Go over to Droid X2-- Android Development. You can do much more than change a theme.
Have fun

Just make sure you read read read, you don't want to end up with a bricked phone

If you want to improve the performance then you should install cm7 or eclipse. Depends in your comfort level. Make sure to make a nano back up before you erase or make any bug changes. That way if things go bad you can always go back. Also cm7 you can pick from so many free themes from the market and just use theme Chooser to install with one click of a button.

+1 read your ass off. You'll be glad you did.
And don't be frightened if something goes wrong with your phone 9/10 if you think you've bricked it, you haven't. Its kind of hard to do lol

It's basically copy and paste
You could use an auto root from androidcentral or learn adb. It's smart to know adb incase something goes wrong, or you need logcats, etc.

In other news, the pre loaded apps don't do anything negative

Would you care to explain what deodexed means? I've seen term used a few times lately and I have no idea what that means...

Deodex is about removing the odex file that is attached to the OEM files. This allows for modularity regarding themes and roms.

Sprint told me this was a known issue and the problem is with Motorola software and are waiting for a update

I'm coming from the Droid incredible and they use ruu and it takes about 3min. One click and its done. Is there something like this for the razr. Lol. Thanks

Oh ok. Is this something that's pretty simple to do. Cause I'm a lil more cautious rooting since I screwed my first Droid incredible up with rooting it. Lol. So I just trying to get everything straight before i root this phone.

I don't see the harm in learning how to port roms. Having another ROM to try would be awesome and I'm sure the community would appreciate it.

Where's a good place to start? Certain thread?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Start with grabbing a system dump of your device, then replacing system/app folder with the files. Afterwards, edit YOUR framework to match the other one. Afterwards, debug.. is that ROM aosp?

yeah is it AOSP? if not and it has sense, it may be a HUGE pain to port to the dx2. id say start with a motoblur rom from like the atrix and port it, even if you dont want to, its a good, easy way to get your feet wet in the android rom world
