Multi Window multitasking? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

You know the multitasking thing Samsung has? Is it possible on our phones?
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2

Even if it is possible, I don't think it's really all that. I had the Note 2 for about 2 months and the only time I found the multiview useful was for showing off..lol

It's one of those wow features that's nice to have but really doesn't need to exist. I would rather have a bar at the top with tabs for apps then multiple windows.

would be a great feature to have if watching/listening to youtube and you need to send a quick text or answer a call. Try and do that currently and it kills the app.

Sounds like me, found a story/solution about an app called "floating YouTube popup" in appstore... Give that a try....works awesome.

Hey guys, chemistry v6 had multi-tasking embedded. It works awesome.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

I have this feature on my Samsung Note 10.1 and I use it all the time. I find myself looking for the multi window button on my LTE allot only to remember that we don't have that ability.

Didn't Sony have some sort of "tiny apps" that float over running apps?

Evo lte and fast typing

Anyone notice that the HTC evo lte can't keep up with fast typing? For example when you type real fast the words get all jumbled and the vibration feedback stutters. Never had this problem on og evo.

I had the same problem... I switched back to SwiftKey and the problem was solved!
Try a different keyboard maybe? Swiftkey is the absolute best available, and I would recommend it even to someone who wasn't having any issues.
Haven't had this issue, it might be your keyboard. Had the issue with the sensation and stock ICS keyboard.
The only time I ever experienced that was when I had the sound/clicks turned on. But even then it wasn't often. Since turned off and NO LAG HERE!
I have used a few different keyboards, but with all sounds, vibration, dictionaries and corrections disabled and don't have any problem on any normal things. Ie most apps.
But, typing into most web forms IS very slow and buggy, with any keyboard and with at least both the stock and dolphin hd browsers. One particularly annoying bug is that once you've typed a line or so, and try to position the cursor back in the middle to make an edit, the spot where text will be erased or added is nowhere near where the cursor is. And it's very slow & laggy. That's most blogs and article comment things.
Typing this into xda premium app is no problem.

Flawless here with SwiftKey. Typing on Chrome when it first starts sometimes lags a tiny bit but nowhere else. Matter of fact I'm typing so fast right now most of these words sfs care misspelled, SwiftKey just knows me too good <3
I even have haptic feedback on (albeit at very small vibration) but I like it that low because it makes the letters feel "fuzzy".

I shouldn't have to turn off sounds and haptic to resolve this. Never had the problem with og evo. This is definitely an issue for me.

It's all about that SwiftKey...never had that prob with it before.
I'm a long time SwiftKey fan, but I have to say I do like the Swype beta a lot. Don't like the keypad layouts as much and not being able to back Swype to delete a word makes me sad, but I can be really fast and accurate with this thing.

I get quite a bit of lag when I type in landscape mode in the stock Web browser. This is with SwiftKey.

Swiftkey flow

I was under the impression that the spen would not work with flow, but it does! Sure am missing the dedicated number row though. If it had that it would be perfect.

I can deal without a dedicated number row. Just turn your long press sensitivity down.

agreed on both parts. i can type amazingly fast with it
I love it. It has all the functionality of SwiftKey plus flow, so if you don't like flow you can use it just like you can use the normal SwiftKey.
I took nosit1's advice and turned long press sensitivity down to make numbers easier. Love it! Now just need to figure out how to swipe to erase like on the non - swipe version and I will be perfectly content.

Does anyone know how to disable it from showing up on the Widget Locker lockscreen? I'm trying to have it so that I have to unlock the phone to see the pop up, but it's not working for me. I put com.ninja.sms in the disable popups thing but it still pops up.

Trying out this app one thing I don't get is how do I send messages? And is there away to see all my messages using ninja app? Or is this app only a quick text reply app.
Edit: so I guess it's just a quick reply app.

This was available before chat heads was so that's part of it.
Also chat heads has seemed laggy to me when typing multiple messages where I don't have that issue with this.

Best SMS app I've tried.
I'm very picky with sms apps as I don't like the idea of sharing my my sweet nothings with someone else's server (paranoia alert!) but, this app does what I want without that fear. I like the idea of picking who it alerts to and that I can keep my chats minimised while doing other things. I use sms flash and this app works really well with it as I use that app to alert me for pin codes and everyone else (because I don't use the reply feature) and Ninja for the important peeps. Cheers Dev!

It doesn't popup on lockscreen though. I find that a must have feature that gosms has. I would also like to initiate a conversation on it and you can't.

SPen Examples ???

Can I see some SPen examples or atleast told a few things they can do ? Maybe I don't have any uses for it or just don't know its benefits of what it can do ?
Or pointed to another thread I missed on its advantages of picture manipulation or CAD examples or anything ?

I like using mine for handwriting to text. With spen switcher it automatically changes from Swype to the stock keyboard in handwriting mode when I remove the pen.
I like to use it for navigation on the device. GMD spen control is what Samsung's gestures should have been.
I also like to use it with photo editing apps.

Sorry im a Dumb a$$ but there should be more example than the help files show to use the pen. The help files are vague anyways. If that is all the pen does it dont really compliment the n2 as much as I thought.

Nice
I don't have a HTC one but you could try turning on the "force gpu rendering" option in the developer options setting.
Or you could have a app that's misbehaving in the background and stealing your cpu power.
Download watchdog and see if anything out of the ordinary is running in the background.
