Has anyone found any decent cases or sleeves for this tablet yet?
It's dimensions are listed as 271x176x12.9mm, which makes it longer than the iPad, as well as longer and wider than the Xoom, so I imagine most cases for those devices will be too small (or it'll protrude through the opening.)
At the same time, lots of netbook cases are around, but they seem to extend by 1 or 2cm too far in each dimension. Closest appears to be the Belkin 10.2" cases on Amazon.
There's a comparison of sizes here:
http://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_co...om-vs-Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10-1v-vs-Apple-iPad2
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=5653&t_mode=des
Looks like it might work - size wise it seems the transformer will fit.
For the moment I am going to keep my transformer in the case I used for my Asus EEE PC Netbook, just hope it fits!!!
I also contacted tuff luv as I adore their cases and have one for my Kindle and love the fact I can prop it up and read it. They say there going to look into it and to contact them again in a couple of weeks, I really hope they do a case.
I got on of these as a temporary measure. .

Fits well enough, of somewhat unspectacular..
REALLY hoping Yoobao do a transformer version of their magic case.. have emailed them to enquire.. mebbe i enough of us register our interest.. Hint.. hint
I still haven't found a case :'( I'm using a net book neoprene case which is too big, do we need to consider the keyboard as well... might make it harder to get the case.

Ive got one of these and it fits pretty well.
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9295706.htm
I got one of these anticipating my Transformer but after getting it, I'm pretty sure it will be about .5 inch short.
www .amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Netbook-Handle-10-Inch-Netbooks/dp/B002VPE1Q6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1302649243&sr=8-1
The Transformer is long and narrow unlike all other tablets.
I got my kindle sleeve from here..http://wrappers.typepad.com/
Very pleased with it...
If you email them with details they will advise which of their huge range will fit the Xformer. They are custom made.
I bought a cheap neoprene sleeve on ebay (item no 170625464579) for £3.30 delivered (although he has now hiked up his price to £4.95). It fits pretty much perfectly - although I did manage to accidentally wake the tablet up from standby putting it in the sleeve on one occasion.

Wow, those look really nice. I'll email and see what they say.
Edit: Have just been emailing with the lady that makes them. She's confident she can make something up for it and is going to send me a sample. I'll keep you posted!

I just bit the bullet and ordered this one for now:
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0045D88I4/ref=ox_ya_os_product
Size is 270x200x25 mm which is the closest I could get to the Transformer size. It should arrive in a couple of days and then I will report back.
rio
This looks like a perfect fit from the listed dimensions:
http://www.gearzap.com/pakuma-eco2bag-cocoon-10-netbook-sleeve-black-and-jasper-red.html
Anyone know the height of the keyboard? Don't want to buy a sleeve yet until I know both the tablet & keyboard are going to fit in it!

maybe im not sure. but isnt the transformer 16:10? its pretty widescreen so itll be a little lengthy compared to netbooks i think. im not quite sure.
Today i went to my local PCWorld store and picked up a Samsonite 11" Notebook Case, it seems to fit quite well, but was £24.99 ....
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/samsonite-aramon2-11-laptop-case-black-05318913-pdt.html
It is duel aspect, so when the keyboard part of the TF arrives it will also be used in this case, the tablet part fits in the top part of the case and is held in place by two corner holders.

Been there, done that. Unfortunately - as you'll soon notice - when it's done up the zip sits right on top of the power button, making it incredibly easy to turn on accidentally. I'm taking mine back tonight.
My sample "Wrapper", as linked above, arrived this morning and it's very nice indeed! Perhaps a little small width ways but I've sent my feedback and I think they're going to re-work it a little. Once they've got the final design down-tap I'd recommend them without hesitation.

I guess i can see what you mean about the zip, but im traveling around with work next week and wanted something quick to stop it getting battered in my laptop bag with everything else that is in there.
It will do for the moment until either an official case comes out or a good alternative is found, I will hold onto the receipt and packaging that came with it, if it turns on the power constantly when im away next week i will take it back.
The TeckNet iPad Leather Case for Apple iPad is exactly the type of thing I want, only designed for the eeePad!!!
I'd link you to the page on Amazon, but I've not posted enough on here yet to put up external links! (GRRR!)
one of my friends has a CaseCrown portfolio case for his Xoom (called the "Standby" i think) and it is awesome. fits snugly with access to all ports and even has a magnetic clip to secure the flap to the case itself. it has a built in stand as well. here it is on amazon http://www.amazon.com/CaseCrown-Standby-Motorola-Model-Black/dp/B004WKT2DU
i love this case so much that i was hoping for a Transformer case to come out, so i emailed customer support at CaseCrown and this is the reply i got:
"We appreciate your interest in CaseCrown
We are currently discussing the Asus EEE Pad Transformer, so it is a possibility!
We can email you a notification if they will be available, however it will not be expected for at least 1-2 months
Otherwise, we can offer a few suggestions on generic sleeves or cases that will fit if you are interested."
i asked for alternatives and if they propose anything different than what's on the "compatible cases" thread i'll post them there. just wanted to let you all know.
They should definitely look into it, considering it's generating more hype than the Xoom.
count me in for one!

OMG this case would be PERFECT!
Share the email address with us. We should ALL email them. The more emails they get the sooner they will make this!
Looks great, just sent them an email at [email protected]
Also suggested that if the do produce a case they look at a way to allow the unit to be docked with the keyboard without the need to remove cover which would be great
The need to hurry up on making one. Looks nice.

got an email yesterday from CaseCrown...here's what they said:
"This email is to inform you that we will have Asus Transformer standby cases in late June.
We can email you again when they are available if you are interested
Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
CaseCrown Support"
the casecrown cases really are fantastic so it may be worth the wait unless someone else comes out with one thats just as good. i know that the "FolioGuard" case shown in this forum is the one to beat right now, but the biggest caveat there is that it doesnt have the low profile stand ability. so basically i cant put it on my desk and have the low slant angle for typing
Yeah, I can see that being a problem for some.. The FolioGuard guys read these forums with interest though, so I'll wager that the feedback has been received and taken on board
Personally, because I use Thumb Keyboard extensively when using the tablet on its own (in "split mode") - that with a low profile typing position would actually feel "sub-optimal" for me as its best used when gripping the tablet and tapping away with your thumbs
..and then there's always the dock for the real typing shenannigans...
(If only Asus could've licensed the Transformer's transforming noise whenever you docked it... geek-tastic.. *sigh*)
That's great news. Casecrown makes some quality gear. Their Xoom case seems well made and its less than $20 on Amazon.
here's the xoom case...

I'll email them later today. It looks just like the official case, but with magnets and (fake) leather instead. I like it a lot.
The case crown looks a lot like this one they're selling on EBay out of China
The bad news is that it's $15 shipping for a total of $27 buy it now.

But someone has already emailed casecrown saying the TF101 case will be out in a few weeks within June to order. Hopefully within under the $20 mark.
This case looks great and it doesn't appear to be too thick like a lot of other cases too.
Hopefully it lives up to expectations as I'm getting tired of keeping my transformer inside due to not having a case.
I just bought a casecrown sleeve that I like quite a bit (other than the turqouise meshy crap on the inside that is a tad too rough to make me feel like it won't scratch my screen!)
Either way if they made a case like that which turned into a stand, I'd definitely purchase it Here's to hopin'!
Looks identical to the case in this thread...

Must be the one from China on Ebay mentioned earlier...even at $28 may be worth a try....
Looks fantastic, can't wait til its out!

Awesome! Now the question is: Case Crown or RooCASE???
I was wondering if something like this existed that would work with the Flyer for under $40.

I would not recommend doing this, what if you mistake your Flyer for a book and toss it into your closet??
LOL
lol, good point. Not me, so much, but maybe anyone who walks into my room.
But on another note, if you're walking through a subway station late at night, this does serve as a good disguise for the tablet.
"Yeah, I'll take your wallet, your watch, your belt, but you can keep that crummy book."

LOL when your house gets robbed (not that it will) they'll steal the wallet, money, computers, but not a book!
Back to the point, I don't know any book like cases. Look for one for the Nook Color in a store and ask the sales man if you can try your flyer in it.
I saw the one for the nook, but Im not too fond of them. I really like the one for the Apple products. I think I can spend thanksgiving weekend or winter break working on one.
Will probably go to a craft shop or sign up on a crafts/arts related forum and just speak to some people there once I get the time.
But for now, back to anatomy and biochemistry.
have you found one yet?

That case for the Ipad is awesome! I'd buy one from my Flyer if it were available (considering I use my Flyer mostly for reading, it's even appropriate!)
Looks freaking awesome! I wish they made one for the size the 7in tabs, maybe when Apple releases a 7in tab they'll make one, but for the price, even if it is handcrafted is not worth in, in my opinion of course.
Sent from my Rooted HTC EVO View 4G (Honeycomb)
Moleskine Folio Kindle E-Reader Cover + Volant Notebook
Moleskine used to make these cases for the Amazon Kindle 6" and it might fit the HTC Flyer/Evo View 4G which is 7". btw there are two/three versions of this case - the other is for the Kindle DX which is large and the iPad version - so make you are looking at the right one. Alternatively, you could just get a molskine notebook and make your own?
It's on eBay for $40. There is picture of of a Nook Tablet in one so it might work for the evo view- that is if you don't mind back camera being blocked.

Imma try that on my days off this week and I'll post pics when I'm done. Im kind of thinking of putting like some fabric lining between the book and my tablet and also probably cutting out like a thumb hole next to the tab so it will be easier to take out.
Edit: Actually I'm designing my own paper cover for the "book"

I'm really interested in this possibility: thanks for discovering it.
What I'm unsure about is whether our Views will work well in it. I've compared dimensions of the Nooks and Kindle that the merchant on eBay says will fit and the View. It's questionable is what that seems to tell me.
I see that the item listing notes: "Because it is narrower, Kindle 3 does not fit snugly within the elastic straps, but it will fit inside the cover. If you use this cover with a Kindle 3, the device will be loose and may fall out of the cover." I fear that our View's dimensions are closer to the Kindle 3 than the others, so I think it may be a no go.
The eBay merchant couldn't tell me what to expect, so I'd have to buy it, try it, and return it if it isn't a good fit.
Any thoughts? Especially: anyone who can tell me from experience how it worked out fro them with their View?

Honestly, I think that if people are looking for a low-key, professional looking case, then I would recommend the faux-leather Bluerex case (and its carbon copies). From about 2-3 feet away, it looks pretty close to a moleskin notebook or leather agenda. Moreover, it's thin, does a good job of covering the Flyer, and is clean-cut, with all the right holes for camera and speakers.
I'm all for a solution which makes you inconspicuous, but a 'book case' would end up being bulkier, not as sleek, and wouldn't have the right holes for speakers, cameras, etc.
Something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqesTZRGwyQ&context=C38b7f16ADOEgsToPDskKBMFMK6BjkFCi6z3oqRqDJ would be perfect for my needs. Something I can proudly take to the office that doesn't look like it was purchased at the local Dollar Store.
Sorry for the rant but the lack of quality accessories for this tablet is killing me.
Apparently no one wants to put money into a device that may not even survive a few months. You will only get the low end stuff really. Everyone knows Apple is the real deal and isn't going anywhere....so it is a sure bet to invest. Remember, you don't need to sell Apple stock, it sells itself.
I have yet to buy one, but this is one of the few I have seen that says it is actual leather.
http://www.skindigitalstore.com/categories/ASUS-Transformer-Prime-TF201/
If you get one and like it let me know.
My friend has a roocase for his og nd its very nice.. Here is a link to one, but they make several. I like this one because the tablet is in a "detachable" sleeve. (I have a substantially similar version made by MiniSuit but it's very cheap leather - looks fine from any distance, but for $14 I know it's not good quality - it serves a purpose and looks fine for my needs.
Anyway..... check Roocase. I've seen and handled that brand and think it is nice. MUCH nicer than most anything else available. If you don't like it, return it.
I have the Caseen Skinny and it's great.
tuff-luv.com has some great albeit pricey leather cases for not only the Prime Tablet but also the Tablet and Keyboard.
The real question is: "Where are all the quality non-leather cases?"
There are tons of options for leather cases with varying degrees of quality, but there are practically no non-leather cases.
I have the cheaper poetic/mono case and it has been great. No complaints.

How is it only going to last a few months? They are releasing the tf 700 in a couple of months, but that will be the same size so if anything the lifetime will be expanded more that it normally would be.
Also this is a good case, I got the exact same type just from a different company called Acase, because it was cheaper priced.

I also looked at the Roocase but I am concerned of the thickness the case would add to the tablet.
I also purchased the Mini Suit case to hold me over and agree that it's made of very very very cheap looking pleather.
So my search continues
I bought this case off of eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/260938668106?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I have several cases from this guy on our Kindles, Nooks, iPad and now TFP. Have had some for over a year and there are holding up great.
The two problems I have with this case is that it will not charge closed or when sitting in landscape as shown.
I was skeptical about different cases i kept finding online. But after taking a proper look at this one --> "GreatShield Multi-Stand Leather Protective Folio Case for ASUS TF201 Eee Pad Transformer Prime"
I went ahead and ordered it. It cost me 20pounds and was shipped from the US. In terms of quality, It is way better than any leather case for any tablet I have seen so far including those for the ipad (and I mean it). I asked someone @ my UNI to guess how much it cost me and he said "probably 70pounds". My point is, it is of the best quality, it looks sleek, professional and prestigious. Even better is the fact that it is tailor made for the transformer prime so all ports are accessible. Its design also doesn't cover up the bezel like most other tablet cases do (something i dislike with a passion).
I trust that if you go ahead and get it, you will not regret it. Here's the amazon UK link
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006RML5ZO/ref=oh_o02_s00_i00_details
If you live in the US, you can search for it on amazon.com.
I hope this helps.
Cheers mate.
Thanks for the info jdeltree, unfortunately I have already purchased & tried this case
http://www.amazon.com/TF201-Transfo...3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1330033453&sr=1-3
which looks fairly similar and was not happy with the design. Used it for 10 minutes and went back to the cheap minisuit.
Most of my cases in the past did cover the bezel and I kind of got used to that.
I may just bite the bullet and try the Caseen one. At this rate I will end up with a drawer full of these cases in search for the right one.
Going to give the Acase another try tonight to see if I can get used to it.
The saddle leather one coming soon from tuff-luv looks promising. 99£, but saddle leather is a top quality product. Once a picture is available, ill probably order one, as long as I can get it to the states.

If you think that $10.00 is quality leather, or leather at all for that matter, then your standards are very low.
I have the caseen one, I'm pretty happy with it.. Doesn't add too much bulk but does add a good amount of protection. I feel the build quality is good too.

Nope. The Headphone jack is offset a bit differently, the TF300 has no flash on the rear camera and I also believe the speakers are different. Dimensions are slightly different too. The TF300 is slightly thicker.
damn.
well thanks for saving me some money.
this case does not support the keyboard.

That sir, it does not. So your either supporting a mini touch laptop (with the keyboard dock) or a Star Trek data pad with a rigid case.
Has anyone pre-ordered one these yet? Gumdrop has it up for pre-order now.

I love this case, so I tried. But I don't want to spend 42$ on shipping costs for a case worth 60$.
They better find a European distributor.
I just pre-ordered the Gumdrop . I hope my TF300 lasts in the mean time...
I'm subscribing to this threads in hopes that someone will update once they receive theirs. I'm not fond of pre-ordering things.

Reporting Back. Gumdrop case arrived! Easy installation. Barely affects screen sensitivity, my stylus works as well as it used to, if not better. Very clean design.Stoked about my purchase. Highly recommended
"How to make your tablet ugly"
Why does one so much protection for their tablet? Such slim and streamlined device uglified.
I can't image the weight on it lol
That's my concern too.....How heavy is the tablet after the case is put on?

It definately adds some weight to the tablet, but still much much much less than a laptop, and it feels solid and it stood up to its first fall. Needless to say I had one too many stubbed my toe and the tablet went flying out of my hands.... screen first onto marble floor. Not a scratch. You get what you pay for! and im happy I did, even if it isnt cheap.
have anyone dropped their tablet and it survived? also how heavy is it?
It is much heavier. It is also much better protected. I take my tablet off road, camping, mountain biking, etc. and it gets dropped and knocked around all the time. Do you want light and fragile or robust and heavy? FYI, it also fits perfectly into the spring clamp Ram Mount made for 10" tablets.
