Anyone see the latest Note commercial? Showing all the S Pen functions? The end it says, sometimes its more than smileys and lol's.

Just tried to do gchat with a galaxy nexus with the phones next to each other and the galaxy s3 emits a loud screeching sound, like 2 microphones that were to close to each other. This only occurred with the s3 while the nexus had no problems. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Did the same thing with a iTouch we tried on. I'm curious if it had to do with being on the same WiFi.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Shouldn't be. S3 was using 4g while nexus was on WiFi.... so I'm assuming I'm not the only one? Can anyone else add on to this?

They are probably giving each other feedback. Try having one phone in one room and one in another. The problem will probably disappear.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
It does disappear when I'm in another room. But I guess it's a little disturbing that only the gs3 will get feedback but the nexus won't. Guess no Google hangout with multiple phones in the same room....although I don't see the purpose of that.

I was curious if an application has been made that mimics galaxy 3 functions? Specifically, the front camera smart turn off function instead of a timer
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda premium
Galaxy 3 is an old budget phone without a front camera.
Anyway yes the app you are looking for may be found on the Play Store if you tried to actually search.

I was referring to the galaxy s3, Samsung newest phone. if you wouldn't mind mister high and mighty tell me the app name? I couldn't find it. the app on the phone is embedded into touchwiz so that's a no go

You know the multitasking thing Samsung has? Is it possible on our phones?
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Even if it is possible, I don't think it's really all that. I had the Note 2 for about 2 months and the only time I found the multiview useful was for showing off..lol

It's one of those wow features that's nice to have but really doesn't need to exist. I would rather have a bar at the top with tabs for apps then multiple windows.
would be a great feature to have if watching/listening to youtube and you need to send a quick text or answer a call. Try and do that currently and it kills the app.

Sounds like me, found a story/solution about an app called "floating YouTube popup" in appstore... Give that a try....works awesome.

Hey guys, chemistry v6 had multi-tasking embedded. It works awesome.

I have this feature on my Samsung Note 10.1 and I use it all the time. I find myself looking for the multi window button on my LTE allot only to remember that we don't have that ability.

Didn't Sony have some sort of "tiny apps" that float over running apps?

Can I see some SPen examples or atleast told a few things they can do ? Maybe I don't have any uses for it or just don't know its benefits of what it can do ?
Or pointed to another thread I missed on its advantages of picture manipulation or CAD examples or anything ?

Like if you hold the button on the pen and make a arrow pointing left it will act just like the back button
More stuff like this ???

I like using mine for handwriting to text. With spen switcher it automatically changes from Swype to the stock keyboard in handwriting mode when I remove the pen.
I like to use it for navigation on the device. GMD spen control is what Samsung's gestures should have been.
I also like to use it with photo editing apps.

You got any pictures for examples ? Would love to see

Settings->S-Pen-> S Pen Help.
Not sure why people have so much trouble finding that. I went through it the first day I had the phone.

Sorry im a Dumb a$$ but there should be more example than the help files show to use the pen. The help files are vague anyways. If that is all the pen does it dont really compliment the n2 as much as I thought.

The spen can also act as a mouse hover on websites like NBA.com

The s-pen also automatically scrolls for you. If you're using the pen and you hover near the bottom of the page the page will scroll down with no other action on your part.

Just got the 2014 and was wondering if anyone has come across a split keyboard for it or even a Swype version for it? Been using Swype since my G-II days,... very comfortable with it. But sure wished I could find a split keyboard option. Thanks!

The native samsung keyboard splits. Push and hold the mic icon chose split, normal or floating. If you dont like that try swiftkey or thumbsplus both are good

Since you mention Swype, the Play Store version does have a split function as well.
Try SwiftKey. I have and it's the best yet. I think. There is a free trail version in the play store. Swipe works in split mode to. Takes a little to get use to.
Sent from my SM-P600 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Another keyboard you might like to try is one of the original split keyboards on the market in thumb keyboard. Tons of customization options to fit it to how you want it to feel like. I used it on my other tablets before the Note. I'm mainly stick to stock because it like the ability to write from time to time and it has native split like others have mentioned.

Try Multiling keyboard from PlayStore

Kii is by far the best split keyboard I've used. I've tried swiftkey and swype but always go back to Kii.
