Hey I wanna ask if you guys can provide me with stock bootanimation? Since I just flashed CF-Root (after flashing XXKPH) and it replaced my stock bootanimation with its own. So yeah, thanks in advance who can provide me with it.

CF-root IS supposed to replace your stock bootanim . I'm sorry but there is NO way to go back to stock .
I am asking for stock "bootanimation.zip". I know IT is supposed to change my bootanimation.

Your bootanimation.zip = bootanimation.qmg

You both are wrong.
What I did was that I copied "bootsamsung.qmg" from "/system/media/" to "/data/local/" and deleted "bootanimation.zip" from there and it worked.

If you read his entire post in the 2 quotes it says flashing in cwm didn't work so he placed it in system\app manually

Thanks buddy for pointing out the completely obvious... Did it ever occur to you we might just be trying to see if it's compatible with the note? Placed manually in /system/app no go. You brain surgeons can give it a try tho

N00b Moment. So system isn't mounted by default?
Correct me if i'm wrong, but it'd be nice if CWM had some method for the app, or for devs to implement auto mounting of necessary partitions or folders.
I'm flashing sometimes, but nothing...

What file manager did you use to place the apk and lib? Did you also have to mount when you transferred those files?

Nobody else mounted system in cwm and flashed the zip? Worked perfect over here
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
For me I got it to work by copied the apk over to the systems/apps dir. Renamed the original then changed the permissions. Works pretty good. The lock screen part seems to have issues for the display. It will show just a default music icon. then when i change a song using the controls, it will find the right text to display. Anyone else seeing that?
Thanks for sharing!

First you need a rom that supports changing of boot animation. If you have stock, then forget about it. You also need a root browser like Solid Explorer Beta 2, Es file explorer etc.
If you have a rom that supports it, then do following->
Download the bootanimation you want. It will be generally "bootanimation.zip".
Go to folder "System/media" and replace the "bootanimation.zip" with new one. And after that, go to properties or whatever and change its permissions to READ WRITE-READ- READ.
If you want to change sound, then its in system/etc named as "PowerOn.ogg"
Hope this helps

Hi guys.
Need some help, using root explorer pro I have put an mp3 file into store/media/ui named 'PowerOn.ogg'
However it doesn't play when I start my phone up !
I had this problem before and I fixed it (somehow) but I cannot remember exactly what I did, now since flashing a new ROM I encountered the problem again.
What can I do? thanks.
I am running Omega v6 with whatever Kernel came with it.
WHile I am here also, is there anyway to get the lockscreen off Jellybean 4.1.2 onto Jellybean 4.2.2 that I am currently running?
I miss my ripple effect

I tried placing PowerOn.ogg in both system/media/audio/ui and system/etc but no juice.
Running cyanogenmod 10.1.3. Any ideas?
Would love to know..
I successfully installed a 4.1.2 version of this animation:

On my 4.2.2. Cyangenmod 10.1.3, and it ran successfully, BUT IT WONT PLAY THE SOUNDS.
I would love to know how to figure out where to put the .ogg file that is in the .zip.

I have tried system/media/ui on Cyanogenmod 10.1.3
And I also have tried system/etc
None of them worked.
I even copied the .ogg file to the ringtone folder and the file does appear as a ringtone option in the phone settings, it is just that I have not found the right folder for the bootanimation.
I used Root Explorer.
Thank y'all for your support!.
Was anyone with the sound glitch able to finally make it work? I am using Cyangenomod and baffled by the lack of documentation on bootanimation sound with that rom.
