[Q] Live With Walkman Kernel Flash Problem - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi Guys
A strange thing is happening to my wt19.
Here is the deal,I flash the kernel and everything goes fine except when i reboot for the second time the phone, the kernel revert back to the old version (2.6.3.9-perf [email protected] #1 ).
I tried various kernels and reflashed them many times and is always the same thing!
Anyone have any thougth about what is happening?

yeah i am also having the same problem with live with walkman . DO u know wat should be shown there instead of the 2.6.3.9-perf [email protected] #1
and wat will be the build if the flash is successful

someone reply man

hello does anybody know solution for this

You guys are not flashing it properly!
Mine works perfectly...
maybe you guys are not flashing it properly...
Steps for flashing kernel:
1.) Open flashtool (always use the latest version)
2.) Click on the bolt symbol...check the second radio button(second option) fastboot mode. Click Ok.
3.) *IMPORTANT* Click Reboot into fastboot mode (via ADB) *IMPORTANT* (Its on the left side)
4.) Wait for it to go into fastboot mode..the phone led should be blue..
Now, On the right side...click Select Kernel to Flash...and browse & select the boot.img file..
5.) After the log window shows that flashing successful..
click Reboot device into system..
Now check if its the kernel u wanted...
I flash kernels every week...most of the different ROMs have different kernels..but almost all are based on Rage..
P.S: use Rage kernel...best for WT19i...
here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910
Don't forget to hit thanks if i helped!

Are you guys sure you dont use hotboot?
Because if using hotboot kernel is loaded to RAM and removed on next boot.

2) Unable to set up usb connection type. It only works in media transfer mode
3)This firmware has some perfomance problems. Sometimes lags appear on a homescreen,or in application menu
Testing....
is it right to use flash twice the boot.img (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
installed on do como so-03c. Exchange not work. Slow n laggy. But ice cream sandwich is beautiful.

Yes, it's right, because before you install fix from recovery - you flash boot image with recovery. And after that you flash original boot image of ICS
Nice, thx for all Doomlord!

it is not right in this case: not need flash main boot.img twice, enough to start `recoveryRay.img' into memory by `fastboot boot recoveryRay.img' (without flash it). And catch recovery by vol- pressing.
works great for alpha version.
Its just that i got exchange services stop working, and its a little lagy.
I haven't spotted any other problems yet.
Hi there.
Wifi does not work, even if I turn off security on the Router. Why not show the signal strength?

I'm not a developer. I'm just a Rom builder. Developers are like DooMLoRD or Achotjan or Zidzhu or Azuzu. Me I'm just a normal stock Rom builder and editor but it will be ready soon. I have to do a bit at a time to each Rom. X10, ray, arc s. So I know it's taking a long time but I promise it will be ready soon bro

[Q] Xperia p restarting

Hi everyone
a few days ago i have unlocked the bootloader on my xperia p following the official sony instructions.
After that i downloaded and flashed the sliding xp v5 kernel
Everything worked perfect and i wanted to install a custom rom, and i thought that the vision rom would be perfect.
I installed the vision rom v2 in cwm recovery and everything seemed perfect, i like the rom and everything is good but i have a few problems :-/
First i had the problem that sometimes when the screen locks and turns off, when i press the unlock button the screen wont turn on,i can hear that the phone works when i try to take a ss i hear the soind, but the screen wont turn on until i hard restart the phone :-/
The second problem is that the phone just restarts itself randomly sometimes :-/
And the last thin is that when i go in the dialer to call someone it happebs alot of times that the phone lags a lot there and it happens often that when someobe is calling me or when i call someone that it lags and the phone freezes :-/
Can someone tell me why is this happening, because of the kernel or the rom?
and what should i do to fix it,if possible i would like to keep all the settings which i made because i allready personalized it much....
Thanks to everyone in advance

First that came in my mind is that this kernel and the rom are not for eachother - so try to flash munjeni's kernel and the rom again and try it.
Before that flash stock rom via flash tool to make clean install.

Thanks for your quick reply, right now the internet at my home isn't working so i will have to wait before i try it.
I have never used flashtool before so i want to ask you if anything from my phone will be deleted like apps, contacts or something else?
I have also made a backup using cwm before i installed this rom, would it be ok if i just restore the backup, then flash the new kerbel and after that the vision rom again?

First of all the flash stock rom you need to put the ftf file in Flashtool/firmwares
Then connect the device in flashmode and flash rom (device switched off and to enter flashmode just do vol- and put usb in).
When flashing official stock rom as much as i know you will lose data, and its better to have clean install.
If you flash munjeni's kernel and the rom you want, and if you restore the back up that will flash the old boot.image too, i mean the old kernel and that is not wanted.

Yeah buddy, its all in Sola section.

I need help, custom Rom, rooting..

Hello there,
I have decided to ask for help after reading at least 100 threads here and on Android forum. I wanted to get custom ROM, so I've checked all guides - man everything over here, and I still managed to brick my phone! ( yellow triangle and no boot? )
----------
-at first I checked the bootloader, and I managed to unlock it using 2nd option in particular thread - some kind of software SE..+ code
-then downloaded Flashtool - done the drivers, changed firmware in the folder; download. OctanE, Gapps zip to my SD card.
and then I bricked my phone by incorrectly plugging, pressing and all that stuff while in Flashtool.
-so then I got Wotan, followed instruction, and of course I got stuck again.
-so I got LuPuS kernel and successfully flashed it, please do not ask how I have no idea.
Right now i would like to get OctanE, but I get to safe mode only by pressing volume down key.
Can somebody of you guys be so kind and guide me step by step ( I really do not understand what to do, sorry) how to get CWM, how to root it because I've got ROM Manager from Google play and it says the phone's not done.
thanks guys,
Veronika
Dear why you are doing such confusing activity.
Just do one thing if your booloader is unlocked then you just connect your phone to flashtool in fastboot mode and flash suitable custom kernel of your phone, by the way the kernel flashing is 5 seconds process,
And if you have flashed Lupus kernel then use POWER KEY WHEN MOBILE BOOTS UP AND PURPLE LED BLINKS instead of vol key to enter in recovery

Hello,

the problem is that when i flash custom kernel i.e. LuPuS, the phone is still not rooted, this one contains boot.img, and ROM Manager shows incorrect rooting.

Hello,
problem Solved after 10 hours!! of fixing, un-bricking and frustration. Let me explain:
-------
I've had ICS .587 with bootloader unlocked and could not root it by downgrading to .0.62, my phone got bricked everytime. I didn't understand I could just flash pre-rooted one. So I have downloaded, flashed it and it contained CWM aswel.
Then I've flashed custom kernel Vengeance, after that OctanE, but my phone was a bit unstable, so I got LuPuS.
All done, there are too many guides and I got really confused.
Thanks for help

Xperia U stuck in bootloop

Hi
Always happens when you do a favour for someone......
Anyway, i have an xperia U stuck in a boot loop.
1. Ive unlocked the bootloader (that went all ok)
2. Downloaded a prerooted rom and tried to install through fastboot using command line. I couldnt get that working so i used the flashtool to install the rom that way. I renamed the rom system.img and flashed through flashtool and thats pretty where im at now....
If anyone could chip in that would be great
Thanks to anyone that does
Comfy

Hi - thanks for that - im there now - i cant seem to get it into fastboot - the green light comes on but then it carries on trying to boot - is it a timing thing - ie how long i leave the down button pressed?? or is it knackered....oh- thanks for the link as well....
drsanket_xperia_u - just to say thanks for the link - if anyone else comes across this thread i got the image reflashed - for whatever reason (and i dont know why) it was the usb cable that was the problem - i tried 3 different cables at home but the one that worked (by chance as i thought it was knackered) was a long, quite thick blackberry usb cable - just thought id say....
No ive got my rom back on there - the initial problem i had was rooting firstly....havent got to the CWM part or the rom part but once rooted i guess thats the same as most other phones.....now im reflashed is the bootloader locked again.....?
Again thanks for the link - i dont think i would have found that without your help.
Thanks for the Help!
The same happened with me as well! While trying to install JB unofficial from PIPI, I unlocked my BL which went out fine but the mistake I did was I did not copy the JB fw on to my SD-card when the phone was working. Flashed PHANTOM kernel and my phone never started up since
Downloading the stock FW ftf file from the links provided right now!
Thanks a lot

Yeahp just follow the steps:
1. Reflash stock FW
2. Save the kernel and Pipi's JB in the phone
3. Reboot into Recovery (if you don't know how to install recovery let me know)
4. Full wipe
5. Install from SD card (first JB, then kernel)
Hope that works for you :good:

Buddy the Kernel had to be flashed first, because it contains that Recovery option and then I flashed the first copied JB stock!
Anyway, the phone is rocking since and I'm easily playing my current love Dungeon Hunter 4 with a Breeze!! although it closes down after every 10 minutes (approx) of lag-free play :-/

Well that's great. When I said flash kernel after rom I meant PHANTOM zip. Just for future reference, you have to flash boot.img via fastboot first, then go into CWM and follow the steps I posted. I forgot that first step
I think the game thing is because of RAM
Simply Flash the Factory Original Sony Firmware Once Again

I would just flash jackie099's kernel and restore the backup from there - I cant see how flashtool would be failing except for a problem on the PC

Make sure your phone is turned off.
Start Flashtool and click the lightening bolt at the top left and select 'FASTBOOT MODE'.
You should now see a new window of flashtool titled FASTBOOT TOOLBOX.
Plug in your phone while holding the Volume Up button
Back on flashtool: To the far right where it says 'By DOOMLORD', just below that the second option is 'Select Kernel to Flash', click it.
Browse for the .IMG file that you downloaded from the top of this post(which is the boot file for your phone to boot and let you into recovery).
Change the file type that's listed next to File Name at the bottom of the browse window, to .IMG
Select the .img file and it should flash automatically and tell you to check the log list shown right in flashtool before rebooting. If you don't see any errors then go ahead and unplug your device and boot it and try going into recovery.
You should be good to go now.

I think "invalid argument" normally happens on a locked bootloader???
