Hi Guys,
I have a pretty big problem.
During the last days my phone just shut power down and would only restart when I pull out battery and then put it back in. However, yesterday it also shut down, but it didn't even reboot anymore.
At that moment I was on a custom rom. After this I flashed generic firmware. Afther this, it keeps shut down power and it won't start up anymore.
Does anyone knows what else I can do?
With kind regards and thnx in advance!
Try to resoft with the sony oriccson update service

It's been happening for a few days, and I know it's not that bigger deal but it's bugging the crap out of me.
Almost Every time I go on a app the dam phone freezes, could be just for a few seconds or for 10 mins, and if it freezes for a long time I have to reboot it by holding the volume buttons and power buttons.
I've deleted all my apps and reinstalled them but keeps happening.
Anyone come across this and found a solution?

Mine reboots all the time, no matter what I do, even while in a call! It's really annoying! It happens from the beginning, since then I've changed all the firmwares available, rooted with stock kernels, now I'm on 76 with Doomlord's advanced stock kernel

I flashed doom kernel advanced stock to get the rooting and then I flashed stock kernel extracted from the ftf.
Now I stay without recovery but no more freezing.

2.3.7, 6.0A3.67 ( stock generic phone ) yup mine freezes on some games, but I'm kinda hoping that ICS etc will fix that .. when did it start ?? A few weeks ago ... mmmm
It's completely stock haven't done anything to it.

I've had the same problems to be honest. From when I got this phone(first week of release in UK) until about 3 weeks back, I had no problems at all. But since then I've found it lags really bad on certain apps and a lot of the time it crashes so I have to do manual reboot.
Mine is on FW .67 with no custom roms and not rooted. But apparently the .75 update is available for UK generic now so hopefully, these problems will be solved.

Just put the new update on my phone. So will have to wait and see if it does it again.
Edit** still freezing

I had the same problem a few weeks ago then i send my phone in sony service center. They have fully reinstalled the phone software and now the problem is gone. You can do the reinstalling by yourself, u just have to use flashtool and choose one of these ftf's http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Sony+(Ericsson)/SE+Xperia+S+(LT26i)/STOCK+ROMS
Updates and repairing from SEUS and PC Companion won't help. Fully reinstalling the software is the only option. You can stay calm because the problem is software, SONY are awared of it and i am sure the ICS will solve it. Enjoy your phone.
I assume by doing that by yourself you would be invalidating your warranty?

if it is Kaputt u take it to the shop and demand new unit!
remember to take receipt with yall.
Usually, if it is a bug or software related problem, they will only flush it and reinstall the program... normally, only hardware related problem is being replaced with new unit... but of course, it will still depend on the technician that is going to verify your problem... those technicians who wants easy job, will replace your unit regardless of your complaint...

@iainbp Are you still experiencing the same problem? Even though you said to me that even after updated to .75, your device was still the same. I updated 4 days ago and I'm having no problems with lag or freezing at all. Only lag I have seen was due to an app rather than the FW. So, as others have said, either send it to Sony so they can reinstall, or do the easier option and simply flash it

Guys.
I have been surfing all the forum to get a solution to my problem, and I couldn't find it.
Let me explain:
My X10i was working perfectly until about one week ago, at that moment I had DonutHD ROM installed, working great. I don't know why or how, the phone start to turn off (without turning on again) when the battery was at 75% charge.
My first thought was Battery Calibration... didn't worked, I tried several methods, from apps to wiping the stats on Xrecovery.
After that I came here to search for a solution, I found some options, like reinstalling the SW, did it, with Stock SE... didn't worked. Then I tried again to do the battery calibration... didn't worked.
I just want to get your opinion in my case, I'm starting to think that the problem is on the battery, but I'm not sure, since the phone stills shows 75% charge and turns off, I tried to drain all battery turning on the phone after the first incident, then full charge, then calibration, with no success.
Any other ideas???
By the way, I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-943626.html... will this work??
Thanks for you help.

I tried to connect the phone to SEUS but it doesn't give me a chance to re install or do a repair, it simply tells me that my phone is up to date... Is there anything that I might be missing??
I also have some problem with DonutHD. When the battery is below 30% turning on camera app will result in shutting down phone. However I'm able to turn it back on. Maybe it's just a matter of ROM. Try using other ones

Thanks stephenhiscock98, was thinking the same, but wanted to check with the community here.
I also have this problem on DonutHD.
I've tried two different batteries thinking that the batteries were faulty. The only pattern I can see is that it appears to occur mostly when charging while watching youtube, or listening to an internet stream. Not sure if its an overheating problem.

Try a different battery..
Just in case try this might work but im not sure coz i dont know whats wrong with your X10
1) Wipe everything clean on your phone and also on MMC (I prefer formatting MMC)
2) Then copy the ROM and flash it and also make sure proper kernel and WiFi modules are used

Thanks udupa82, I'm getting a new battery in this days to try it.
Anyways, I'll try what you are suggesting, hope it helps.
Today I tried to calibrate the battery via Xrecovery erasing the battery stats when fully charged, the phone booted up, and only showed 2% on battery, fully charged again, unplugged the cable, and when the battery got to 75% of charge, again it turned off. :crying:
the three terminals in the battery (the middle one is thermistor). put a thin good-electrical-conductor-poor-heat-conductor material on top of the thermister (e.g. graphite). so, ur phone does not think that battery is heating up, so it does not need to shut down to prevent explosion.

I have been battling with my phone shutting down on over heat and sometimes, shutting down for no other good reason that I know. Apart from graphite, which other material can be used. Thanks a lot.

Hello,
I have my SE since March and since May I have this problem. SE is still vibrating, I can do nothing with it. I tried root and reinstall system with flashtool but it didn't help. I've sent it to serivce too, but they said me that I need change motherboard. But I don't wanna do it, cause it is too expansive and it would be better buy new one.
Does anyone have some ideas or solutions how to repair it? I hope that is other way then changing motherboard.
Thank you all.
(And sorry for my English, I'm from CZ and still make some mistakes)
What do you mean?Of course it vibrates when needed. Can you explain your problem a bit?

I mean it vibrates all the time. In interval of 1-2 seconds. When it is locked or turned off, it doesn't vibrate, but when I unlock it, it vibrates all the time.
Havent you left your X10 in some kind of fluid? Or didnt it survive huge rain?
BTW you can PM me, we can talk in czech

Hi,
A few months ago I upgraded to CM7. Was working great until some few days ago when I noticed the phone would reboot each time I took it off the charger when I had been using it as a hotspot. These worsened to the point where it would not start even when on charger. It would boot fine but when it gets to the start screen when it's about to regsiter on network it would restart. when I take out the simcard, it works fine. What could be causing this? Yesterday I upgraded to CM9, and I'm still having the same issue(works fine without simcard). I have also noticed that the radio doesn't work... keeps scanning indefinately, and when I take a picture, the phone shuts down. your help would be much appreciated!!
Try restoring it with seus (backup first), reflash kernel and restore backup/reinstall ROM. That's what I would do.

If you do not have flashmode or fastboot mode you is not repair it. You need to flash stock rom before you flashing your.
BTW. after flashing TA is your BL locked go to the servise. Maybe they will fix it.

Leave the phone without battery for a while and press and hold the power button without battery for 60 sec then leave the phone again for a min or two then insert the battery and try to get into flash mode. If it isnt a hard brick then it'll definitely boot up make sure to keep the flashing stuff ready
