Problem Unlock, help me please - HTC EVO 3D

Forgive if not the place...
I have a problem. I can not unlock bootloader.
When I type "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" It answers "sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.142s]
writing 'unlocktoken'...FAILED (remote: unlock token check failed) finished. total time: 0.150s" I have tried reinstalling the drivers and doing it in different pc get the same result.
I configured it correctly repeatedly...
Help please. Thank you, very much.

Check your unlock_code.bin file, its reporting 0kb and that's a null file.
I would also recheck if the phone is being properly id'ed by the OS and there are no further communications issues.

Code, in theory gives correctly...
The conexion is correct (apparently)...
The file Unlock_code.bin is 2 kb.

Try removing the battery off the phone then booting in fastboot and try again.

I did as usual... It answers "FAILED (remote: unlock token check failed) finished. total time: 0.150s"
I repeated the process many times

In the stickies in the dev section football's post has links for the cdma ruu exe's
Make sure you know if your cdma or gsm?
Anyways download the one for hboot 1.49 . Don't snag the latest 2.17 or you will be hboot 1.5 .
When you have the program downloaded your AntiVirus may say something about it cause it is a exe don't worry file is safe.
Hook your phone up to your computer run the program while in hboot..

My model is European, I guess then that is GSM
Think you do have bad structure of Hboot?
Then you can not do? I can do?
Thanks

They're Gsm phone. There are stickies in the GSM Development Section for this, but here's where to go:

[Tutorial] [UNLOCK/ROOT] EVO 3D GSM Hboot 1.49.0011> + S-On [HTC Unlock method] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248231
Unlock via HTC's site. If u get stuck at step13, you may have to reflash the original GSM Ruu (zip or exe) and try again.
[Tutorial - How to revert back to Original ROM for backup or warranty purposes] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262457
(You can likely skip the "goldcard" setup if you can get the correct RUU for your phone/carrier from Football's GSM Ruu thread)
Once unlocked u use fastboot command prompt to flash (& enter) the correct Cwm Recovery (ShooterU ). Make a backup from recovery. Then flash the Su zip like it says in the op. Then your rooted.
Make a new rooted backup from recovery if you like.

To make a CWM Backup, see guide/flashing notes in my signature, go to post 4 (cwm recovery notes) and u can get an idea of how to make w backup. Keep in mind the file links in the thread are for Sprint Cdma phones, so don't use the links. The step-by-step is correct.
The kernel is usually included with the ROM u just need to enter recovery by fastboot command prompt and make sure the ROM & kernel are compatible with your phone/baseband.

Ok, thanks.
I follow the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256208, I hope to get lucky

Solved!!!
I installed "RUU_Shooter_U_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.2_Radio_10.53.9 020.00_10.13.9020.08_2M_release_203403_signed" and it put me Hboot 1.49.007 then I installed Revolutionary Recover S-OFF & Recovery Tool 0.4pre4
Thank you for all!!

[Q] Can't flash RUU, return phone to stock (noob needs help)

Tried following the instructions on this site to flash the latest HTC firmware and I could not install it from 4EXT. Renamed the file to PG86IMG.zip and flashed it from fastboot but hit an error. Tried to run the RUU for my radio version and every single one has hit an error (Update Failed! Main Version is older!).
The phone was originally HBOOT 1.40 S-OFF but it is now HBOOT 1.57 with s-on (which I did). I want to return the phone back to stock and start fresh but I really don't know how. Can I return back to HBOOT 1.40 or do I have to flash to the latest 1.50 and downgrade?
I'm really stumped by this one and any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm as new to the forums as you, but I did a little messing and reading around. In order to return your phone to the same way you bought it, you need to downgrade hboot to version 1.4 and then run the RUU.exe of your firmware version (I'm not sure which version it is for your phone, it was 2.17.651.5 for me but I got my phone with hboot 1.5). The downgrade thread is here [it's very tricky to brick it, make sure the light is a solid faint red (NOT BLINKING) in order to do it successfully]. Hopefully someone else can tell you which RUU version to use (to run before the downgrade if you get the *Security Warning* in hboot, as well as the one to use after in order to return to the way you were when you got the phone). I just downloaded all the RUU's and ran them all until one worked.

Since you got that error, you need to flash the 2.08 or 2.17 RUU.exe to get rid of it. Try running the RUU while in the fastboot menu, and make sure you have the HTC drivers installed on your computer.
Have you tried both RUUs to no avail?
*Edit: I believe the drivers will install if you install HTC sync. Unfortunately I cant post the link to it, but just do a Google for HTC Evo 3D drivers. It's on HTC's website

Tried both
Code:

Both of which gave me the same error. the RUU connects over fastbootusb but halts at a specific point in the install, so I assume I have the right HTC drivers. I can find the install point in question if that would help.

That's really strange. Just to make sure you have the right drivers, go to Control Panel and then to Device Manager and see if your phone is there. It should be under "Android USB devices" or the like. Also, is USB debugging on before the going into hboot?
*Edit: Some more little things, HTC Sync should be uninstalled from your computer, and your phone should be locked.

I used the instructions and download links from androidadvices(dot)com/update-htc-evo-3d-cdma-leaked-ics-403-firmware/. Reading the instructions now I see that I didn't put the phone into USB recovery mode. I can't get back into the ROM to do so and I can't get into my recovery either.
Your currently on hboot 1.57 and thats your your getting an update fail since 2.17 RUU has hboot1.50 Im not sure their is a way to downgrade this firmware unless you try the downgrade method for hboot 1.50 but that could maybe cause in a permanent brick.

I'm trying that now. Hopefully it works!
So I tried bricking the phone using Unknownforce's method but everytime I would try and flash the 2.17 PG86IMG file in fastboot I get the same Hboot Version error. I also tried the Shooter_ICS_35_S_Sprint zip by renaming it to PG86IMG and and flashing in fastboot (since it has the matching hboot version), but I get a CID incorrect error. I'm trying to unlock my bootloader by using the HTC method in order to change the CID, but when I do so it gives me this in terminal.
Code:
C:\rootevo3dnew>fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.151s]
writing 'unlocktoken'...
(bootloader) unlock token check successfully
OKAY [ 0.008s]
finished. total time: 0.159s
C:\rootevo3dnew>fastboot oem writecid htc__001
...
(bootloader) shooter_init_sd, SD card already power on
(bootloader) sdcc_init_memory_device done
(bootloader) [FAT_ERROR] fat_open_file: can not find SMART_IO.CRD
(bootloader) [JAVACARD_ERR] SMART_IO.CRD cann't find
OKAY [ 0.198s]
finished. total time: 0.198s
My bootloader still says it's locked but the unlock_code.bin in ADB looks like it's working. Can anyone tell me what is happening? This is the only thing holding me back from downgrading and it's frustrating

Hey sorry I so abrubtly had to go earlier, did you try again to flash the cwm.img? If you can get into backup and restore I feel as if you might be able to just go back to the previous hboot and ROM you had , not making any promises though.

I believe you don't flash that as boot. You flash cwm.img (clock work mod) as a recovery. Try
C:\rootevo3dnew>fastboot flash recovery cwm.img
*Edit: make sure your cwm.img is in your C:\rootevo3dnew folder.
Then after that, boot into the bootloader and go to recovery to access clockwork mod. See if you have any backups (which will save you a TON of pain by putting you back on hboot 1.4 with whatever former ROM you backed it up with)

Flash back to Stock on the newest OTA?

How would I go on doing this? Use SuperWipe or the RUU?
I need to remove the ROM and get back to Stock without Root so Sprint doesn't go "oh wtf is dis you root omg"
I'm asking this because I'm going to get a replacement EVO 4G LTE tomorrow for reasons.

Just relock, run ruu, check for updates done. I don't know if an RUU is out already for the newest build if it is then it won't find any updates just one less step. It should get rid of the tampered message but it will say relocked instead of locked. Not sure if this will be an issue or not you should post let us know if they say anything or not.

If your s-off then you just need to run the ruu.
If you are s-on then you need to relock the bootloader via fastboot
The fastboot command is: fastboot OEM relock
Then run the ruu for whatever baseband you are on currently.
Reboot and done.

Read this post for an explanation.
You will need to either HTC unlock your bootloader, which is not recommended since it will leave a flag on your phone that it was modified, or flash a custom bootloader for your model. I don't have links to any for a GSM phone but I'm sure someone else can help.

You will need to either HTC unlock your bootloader, which is not recommended since it will leave a flag on your phone that it was modified, or flash a custom bootloader for your model. I don't have links to any for a GSM phone but I'm sure someone else can help.

I'm not familiar with the GSM hboots and didn't recognize 1.49.0007 as a Revolutionary version, but since you are S-OFF you could try flashing one of the JBear modified bootloaders from this page. I know they support the extended fastboot commands like "flash" and "erase". You might have to flash it from your current bootloader as PG86IMG.zip in the root of your SD card.

ok, i have solved, after the method E i have used the revolutionary method and now i have hboot 1.49.1107 revolutionary, hboot 1.49.0007 was not revolutionary xD
Same hboot as me, you may now back up your gb crap (nandroid) flash the updated your firmware and flash away, the bonus is you can flash any Rom with that hboot. As I have not had any bootloops, from miui, sense 3.6 or sense 4.1

Basically I was given a bricked HTC evo 4g LTE. When I try to power it on normally it stays on the white "HTC quietly brilliant" it also says "this ROM is for development purposes only" under that.. when I boot into the boot-loader it says

There is no recovery, when I try to boot into recovery through adb via a cmd prompt or any other way it just reboots into fast boot. The firmware version is 3.16.xxxxxx
I would really appreciate a walkthrough or at least some tips/help on what to do. I figured getting s-off would be the best place to start but no luck so far

Have you tried running a ruu to get an OS back? Sounds like all you need. Then use dirty racun or face palm for s off
Edit: Btw you are far from bricked my friend...

You need to unlock your bootloader, follow the instructions on big daddy's thread and the flash a recovery, you are re-locked... Then install a rom with a soon kernel installer or fastboot the boot.img
from my EVO using xda app-developers app
There is no RUU for my current firm ware. Only zip files.
You don't need a RUU... Just go to htcdev.com and follow the instructions to unlock your bootloader... Leave your phone in fastboot and flash twrp... Download either meanbean or viper rom which have s-on installers baked in and follow the instructions in the respective OP
Edit: go to this thread and follow instructions from step 1 to step 3a...

Once you do that reboot into twrp and wipe everything then install a ROM with a s-on kernel installer...

And no you don't Need an ruu but I wasn't sure your direction with all of this.
Unlocking and installing a custom recovery is fine like stated above.
Just read through all the s off directions to get an idea of the prerequisites and what you will need to accomplish it.

Right on thanks guys. Never owned an HTC device before, so some of this new to me. I usually stick to Samsung, or LG.

Whats up XDA! First, thanks for all the help to the community. I would REALLY appreciate your help on this... I have the same problem here.(Bought the phone of someone in this condition.) After reading tons of threads I'm still stuck. I've tried to gain S-OFF by HTCdev and after pasting the unlock token this is what I got:
Error Code: Invalid Bootloader Token Length.
Error Reason: The submitted Token appears to be the wrong length and won't work.
(And I made sure everything on it was pasted onto the box.) no missing characters. Tried a few times and still the same.
Also tried to push OTA through cmd following another thread and this was the result:
C:\ANDROID>fastboot oem rebootRUU
...
(bootloader) Start Verify: 3
OKAY [ 0.094s]
finished. total time: 0.094s
(went from bootloader screen to a black screen with HTC on it.
then...
C:\ANDROID>fastboot erase cache
erasing 'cache'...
OKAY [ 0.125s]
finished. total time: 0.125s
And then...
C:\ANDROID>fastboot flash zip jewel_jb_ota_firmware.zip
sending 'zip' (20142 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.219s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 4.313s
Please any help is appreciated.

PM bigdaddy619 regarding your issue with the unlock token. As far as S-off goes, once your bootloader is unlocked you will need to use Dirty Racun.
Also, HTC never released an RUU for the latest OTA, so you can't RUU. There is an RUU tool in the development section for the latest OTA but you must be S-off to use it.

Rooting problem htc evo 3d x515m gsm

Hello guys. First to mention that maybe my English is bad since i'm form Serbia. I've tried to unlock bootloader, "How to Root HTC Evo 3D GSM!" on HTCEVOHACKS
To downgrade hboot from 1.53.0007 to 1.49.0007 and to s-off "How to Downgrade to HBOOT 1.49.0007 on HTC Evo 3D GSM!" on HTCEVOHACKS
I did every single thing that needed to be done, with first method, i got stuck on this
"sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.144s]
writing 'unlocktoken'...
FAILED (remote: unlock token check failed)
finished. total time: 0.157s", and then i've tried solution with RUU.exe, i think i found right one for my phone, finished rooting successfully, and i've tried again to unlock bootloader, but bum, the same thing with command prompt fails to write unlocktoken. With second method for downgrading i have changed CID as it says to HTC__001 i think, but on next steps i had no luck, it just finishes all work with command prompt, but on phone won't show that it's installing rom as on the video, just shows htc logo and then just boots up to android, hboot still 1.53 and S-on.
Other info:
ICS 4.0.3
Software number 3.28.401.1

HBOOT-1.53.0007

The app is useless, don't work at all, it says it's rooted, but it's not -.-
Guys, anyone here for real help?!
Please, anyone???
Use kingoanderoideroot. To root your device.
And if you want to unlock bootloader I will tell you a simple trick
Just connect your device with your pc in fastboot USB mode.
Open kingoroot.
Start root process .
It will take some time or may be fail many times but not more then 6 Time .
After this you will see a bootloader unlock screen if you click yes it will unlocked or no means no.
Enjoy. I personally root and unlocked my HTC EVO 3d x515m with kingoroot.
Don't forget to hit thanks .so we can help you more.
