sense 4.0 on atrix? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i know most people here hate android skins but sense 4.0 looks to be quite good. any chance someone will be able to port it over to the atrix? there's already an alpha version up for the sensation...

Completely different phone. If it was possible, it would have been done by now.

Nexus 2.1 on HTC Hero?

Would the stock 2.1 work on HTC Hero? Liike 3d app tray and 5 homescreens, if so does anyone have a ROM or would be kind enough to make one?
nexus has another processor, so it won't work at all...
Yeah that aint gonna work. Have a look in the dev section I think some people were working on Nexus themed ROMs.

Sense HD?

Hi
I am only getting this phone because it is the best specification phone I haven't tried the touch Whizzo but HTC make the best software but not phones unfortunately
So I am asking will any1 be able to port sense HD?

Well I've made a Sense theme for CM7, so as soon as the Galaxy S2 gets CM7, which I'm sure will happen fast, you can use the theme on it... far easier than porting a sense rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11660869
edit: then again, you still won't have sense app enhancements and stuff, but something is better than nothing right?
why does everyone want this.. the phne is not even out yet.. if you really want sense go buy a htc phone ad quit whinning.
thanks for the theme,
and yeah i do have a htc phone but this samsung galaxy s 2 has the best specs than any htc phone so this phone combined with htc sense will be a beast!
Does any one think this can happen?

Sense is overrated.
Yes you should be able to use HTCs Sence UI because Exynos is using NEON whereas Tegra2 doesnt.
Depends which 1 phones 4 u supplies because there are to versions

Yeah but the widget are amazing

Meh, I was never too fond of Sense. Using my friend's Inspire for a few minutes though, I found that it was nicer than all of the other stock launchers.
I didn't like not being able to edit the total number of screens though.
I too, am interested in this. It gives people options so why not port Sense over? I want to see whether they can port all those cool features over like flipping their phone over to silence a call or ringing louder in a bag.
What about sense 3.0 the sgs2 with the new sense will be amazing

No please not the disney version of sense.
Don't get me wrong, but those colors on the sensation....brrrr..... welcome to disney.
I would really love to see a Sense port but it will be very hard to port it... the only successful ports are for devices with identical specs - example Sense from Desire on Nexus One...
There was a port for the Galaxy S but it had too much things that don't work and were very hard to solve (as Sense and drivers are not open source)...
Loved sense on windows mobile especially combined with the white GTX theme on my hd2,
but can't say I'm a big fan of it on android. Weird, I know, or maybe not so weird,
since I like a minimal clean look better, not screens cluttered with widgets.
Am tied in between in getting a sensation or sgs2 hardware wise galaxy s 2 wins but HTC sense is far better than touch wiz that's why we need a port

I'd like to see a sense port. However only for the sake of having a bigger variety of roms to flash.
I found that when I had my Inspire that Sense was way to bloated for me. I gave it a fair shot but for now I prefer TW over Sense. But AOSP > Any carrier software.
I would just stick with TouchWiz or go for AOSP if possible. Sense looks cool and all, but a port is as easy as it seems. More so, theming will be the solution for time being.

Actually this is false http://www.xda-developers.com/android/nexus-s-gets-a-desire-s-port-and-sense/

[Q] Is there anyway to get HTC Sense 3.0 on a Samsung Droid Charge

If there is a way can someone please send me the download link!
wrong forum dude lol. go to the droid charge development section and look for a 3.0 rom you can install
Sense on a Charge? whaaa?
In theory its possible, but that kinda falls under the "Anything is possible" category. So I wouldnt get my hopes up. It would require some serious porting that may in fact not be possible without the full source to sense which HTC isn't going to give out.

just print a picture of a sense 3.0 screen and stick it over your droid charge screen.

Post of the day/week cracked me up.
courtesy of my rooted bolt
I may be wrong, but I don't think any phone from another manufacture ever got a port of sense that was even close to working.
HTC just opened HTCdev. Maybe something in there will enable devs to port some aspects of sense (but I wouldn't bet on it).

Not true. When I had a Nexus One I had a very stable and smooth sense rom that I used for a few months. It's possible. May be hard but possible

I have a friend with a MyTouch 4G and he has sense elements but not a full port of Sense.
If you want sense, buy a Thunderbolt or another HTC phone. Problem solved!
BRILLIANT!!!!!!

fyi nexus one and my touch 4g are both HTC devices... show me a galaxy or a motorola device with sense and we can talk further... much of sense is kernel based just like you cant run AOSP roms with a sense kernel or vice versa...

sense 4 rom?

Is anyone thinking about making a Sense 4 ROM for the fascinate??? Would be much appreciated.
Unlikely at best considering the framework isn't compatible with our phone. You could try to theme your phone to get it to look like Sense but that's probably the best you'll do.
If you want Sense you should get an HTC phone.
other guy is trying to be nice about it but the answer is no way, sense is completely dependent on the hardware of the phones it runs on. it might be possible to port sense 2 to our phone but I don't think you could pay a dev enough to do the amount of work required.

If he offered $100K and benefits I'm sure someone would do it. =)
Well, they'd do it until HTC caught wind of it and fired off a C&D.

Some people like the experience.
Personally I find the new versions of sense to be super bloated. TOuchwiz and Sense have essentially swapped roles.
IMO:
Sense < Touchwiz < AOKP (or other AOSP variant)
Its not that I like sense that much.... I used to have a droid incredible 2 and I hated it before I rooted it and put cm7 on it. I was one of the people who got to trade in their fassy for the incredible 2. i ended up giving the incredible to my girlfriend and I bought another fassy on ebay lol. But anyways, the new version of sense looks like its come a long way and I was just wondering if anyone was thinking of having it on a fascinate.

will we ever get htc sense 4 notifocation on...

On our EVO 3d? I mean like it looks awesome. It would be cool.
You could try out the sense 4 rom
Just try ICS cusrom with sense 4.0 or wait for the official. Even the inferior One V could run it, Evo 3D must be capable of it, too.

It's not about the specs [ie, ram, processor etc]. HTC have stated that all the HTC phones barring the One series don't have certain hardware components that is needed for Sense 4.0. Like the new Camera.
EDIT: I actually might be wrong check my post under the next 2

Yes but it doesnt have ZSL and all those other sense 4.0 goodies.
This isnt a debate. You will not be getting Sense 4.0 Officially. So either go flash up a unoficial Rom or just stop posting.
Hey guys, the decision to not update Sense 3.x phones to Sense 4.0 isn't related to technology; it's a business decision. HTC has to weigh the costs and benefits

it is hardware related too.....something called ImageSense is related to hardware components that are new to the entire one series...including the 'weakling' one V.
We will see sense 4.0 custom ROM with all the bells and whistles we want, once we get all the sources for ICS released. Its just a matter of time and these android updates are dragging it all the way.
