Why Fatal1ty ROM?
This ROM is developed with just one intention in mind. Performance and stability without bugs and compatibility with all the latest and greatest Gingerbread Mods available for Galaxy SII.
Purpose: Mod your SII the way you want. We just provide the CORE, which supports all possible modding
Why Fatal1ty is not pre-themed?
Theme is a user preference. And we don’t want a good base ROM to be pre-themed so the users has to go through uninstalling, theme restoring, installing restore packages etc before updating their preferred theme. Update: The purpose and motto of Fatal1ty ROM will still remain as it is, but Fatal1ty themes will be provided as a seperate package. Have a preview of the package on the second post
Keep the base simple and clean
Who should download this ROM?
This ROM is only for those who wants a strong base on which they can customize to their needs. I repeat, don’t expect Jazzy looks and colorful icons on this ROM. It will remain stock, but you have your options available from the theme masters for S2 like Vertumus and Tigerkay. It was developed for a fraternity of S2 users and since the feedbacks were awesome thought of sharing it in XDA
Please Read: Fatal1ty rating was hit badly because of download issues since the free file hosting servers ditched us due to heavy traffic on downloads. The issue is taken care for now with Fatal1ty Fans coming for help and saved this project. I would like to mention and give a special thanks to dan96815 for coming forward and providing with his mediafire premium download link. Installation (Full Wipe Highly Recommended to unleash 100% performance) even though Fatal1ty is a No Wipe Version
Not rooted yet / no Custom ROM
Root phone by flashing a kernel that’s auto root (CF or Redpill.tar) or any other way that gives you root and cwm.
Copy downloaded ROM zip file in root dir of sd card.
Boot to recovery (Press and Hold Volume Up+ Home Button, while holding them, Press Power button to turn on, release all three keys together). You will be in recovery mode
Wipe Data/cache/dalvik cache.
Flash zip from internal sd card.
The first boot would take some time as the dalvik cache is rebuilt, dont panic!!
Already rooted / on Custom ROM
Copy downloaded ROM zip file in root dir of sd card.

How will I access Recovery Mode?
Turn off your SII. Press and Hold Volume Up+ Home Button, while holding them, Press Power button to turn on, release all three keys together @ Galaxy Boot Logo). You will be in recovery mode
Once you have JKAY or Vertumus Domination installed, you can add shortcut for Download and Recovery mode in status bar or power button menu
I don’t see some stock applications I use, what should I do?
Fatal1ty ROM has been slim down keeping performance in mind and some stock applications are removed. Do let us know so we can help you with the application you need, even though most of the critical applications are still kept in the ROM

How does this rom differ from others? It has most tweaks from HyperDroid..all mods are known to be used in other roms..its just another stock looking modd rom...not a bad thing but not a great thing too...

prosumerhacks. I had mentioned before, this ROM was made for a closed group and it was updated here because of the feedback given after usage. Found it to be stable and fast and best of all battery efficient. So thought of uploading it. You will get multiple cars with different brand names and same specs, but some shine really well in the mass crowd. I'm just another small ROM cooker who thought of sharing something which I felt has come out well.. Thats all..

If you were keen on sharing, it would have been great if you had put down in descriptive terms how you cooked this stable rom? From all the feedback and discussions on latest gb releases its pretty evident that stock la4 itself is really good...moreover you have jkay mode + HyperDroid tweaks + Red pill kernel + other modds.... so its bound to be good unless you do something intentional to make it bad... its like reinventing the wheel when you really didn't have to..

Did i anywhere mention that I have done something great? Did I hide anything? I have mentioned in detail from where and what tweaks are added after getting consent with the original developers. The purpose was simple, get all the great mods in one ROM for my personal use, and its here right now. Its for you to choose if you want to install or not

no i actually like the ideas of this...
if more bloatware is removed and MMS.apk is modded to convert into mms after 200 sms
and can add 100 recipient instead of 10, plus tweak the stock camera to shoot higher quality videos and better sound...
if u slim it down right.. i'm pretty sure u can get it to 200 mb~ without removing much of the stock app

Hi, good rom but nothing is amazing and she looks ( not the theme, the rom ) to all the others rom... Nothing is new.
I think you must put some others tweaks who are useful and put some of YOUR tweaks.
I can understand, that's the beginning of your rom, but in your next release try to make a better rom . My comments are only to help you, nothing is sad.

The ROM has 3 Editions, we use Abbreviations to make it easier to type about.
Another Thing is that our ROM version is counted using Roman Numbers (e.g. I, II, III, IV, V..)
Now let's get to the abbreviations:

You may ask yourself about Simplistic ROM Control.
Well basically if you know AOKP ROM Control then you'll be familiar with it. Porting these features wasn't as easy as you think, and there is some features coded by me.
Simplistic Control is found inside the settings of both SD and LE Simplistics, pushed with a nice Icon to match settings.
Of course with time we will be able to get more features working, and even code features. So everything you see inside the Control APP works.
The ROM installation involves the same procedure that all ROMs use.
Important: Simplistic PS and LE are NON-WIPE
while Simplistic SD is A WIPE version.
To install the ROMs (applies to all editions):
*Download the Zip, don't extract it.
*Move the zip to the internal sdcard of your phone
*(Root Required) reboot into ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM)
*Use volume buttons and home or power button to navigate. Choose Install Zip from sdcard.
* Then, Choose zip from internal sdcard. Navigate to the ROM desired, and select it.
*Highlight "YES" and confirm, then wait till it finishes
*Reboot and you're DONE! Wait till the phone boots.

-Removes "Simplistic ROM I" from expanded statusbar.
-Removed home button lag, home button reacts really fast now.
-Added SIP settings (SIP Over 3G works)
-Added Simplistic Boot app, it will generate a notification on every boot, this isn't intended to be disturbing, but to fix the statusbar disappearing problem.
-Added AOSP Calendar, while not breaking Contacts app, so there are no FC. (This will delete TW Calendar)
-Added T9DB for keyboards from LP2
-Added Chinese typing and reading support back.
-Deletes SecPhone.apk which is always running and doing nothing useful.

Has anyone tried this rom yet? It would be interesting to see if there're the same data connectivity problems encountered in the other roms out here on xda, based on the latest KPA, LP1 and LP2.
I for one am using wanam's rom LP1 based which I found to be the most stable and which is of most importance to me, without 3G problems, but will definetely give this one a try tomorrow.

The cooks on this forum are fantastic and i have learnt a lot from them, but I prefer the Samsung ROM to stay as close to stock as possible.
Ideally, the choice to theme the ROM, add AOSP apps or even remove ringtones should rest with the user and this preference changes from person to person.
Also, excessive removal of system files whose functions are not fully understood can lead to further instability. Personally, i think its the most stable and battery efficient ICS ROM i have come across.
It takes hours of effort to keep updating and maintaining the ROM and OTA packages with nothing much to look forward to at the end! If you really want to keep this thread updated and help me put in more effort, you can

Installation
Flash the zip file in Recovery mode. It is a No wipe ROM but it is highly recommended that you do a full wipe/factory reset from CWM before flashing this ROM.
On first boot-up after flashing, your screen may be blank with just the notification bar.
This is perfectly normal as some of the graphics library files need to be initialized.
Simply reboot the phone from the power menu and you will get the normal Android welcome screen on rebooting.

Also, please ensure that following before uploading a new package on OTA,
The package is self tested and compatible with the latest released version of GalaxyMOD ROM.

FAQ's and Quick Fixes
A] Workaround for lack of option for vibrate+sound
1) Visit https://market.android.com/details?i...dManager&hl=en OR search for Sound Manager in your phone's Market and install it. (Thanks to Daniel Roozen)
2) Open the Sound Manager app and press the menu soft-key on your phone.
3) In the Menu popup, touch Vibrate settings.
4) Ensure that for both calls and notifications, the option "Vibrate whenever possible" is selected.
5) Press the back soft-key and exit the app. Test if notifications in any app (Messaging, whatsapp, Gmail etc.) work.
6) Even if you uninstall the Sound Manager app and the fix will still prevail.
B] Workaround unable to install on SD card error (Credits to aab44)
Use the kernel fix suggested here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510560
OR
1) Goto Settings --> Storage --> Scroll down and select Unmount SD card.
2) Accept the Application might be open dialog box and proceed.
3) Now try to install any apps that might have given errors previously and they should install correctly.
4) Remount SD card when needed.
C] Fix for Empty My Apps in Market (Thanks to ken218)
1) Visit https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kstudio.marketfixer OR search for marketfixer in your phone's Market and install it.
2) Open the Market fixer app and click on "Load Market Data" button
3) After the scanning completes uninstall each of those apps (select and click on Delete checked entry).
4) Market should be fixed now, use available alternatives like AOSP gallery if necessary apps like Default gallery are suggested to be removed.
D] Reduce font size like in CM9 (Thanks to Sam Lu)
1) Visit https://market.android.com/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.bfont OR search for Big Font in your phone's Market and install it.
2) Open the app and choose a font size of your choice. You can even disable the notification icon.
E] Method to install Swype which can be updated (Unlike default Samsung versions)
1) Visit http://beta.swype.com/ and register/login.
2) Use the link received in your Beta invitation and visit it from your phone.
3) The link will provide the download for a SwypeInstaller app. Install it and follow instructions to get a proper and always updated version of Swype for your phone.
F] How to use the GalaxyMOD updater app (Credits to diddsen)
1) Open GalaxyMOD Updater and press the menu key and go to "Configuration" > "Extra Update Settings" > "Manage Extra Servers"
2) Now, press menu there and select "Update Featured Extra Servers" > "Yes"
3) Press menu and select "Update Featured Extra Servers"
4) Now click menu again and select "Enable"
5) Select "Enable all Extra Servers"
6) Go back and in ROM update settings select both checkboxes "Display all ROM updates" and "Display experimental ROMs"
7) Go back and restart the app and press the check now button, the tabs should now be populated
Thanks for posting your work, I've been waiting for a good stock ICS rom which is stable enough to use as a daily driver. Battery life seems to be good aswell.

That is a common LPB bug, just cover the proximity sensor on top for a moment and the screen will be back again. Also, this will happen only for the first call after every reboot. Hope Samsung fix this issue in the next build.
This happens due to the wrong initial state set for the proximity sensor on boot, will try for a fix from my side.

Am on vacation for 3 days and will leave in a few hours. I ideally didn't want to tamper with the base ROM as i would have preferred to keep it as vanilla as possible. It does not seem to be possible to create this lidroid style via an update package as its a framework change.
Will still try to find some other solution or upload a modified base.

Thank you...It would be great to have only lidroid style added. Nothing more. I like stock too. I added a battery mod and now things are much more according to my taste. Of course Lidroid style would be the remaing option.
My feedback. Just one phone freeze, mostly due to internet connection.
I am testing the kernel and I have a lot of partial wakeups....especially in Audio out...I hope battery life will be good here...
I have put together a flashable zip for the 14 toggle status bar. Its ics themed and i used the one from bezke's rom. Thanks to bezke and lidroid for this and i dont know how to create my own flashable zip so i used the one for the socialhub but all those files are removed and it only contains the ones needed for the status bar. Hope its ok i did that for those wanting to use it.

Great addition. Thank you. It would be great to remove the ICS theme on your zip and make it look like TouchWiz but personally I can live with that.
Now at least this stock ROM is almost perfect, plus the Sammy beta firmware bugs.

Are you sure these are from bezke's rom? What version of bezke's rom did you obtain them from?
great rom, but i have a problem with some apps claims cannot install on SD, svox + trial italian language pack is one of these.

DOWNLOAD ICZARAKI V01
Please DO NOT MIRROR ! PM me if you want a Mirror and I will make one !
Instructions :
1. Download the ROM
2. Place in in your SD Card
3. Flash nAa-04-ics
4. Reboot into CWM, full wipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and wipe battery stats
5. Flash the ROM
6. Reboot and enjoy
NOTE :
1. This ROM will only work with nAa's ICS kernel. Do not pester me if you decide to pull some smartass stunt and use another kernel.
2. You do not need to flash any Google Apps. It's already included in the ROM.
3. During an update, there's no need to full wipe. Each update will preserve your data.
Battery Drain : So far, I have not experianced any battery drain and I usually get 1 day + of battery life with really heavy use. If you are having battery drain, try this
Charge your phone up to 100%
Go to CWM Recovery with the charger still plugged in and wipe battery stats and dalvik cahce
Reboot and you will notice the 100% battery has dropped to about 96%. Let it charge till 100% again
When it displays 'Charged', pull out the charger and lave the phone alone for about 5 minutes.
Use the phone like normal and make sure you drain it to 0% before charging in the future (let the phone die out by itself when it's 0%)
Charge it to 100% again and repeat step 4 again.
Hopefully that would have fixed your battery drain.
NOTE : It is advised to follow those steps especially if you're coming from another ROM

Tips for Better/Faster Performance
1. Overclock, as always my values, which I think should be ok for most is Min CPU = 245mhz, Max CPU = 729mhz/748mhz
2. Enable zRam (either 18% or 26%).
3. Enable KSM.
4. Disable CPU Rendering (may decrease Antutu Scores and bla bla bla)
5. Delete system apps that you don't use or think you could substitute with something better from the Play Store
6. Don't bloat your system with useless apps.
7. Create and use a Swap Partition if you have a fast SD Card (IMO, class 6 and above)
8. Use any tweaks, mods, apps that you think may help. P.S. If something goes wrong or some bug is created via these tweaks and etc, please don't report them here.
9. Use This MOD by CnC ROCK. It should provide some free memory for those of you obsessed with free momory on ICS ROMS
Note : These are my and others personal recommendations for a better experience on ICZaraki. The fun part about Android is you can conduct multiple trial and errors to venture out and discover a totally new performance tweak. That's why I urge many to try and report if they make a breakthrough. I'll gladly add it to this post. However, they must be proven to work (at least 2-3 people who agree they work) and they mustn't f*ck up the ROM

Improve battery
Go to Settings >Application Manager> All> Disable Samsung Account & Software Update
Download a Startup Manager from the market. uncheck all unnecessary "user" start up apps such as games/cleaners/browsers/etc
Go to "system" start up apps (BE VERY CAREFUL, THIS CAN LEAD TO BOOT-LOOPS AND FC'S} un-check all-share/play store/maps/talk/wifi direct/youtube/googleplus.
Also jb's new power saving mode is amazing compared to any battery saver off the market such as juice defender. Sammy's built in battery saver limits processor power so only the energy which needs to be used is used .in fact i always keep my phone on battery saving mode even on full battery.
of course don't keep all sensors such as rotation, etc and services such as wifi/bluetooth/gps if you are not using it.

Just flashed a few different roms over the last half hour. Compared this rom to FullNeat rom as well as WanamLite, and this rom is significantly faster than Neat, and noticeably faster then Wanam. Fastest to Wifi lock too, by far (imo). Nailed what matters. Now I've just got to delete a couple system apps, look for a battery indicator, and maybe re-arrangable toggles and I've found the perfect rom!

Three words. Love this rom! It's stable, it's not bloated, it's fast as hell, I only had the rom for about 2 days now so I don't know about the battery. But it's still awesome. Keep up the good work!

Just some feedback
I've been using version 1.5 since release date (4 days) and I must say I'm very pleased with the speed and stability of this ROM. Previously running NeatRom Lite since november-2012, I'm used to a fast and responsive mobile that took me along the day without any fc's and a battery that lasted all day and more without any extra tweaking.I was a little hesitant to change/try out a different ROM, but nothing ventured, nothing gained....and I'm glad I did take the leap. Boots in no time and SO battery friendly....and the speed of my apps is just awesome! Try this ROM, that's my advice and recommendation.I must admit I haven't stayed away completely from using a NeatRom feature...currently I've added and running LS8 Aroma Mods without any problems and enjoying it's very nice add ons. Just to inform anyone interested that I've finally connected my SGS2 to my charger, showing me that 20% remains of the battery power. 20% and my phone's been powered on since day one after flashing the Militant Rom...and do be aware that I have Google Current, Flipboard and my companies Exchange Server mail push service constantly on-line..! To clarify: The last charge was 45 hours ago, fully charged with a wall outlet connected charger. Fully charged again my S2 now starts its second round with Militant Rom

Have been using it for about a week without any problems and it's lightning fast. I recommended to all my friends with a galaxy s2 and they will rate your thread with 5 stars and will be using your rom. If the Blu version comes out I will definetely try it. I recevied the best battery life with Siyah Kernel and Many40 tweaks receiving a Screen on time of about 7 hours. Which is very great. Will test if the Blu version makes any difference. Thanks a lot

Hi kuljit55, want to congratulate you on this great rom! I've been using it for 3 days now and it's just fast and smooth with no battery drain, FCs or freezes. This is after I tried several other LS8 roms which all have battery drain. There's no need for me even to switch kernel. Fantastic rom!

It is very light at the moment, after getting feedback, i will remove another 20mb worth of bloat, change the build information to Neat_Full
_Militant_v1.5 and i might add the hacked non convert sms app, depending on how stable it is, as staleness is my main concern here.

thank you, yes i am also getting very good battery life/ no force closes /crashes/ etc, please be sure to read my battery saving tips they work really well. Also if you can help me find a solution to removing the camera shutter sound and Samsung's sms to mms convert i will be very greatfull, i was wondering if anyone had posted the modded camera and SMS apk as of yet or i may just extract them from neat rom lite and create a extra flashable zip for people who want these features.
Also 1.5 is done and uploaded but i cant post a link until i get at least 1 other tester then myself to clean flash and tell me if the edited Build.prop is working smoothly.

Sooooo... We've been dancing around making a rom long enough and even though it started as an s5 project, the little (not so little...) snappy Note 4 came along and kinda changed our plans for release.
We're not new to android, but kinda new in rom development as a team. And even though I am (dax) is the one doing the OP on this one, you should know that it's really a two people work. My amazing partner and dear friend @Wuby986 is as much of an OP to this thread as I am and if it were possible, this thread would be published by the both of us.
This rom is for n910F variant ONLY! It has not been tested on any other qualcomm variant and is DEFINATELY not suited for exynos variants. The kernel flashes based on the dev block address so PLEASE!!! if you use on other variants do it at your own risk even more than the n910F users!!!
PLEASE backup your EFS before you begin ANYTHING custom! That's why we strongly recommend rooting before flashing recovery and any custom rom. Please use the amazing EFS backup and restore tool by @dr.ketan that can be found HERE!!! And dont forget to THANK him!
So we have a rom that includes:
BTU build PDA N910FXXU1ANJ4
1. Rooted, zipaligned, busyboxed, de-knoxed, deodexed, stock kernel (still no sources :crying::crying::crying:!!!)
2. 4-way reboot (translated so far to Italian, Russian and Hebrew)
3. Call recording enabled natively and xposed friendly
4. Private mode is working fully (thanks to @Wuby986 for his amazing mod for s5 that now is ported to Note 4!!!)
5. SecMMS mods - anyting that was possible... removed from call logs, backup and restore open, increase recipients limit... and so on!
(thanks to @jovy23 here)
6. All kinds of CSC mods, all remained in other.xml to be xposed friendly (such as secondary symbols on keyboard, sms mods, browser exit prompt, call button in logs, automatic input mode... and, seriously, too many more)
7. White themed samsung keyboard with larger buttons (was once requested from me by the GREAT @firasusman, and is and will forever remain the Assassin keyboard!!! :good. Now on the note4!
8. Fixed layout for the hebrew keyboard and reverted back to s5 style (Samsung, what were you thinking???)
9. Increased number of available options for Quick Settings to 15
10. Unlocked Personal message on lock screen
11. Unlocked native samsung Lockscreen torch (volume up) - in display and wallpapers menu
12. 3Minit Battery mod (THANK YOU, @gharrington and @pas2001!!! You rock, guys! Please thank this amazing thread here!). About 85 of my own batteries included in the app (lots of colors, all with gradient)
13. Potato gradient for status bar included (THANK YOU, @mariozawa!!! Original thread here!)
14. Somewhat expanded status bar ( we just like it better this way)
15. Fixed InCallUI buttons for RTL (moved the end call button where it belongs - to the right thumb!) and moved the expand and dial container to the left where it belongs in RTL
16. All available locales enabled by editing language.xml
Well this is it FOR NOW! Hopefully much more to come. We felt there was an acute lack of roms for this amazing variant, so we turned what was a "personal mod project" into a rom.
Installation Instructions:
1. You will need a custom recovery. You can use either CWM or TWRP. I only tried installing on TWRP and worked percectly. Will probably be ok on the CWM as well
2. You can download CWM from here and TWRP from here (I rcommend the TMobile vs of TWRP, I installed and it worked very well!)
3. Wipe or no wipe? Is entirely up to YOU! As all of you are currently on stock or custom stock versions, I really don't see a reason for no wipe not working. It was tested either way.
4. Do remember that if you didn't wipe you might face issues that we cannot address on this thread. As rom installation without wipe is your responsibility
5. If you do wipe - wipe data alone. Everything else will be taken care during the installation process
6. Install zip from sdcard (which ever you choose, internal or external)
7. Reboot and done

A bit of history (because a girl has to vent abit, right?):
Well, around August this year, @Wuby986 and I started entertaining the idea of our own rom development. So one day I was like "I think I will try to compile a kernel from source". To which Wuby said "You're impossible!" (well I am). Well, after 2 weeks of struggling, crying bloody murder "Wuby, save me!!! It's not compiling! Something is wrong with the sources... I can't do this anymore!!!..." , Wuby calmly replying "Yes you can, we will figure it out together... show me the errors..." , and after pulling my hair out, 2Stroke for s5 was born. We never released a rom for s5 (yet... deep sigh), so the s5 kernel baby is still burning fuel only on our devices
Soooo... when n910f came out we figured - why not a kernel as well, and after the sources were released, I figured: let's go, I mean how hard can it be, right? Well, I am no kernel developer. So I spent another two days struggling with sources, toolchains and other animals, and then another week struggling with github (sigh.....).
Well, now it's over, so the kernel is here, sources uploaded and it's time to let the baby go.
Features:
This is a stock based kernel.
Compiled from the latest (and only) samsung sources for trltexx
Compiled on the optimised amazing SaberMod 4.10 tool chain - smooth as butter, really!
Added cpu scaling frequencies: OndemandPlus, YankActive, SmartMax, SmartassV2
Added i/o schedulers: zen, fifo, sio, vr
Full selinux permissive support (sources, thanks to Changlu) and ramdisk
init.d support
Thats it, ladies and gentlemen! We are not kernel developers and we don't wanna pretend to be by screwing with your devices.
The main goal was to have our own kernel, cpmpiled on a good (best, really) toolchain, add some governors and i/o for you to play around with.
This kernel will never have OC (no cpu oc, no slimbus OC, no GPU OC). We don't get why the new devices should have OC. And we're confident other custom kernels will have it for you to use.
We're not confident enough to play around with intelliplug and intellithermal. IMO, mpdecision on snappy is doing a great job.
In the future more governers and schedulers might be added. (I am currently working on adding fiops (which I love), but it's giving me hell with compilation errors)

Why something has to be different? Different developers, different projects... more choices for the user. Anyone will install what they prefer and use it we made a rom we like, we shared it. That's really all there is to it

Actually running pretty smooth here. No lags so far. I am pretty happy with the device.
Our moto was to build a rom close to stock with good performance and essential mods (what we think is essential). So this is v1. We have much more planned to come.
We are originally working on s5. Then note 4 came along. So we figured... why not make some nice mods and share it as simple clean release? Not over modded, not over tweaked, not packed and repacked. .. just clean and with useful features.
We decided to release this v1.0 because really there aren't many roms around. So people that want stock expirience with some mods can enjoy their device.
I can't live without 4 way reboot and I prefer to not use xposed if I don't have to. Same goes for more quick settings... nicer keyboard... more csc features... some unlocked settings. For me those things improve the expirience of using the phone. And really... I have no lags that can be registered as lags. Maybe very minor...
The download is incredibly slow, it was going to take 3-4 hours and I have superb web connection.

I know my friend. It was super fast this morning and then went down like crazy. @Wuby986 is making a mega mirror. Hoping that would help you out. We really don't keep count on the downloads. So anything faster for you guys will work for us. The mirror should be up soon.
