3.5 port, so I was just curious whatcha been up to.
Hope all is well and thanks again for your work!

I guess you already sent him a PM and even replied in one of his threads, right?
For 16 years old, he has been busy with ics, bulletproof, was busy with quicksense, beastmod, bliss 3.5 sense, and stock 3.5 sense. Along with all these roms for us he was/is also creating all in one tools, kernel flasher utility along with helping other devs and helping us the community with all these questions. So I would say his work is coming along pretty well or great or awesome. I hope this answers your question bc I am sure he is too busy to step away for something someone else can help you with or you could help yourself with.

Maybe his school is better than yours?
When I was in school we didn't even have computer classes. We had a computer lab that we had an opportunity to use once a week for about a half an hour. Ah the days of Oregon Trail on floppy.
Heck in some public schools the students are given mac books instead of actual books.

Oregon Trail ftw! Ha good times. And man I wish my middle school did that yeah we got either time for Oregon Trail or Mavis beacon typing. Never had a serious computer class... The closest I almost had in high school was supposed to be web design... Which taught dreamweaver... No real coding at all : / was pretty weak.

- Intro to java (very basic like hello world and basic java games like the old snake game that eats the apples)
- Webdesign (basic html coding, Dreamweaver other adobe products)
and we use the worst product ever windows to do all this on
Ubuntu/eclipse/aosp source is the best combo

You know what... I'm actually fine with that as long as it doesn't get out of hand.
A lot of mods don't like it. I even made a thread specifically for that in the General section called Off Topic Posts. I was actually expecting it to be like 20 pages long by now. Odd that it isn't. But I think that I'm fairly lenient as long as the OP is fine with the content of the posts being placed within their threads. But the moment I see someone posting duplicates, post pumping, flaming or violating forum rules... that's when I start getting serious. We should know how to enjoy XDA but we also need to be mature about it at the same time. Sometimes we forget how to do that though.

Hello all.

Hi guys. I just picked up a Rezound under 2 year contract (last contract, hopefully) with Verizon, so I thought I should introduce myself. I'm a college student in the Pacific Northwest, studying for a BS in Network Administration. I game competitively and mess with things like programming and Android stuff in my free time. I go by Purple or Purp, because they're easier than my full username.
When looking at upgrading my phone, I had been planning on going with a GNex, but VZW no longer supports or carries them, which made me sad. I ended up getting my Rezound for free though, because the independent vendor I went through is one I've been going through since 2004 and they're awesome. I don't need the fastest, biggest, bestest device, so this suits my productivity needs nicely, and I'm not in the position to switch to GSM or to another carrier right now.
I will undoubtedly be modifying the phone, but as I'm new to the community I'm going to sit tight and read lots for the next while (Already rooted though :silly:. I'll wait until I become familiar with this XDA neighborhood and the ROMs/kernels that have been developed for the device before I start getting my hands dirty, so to speak.
Any suggestions from you all on what to lean towards or lean away from would be appreciated.
Cheers, and happy President's Day. Hope you're all enjoying your day off, if you have one.
There are lots of good ICS ROMs which you could use as "daily drivers". If ur feeling more adventurous there are some very slick JB ROMs as well. I mostly use ROMs created by IamTheOneTheyCallNeo.

Welcome aboard. Sometimes our group can be a little rough around the edges, but I think we've all gotten quite a bit better at being tolerant. We've got some really awesome devs around here, most of them double up on rom development and kernel development just to keep it interesting.
We all tend to be fairly helpful too, so feel free to ask any questions that may come up. We've got a dedicated help thread in general maintained by neo, although there many other people jump in and answer when neo gets bogged down with real life. Also, most devs troubleshoot bugs in their own threads, and most (if not all) are incredibly active.
Enjoy, hope to see you around in some of these threads.

My initial reaction to seeing anyone with this phone on a new contract is to tell you to take it back and get something with better battery life. The phone is really nice and performs great in all aspects except battery life. The are too many other options now with better battery life to be stuck with this phone for 2 more years. I understand that "free" is hard to beat though. If you don't mind the battery, then you will enjoy the Rezound. Welcome to the group.

Thanks. It's definitely a change of pace from the Nexus group, I think I like it. Much less clutter, and slow-paced enough that issues that are brought up are resolved, rather than buried under post volume.

Admittedly, that's the biggest thing I've noticed since getting this phone Friday evening. But it doesn't bother me too much. As long as I can make it through the day (and I'm not a heavy user) I usually plug the phone into my computer when I get home and let it charge via USB, and use AirDroid for text messaging and such. I also have a car charger from a family member's previous HTC device, so travel is covered.

Thanks for your input. I think I mentioned this in my original post, but price was a HUGE factor in me getting this phone. If my vendor hadn't given me the large discount plus mail-in-rebate that he did, I wouldn't have gotten the Rezound. Actually, I probably wouldn't have upgraded. It was either the Rezound or the LG Spectrum 2 that interested me, as I felt that other phones didn't have the balance of specifications I wanted. The DNA would be nice, certainly, but there's still very little in the way of development compared to other devices, it is considerably more expensive, and I don't think I could use 4 cores if I tried, as I'm not a heavy user. The battery life would be a nice addition, sure, but as I said above the lack of it doesn't really bother me, and size is not an issue.
Hi Purp!
I don't know what you are coming from, but I love this phone but then it's my first smartphone. I looked for over a year before I took the plunge on this one and I think it's great. Like you, I don't need the latest and greatest, though when I bought this it pretty much was just that.
As to battery life, it doesn't bother me but I'm pretty much always in a position to be able to charge it. I have a spare battery now so if I go for a day hike I can take that with me, although if I go for that type of hike I'm usually out of service area since I'm in the mountains.
As to ROMs, I've stuck with sense ROMs and I was going to try an aosp ROM but I've heard the camera and video playback doesn't work properly so I changed my mind. aosp and jb ROMs are still works in progress. You can find several sense ROMs that are in good working order though.
Also, you say you're rooted, don't know if you are s-off or not. It involves shorting out something on the phone using a wire. Some people have lost usb function doing it. It makes it easier to flash ROMs - although now the devs are making it just as easy to flash when you're s-on so I'm not sure that's even a factor any more - and it makes it easier to brick your phone too. Used to be that if you were still s-on you had to pull the kernel from the ROM you were flashing and flash it in fastboot after flashing the ROM, but if you were s-off it was all automated. Well now devs are making it so you can select s-off or s-on when you're flashing so you don't have to pull the kernel and flash it separately any more. I don't flash much so I'm going to stay s-on. And since I'm not constantly tinkering with that type of thing I don't want to forget and do something that bricks the phone without thinking. So, something to think about. Maybe you already knew all that, if so forgive me for babbling on. Forgive the babbling even if you didn't know it, seems like I went on for a while on that!
Anyway, hope you like the phone as much as I do!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Up until now I had a basic phone; a combination of not liking a device and finances kept me from upgrading. That being said, I've had a bit of experience before this from helping a friend who had a Galaxy Nexus, and I learn fast.
I don't have a spare battery, but I do have a car charger and a spare wall charger. So for the most part I'm also covered.
I barely use my camera, so the JB roms might be less of an issue for me. But stability is a big plus so for now I'll probably stick with ICS. Sensed vs Desensed is a whole different story.
Yeah, at first I had just rooted. Last night I took a stab at the wire trick and got it after my third try. Was a bit worried at first but it went smoothly. I can already tell I'll be a flashoholic, so S-Off is probably the way to stay for me. And no problem with the babbling, I'd much rather take the time to respond to a long-winded response like this than a bunch of short ones.

I was looking at that one in some detail; I liked what I saw except for the fact that the bloatware such as NFL Mobile was not taken out, but as I've already taken the liberty of removing my bloatware with ROM Toolbox Lite, it's not really a big issue. That may be my first or among my first ROM tries, as for now I think I'll stick with Sense. Compared to Motoblur and TouchWiz, Sense is far less intrusive and overall quite likable.

Awesome, I'll take a look. Stock ICS is what truly drew me into the Android OS in the first place, I really liked the look of it on the Nexus devices. Seems like a lot of people like Neo around here, and that kind of loyalty and popularity can't be earned easily. So I'll definitely be taking a look at his releases.

I've definitely found that the popularity of CyanogenMods is well-deserved. But I think I'll wait for a while before I try this one, given that I haven't really looked into all the bugs people are having with JB builds.
Terminal Emulator I got immediately after reading this post, thanks for the tip. DriveDroid looks interesting. I'm not sure if I'd have a use for it, as I have a Linux USB boot 'disk' and a HDD with a couple partitions for non-primary operating systems in my computer. But I'd like to try it out at the very least. Thanks for the suggestions.

Just remember that desensed roms still smell of HTC and aren't a true ICS experience. If you want a full ICS you will need to check out the AOSP builds, which have some basic features missing; like Bluetooth calling and wifi tether encryption.

Do t know where your store said the gnex wasn't offered no more. I was at a Verizon store last week and they still had gnex out on the floor. As far as battery life on this phone I can get easily 18 to 20 hrs on the stock battery. Maybe its because I came from the thunderbolt and that phone is known for some of the worst battery life besides the gnex. I have had the rezound for only a few weeks and just love it. This phone has more solid ROMs for it than the bolt could even wish for.
So enjoy the phone as it will serve you well. Also the guys in here are more forgiving than the thunderbolt section lol.

Alright, thanks for the heads up. Bluetooth isn't an issue for me, as I don't use calling very much. And same with tethering, because I'm a stingy data user.

Well that's depressing. It's gone from their website, and all stores in Washington and Oregon that I've checked at or called. Ah well; I'll live. Plus this was free while the GNex wouldn't have been.
Once I settle into a regular usage pattern (Which might take a while, seeing as I know I'll be flashing lots once I start) I'll probably get around the same. I need to do my homework on the different governors though, there's a few that I'm unfamiliar with.
Yeah, it seems like a great group of people around here. I'm looking forward to getting more involved.
Now that I've familiarized myself with much of the Rezound forum, I was wondering how I could begin contributing in my own way. I don't have much skill in the way of development, and with school I doubt I'd have the time. But then another thought came to mind... guinea pig!
A Governor a Day
So basically what I'm planning on doing is testing the effects of the various CPU governors. I was planning on doing this for myself anyways, as I'm very curious what the practical differences are between governors.
I'll be setting several constants (Min/Max frequencies, voltages, ROM/Kernel, etc) and the only variable (at first) will be the governor. I'll probably start off with a one day time period, just because of the simplicity. Overall routine will be to set the governor when I plug my phone in, either at night before I go to bed or just before I run out of juice -- say 10% mark. And then just use it as I always do, because I have the benefit of a fairly regular class schedule there shouldn't be any significant changes to my usage pattern.
I'll be using several apps to help document all this data; if you want to suggest another to add to the accuracy and range of the stats, feel free. So far the list is:
Statistics
GSam Battery Monitor.
SystemPanel [Paid].
CPU Spy.
Settings
Kernel Tuner
I'm guessing that for the first week or so I'll be taking community feedback from you all and incorporating it into the OP as constants and such, so the final experiment probably won't start for another few days and I'll have to redo my DanceDance statistics, as well as whatever I use tomorrow. But that really doesn't bother me.
This is sort of my introductory post, I'm almost done with my day on DanceDance. As I told some people in the Infection2.1 thread I'd be making a very detailed post of my battery life and settings, I'll also be copying that post into a new thread and reserving the first few posts for myself. You're all welcome to make suggestions in both this thread and the dedicated thread, but let's try to keep Neo's ROM thread clean for him.
