The default android keyboard is the fastest.
No 3rd party keyboard can come close in terms of speed.
But do you guys notice that there are 2 empty space on the keyboard?
At the bottom left, and bottom right.
Left of the 'smiley' key, and right of the '-' key.
It would be great if the blank space can be changed to a left cursor and right cursor.
Any idea how to do this?
the setup of the default honeycomb keyboard is in the systemui.apk but i dont know how to do coding like that so thats all i can help you with

Is it possible to change the original htc hd2 keybored to a new keybored like android without flashing a new rom?? I rly like the android keybored... Plz do not post the swype OR TOCUHPAL keyboARdS.. Thanks!!!
Yes. It is possible to change the keyboard without flashing. Find one you like and download it.
For example: THIS keyboard or THIS one or THIS one... well you get the idea.
There really isnt a single WinMo keyboard out there that has the same layout as Android or iPhones keyboards.
Quite a shame since if you could just remove the useless arrow keys and space the keys a little more with the space saved by getting rid of the useless arrow keys then the keyboard could be perfect =/

RESCO Keyboard Pro (I had it allready from earlier PDA) Has no arrows (on the default screen)
One can swype left/right for the different screens.
Immediate access to calculator, and the arrows, copy, paste, delete and backspace are just one flick away....
Well worth the monye IMO.
Also rotates to landscape....

Yeah I tried RESCO but the landscape version of it is not really qwerty style at all
Like on any keyboard the letters should funnel diagonal like this:
------------>QWERTYUIOP
-------------->ASDFGHJK
---------------->XCVBN
RESCO doesn't seem to do this its more like:
QWERTYUIO
ASDFGHJKL;'
ZXCVBNM,./
Every letter is exactly underneath each other instead of diagonal which throws off typing since no one has ever typed on a keyboard that style.
I need a keyboard in landscape to look exactly like this:
Speaking of which does anyone know which keyboard this is??? It looks absolutely perfect!
The indented layout has been designed for 10 finger typing
I do not believe you can do it on the HD2....
The swype keyboard is probably more to your liking.....
BTW: Where did you find that screendump?
Perhaps you could ask that user....

Argh!
Found out its an old skin of the RESCO keyboard called iSkin... but its back from 2008 and I cant find anything that it would re-size correctly for the Hd2
I'll try swype again though due to the indented keys based off your suggestion and figure out what it was that I didn't like the first time or if it has been fixed (can't remember since its 4am at the moment =P)
Edit: I hate swyping since its bad for inputting url's... but I tried it anyways just as a way to type regularly since i like the layout of the keyboard BUT no sound clicks when I press keys + no key press popup showing me I pressed the right one while I am typing = No good
Need a real iPhone style keyboard with indented keys in landscape.
Android can do it, why cant WM?
Here we have stock home screen from SE.
I was completely satisfied with it, except for three things which I will describe below. And if you help me understand how to fix them, then I think it would be ideal for the home screen of this phone model. Moreover I would be very grateful
And so:
1. Long press on the widgets and on the list of programs. This causes the editing widget or program list. Terribly inconvenient function. The editing widget or program list also caused by a hard button "Menu" and this is sufficient.
[Q] How to disable Long press on the widgets and on the list of programs?
2. All applications in the list of the programs have a label under the icon.
[Q] How to disable icons label show?
3. In "X10 mini pro" when open qwerty keyboard - a home screen adopts a horizontal position. But there is no qwerty keyboard in "X10 mini" that would change the orientation of the home screen. At the same time we have an accelerometer and a function that reads it values. And so we have a function to change the orientation of the home screen that is invoked when you open the qwerty keyboard. Consequently, in the function that modifies the orientation of the home screen, we must substitute instead of checking on opening the keyboard - to check screen position.
[Q] In which folder, which file, which line of the file and what will I have to change that would make changing the orientation of the home screen when the phone is in horizontal position?
"In which folder, which file, which line of the file and what will I have to change" this is as in addition to questions 1 and 2.
P.S. Alternative home screen does not offer

Because I like its simplicity. And the triangle button on the corners. I like its minimalism, with the exception of those three things.
I really want to implement it. Could you explain to me or to help with this?
The other launchers are great....but i liked SE stocked Home....the four corner UI is simple yet attractive....

pleased that I have a like-minded
well i don't have semchome in my rom and still i have 4 corners in stock launcher so what seems to be deal?
this two in build.prop defines ui that will be used..
ro.semc.timescape_keys=X10_mini_key
ro.semc.timescape_model=1_handed
so with stock google launcher you have less memory used + your favorite ui

And what do these lines?
I do not quite understand you. Is it possible for more info?
Guys, at least tell me if it is real or not?
If so what difficulties?
Swype used to have a delete key on the "sub menu" (Swype left to right on bottom 2 keys), but it's not there anymore.
All I really want is a keyboard with a custom dictionary and a forward delete key. number row would be nice, but I can live without it.
Suggestions?
Hi All,
I am looking for a application like "SwipeSelect" for IOS
This Tool adds a guesture over the keyboard "not swipe typing like swift keyboard"
It allowed you would set the cursor to any position on your typing.
That's much easier to fix typos, no more put your finger to the typo to fix it, just swipe to the left to set the possition.
Do anyone know a tool like this for android ?
I knows there is one ugly keyboard that supports this, but I hate this "Tyype" keyboard
SwipeSelection: http://youtu.be/6h2yrBK7MAY
I want to type in the small screen to write in the big screen, but I want to use another keyboard (like Hackers Keyboard) instead of LG keyboard. Because I want arrow keys, CTRL key... Is it possible?
I think this phone would hace more productivity if that was possible.
Similarly. I use SwiftKey for most of my texting and everything in portrait mode. When I Wing the phone out I generally switch to the LG keyboard prior to opening the second screen. It's not as good for word prediction and everything but it allows you to move it between the upper and lower screens. I don't know of any other keyboard yet that has that feature besides the stock LG keyboard. Pretty easy to do. There's a little keyboard icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Click on that that will allow you to switch between keyboards.

I would like LG to add more symbols in its keyboard, mainly: arrow (cursor) keys, CTRL, ALT. These keys are perfect to edit text. I would like to communicate this matter to you so that you can make the keyboard more complete. It would be easy for them.

A quick way to move your cursor is you long hold on the spacebar and then you can slide your finger left and right to move the cursor. It actually works pretty well. And I hate to admit it, but I think they stole that idea from Apple.
I didn't know that feature! Thanks! It's good but it' s not enough. I need more like a PC keyboard with arrow keys, CTRL and ALT keys for my purposes.
Any changes with the Android 11 update?
Goof app to have on the phone
