Try choosing a different Tom, sometimes that helps. You can also wipe battery stats in recovery. Last option, warranty replacement if your phone is still covered.

Why isn't it? I've had that problem on a couple phones, this one, my Motorola and my Sony Ericsson. I called AT&T and they gave me a warranty replacement.

Wiping battery stats achieves absolutely nothing. Google have stated this more than a few times.
What you're describing might be a battery issue, it might be an issue with the USB/charging circuitry of the phone, or it could be none of the above (most likely).
If you're not running a stock rom (compeltely stock, not even a CFRoot kernel), find stock firmware & go back to/flash it. Head over to Sammobile.com to find/download stock firmware for your phone.
If you can reproduce the issue of 'when i reboot my phone it drain to 15 or below' it might be a hardware issue, but as JJE said a few days ago, you wouldn't get a replacement. You might get it repaired if it's definitely the hardware issue I described above.
But you've got a bunch of things you can do/try before you go down that path.
now days i noticed something
the first is when phone is fully charge if I plug it off immediately it will get down to 96 or 97
and it will not if i leave it for one hour or less than that
the second the battry drian to 15 or below it not always occur and it occur only when battery level below 50

Problem??? Because it drops to 99% after you unplug the charger??? That's way within the tolerances of the charge circuit. The real question is what kind of battery life are you getting?
FWIW, My stock T-Mobile SGS-III (i.e. dual core Snapdragon S4) often displays 99% when I unplug the charger. However, it's inconsequential as I get a full day of service from this battery

Well thank you man i thought i was the only one having this problem but fortunatly my phones can last a full and sometimes more than a day.Have a nice day.
Mine still stays on 100% approx an hour later. I.use to have that problem, u need to use different kernel like phenomenal 2.0 or siyah 1.5 beta3

Weird
Hmm that's weird, cause mine doesn't jump to 99% when i unplug charger (on stock firmware)
What firmware are you using now ?
If I were to unplug my phone and not touch it or wake it up it would be on 100% for 1.5 hours.
samsung made it like this to prevent overcharging well it was on S2
Happens to me as well, i've assumed it's just the battery fuel gage calibration being a bit off, and that's likely what it really is. This doesn't really matter, the fuel gage isn't very precise anyway, by design, so who cares.
This is not a problem.
The battery meter is reset everytime your phone charges to 100%.
Unplugged and checked an hour later and still at 100%...stock non rooted.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Its supposed to do that to prevent overcharging or so I've heard but if you leave it plugged in for quite a while, it should stick at 100%.
Mine used to display 99%, but since a recent OTA update, it now stays on 100% once unplugged. Samsung must have altered it. Im on Stock Rom.

I've noticed this as well. It usually happens when I leave it plugged in overnight but if I remove it when it reaches 100%, I'm usually ok.
Galaxy S3 on TMO
Hello XDA I think this is my first question here so please try not to bully me to much in case I'm asking something that was answered before , although I did search for my problem and I didn't find it here.
So it started like 1 week ago , nothing actually changed to my phone since I started having this problem.
First please take a look at the 2 images i attached to see the odd behavior.
So it first begins when I see a STOP sign at the 3g connectivity icon, indicating me that there is not sim inserted(this is not true i always have my sim inserted) and the first thing i do is try to restart the phone, when it opens again the battery level is 1% and if I leave it like this for a few minutes it closes just like my battery would actually be empty, after I remove the battery and open it again it shows me something like 13% and rapidly discharging, after that drains also I remove the battery again and wait like 5 minutes and then try to open it again,it has more than 45% battery left, also if I try to use it as I would normally do if i really had that much battery left, the 3g connectivity icon turns to "No sim stop sign" and it just does that randomly even if I am not using the data plan at all.
I must mention that I did not charge the phone between the images!
I want to know, could this be from software or is it something physic damaged in my phone ?
I am using ICS 4.0.4 updated with Kies and my phone is not rooted.
Sometime i got the same issue, but I use custom rom and kernel.
Recommend you not to update via Kies, it may cause many problems. You may need boot into stock recovery ( Turn off, then hold Volume Up+Home+ Power, while boot logo appears, unhold Power button). In recovery, clear cache. If it does not resolve, try to download firmware from Sammobile, and flash using Odin, i think that 's better.
In my case, it may happen after flashing other kernel. Just remove battery from phone for 30 min or more, and then place it.
Its a known issue for all galaxy s2 handsets (probably with more, I'm not sure). Its a problem of the fuel gauge in our device which unfortunately cannot be fixed. Wiping battery stats won't help, as acknowledged by Google devs. However, I believe that an option in Siyah kernel is there to reset the fuel gauge, which may work (I haven't tested it personally).

Hi all, i want to know methods how different people saved this issue on amaze, i have but i cant fix it i tried different methods, but all that help only for some time. I opened this thread for other people(i think many people experience this problem) for finding the fix. Thanks for reading and answering.
There is no way to answer such a general question like this with such limited detail. There are so many things that can cause random reboots: bad battery, problem with an app, rom, kernel, etc. How r we suppose to be able to know what is causing your reboots, you didn't even say what your phone's current setup is: unlocked/locked, custom rom/stock, cust kernel/stock, etc.
A lot of amaze owners have had problems with battery going bad and random reboots being one of the issues. So that may be one thing to try. Good luck

Problem solved
Nobody with any knowledge is having random reboots. Its usually the people who flashed a ROM incorrectly, is using an unstable ROM build, over/under clocked their CPU too much or under volted their CPU too much. I never once had a random reboot that i didnt provoke (which means it wasn't random) unless I was using an unstable ROM.

Now i went back to stock, but i am experiencing the same problem but less 2-3 times a day.i have enough knowledge about flashing modding, i had 6 android phones before this one, but this problem i cant fix in no way. i am using now stock ics, the CPU isnt over or underclocked and i didnt flashed any mods. pure official rom with some 5-6 apps, i am trying to understand maybe it is from apps.
Battery caused my randoms. Anker took care of it. Or you can opt for OEM but most likely happen again.

I'll try, thanks for answer yall. But after returning to stock i am only having reboots at nearly 20%, and it is like phone trying to confidure, to calibrate its battery, it is rebooting 2 times, it shows 5% and there are no more reboots. I tried to calibrate no help. Ill try to bye anker battery, not to change and i cant buy in armenia, there is no htc shop or centre, but what if i put sensation battery? Because, the choice for sensation is bigger.

OK, I THINK I MIGHT HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION!!!!!!!
I bought an Anker battery. After a while, it will start doing the random reboot things. The cool thing is, the Anker batteries come with an external charger. If I take the battery out of the phone and use the charger, it seems to "reset" the battery so it works fine for a while.
I'm startting to think there is an issue with the charging system on the phone - who knows.
thank!!!

One Quick Solution
Okay so this is just one quick solution for those specific people out there that have had random reboots on EVERY ROM they try. A good friend of mine had constant reboots even on modified stock ROMs like Revolution HD which I have never had rebooting issues. We noticed the battery was easily removed when taking off the backing so we inserted a paper index card on the bottom to decrease the gap and make the fit slightly tighter. We just cut an index card to about the size of an inch in length and the same width as the battery compartment and then folded it in an L shape inserted it in the bottom of the battery slot and his phone has seen nearly 0 reboots since doing this. Seems like a dumb issue but it is worth a try especially if your Amaze has taken some physical abuse.
Still having problems. No idea what to try anymore. Might have to bite the bullet and get another phone. Never again HTC.

Wife had the same problems...
a little background of her Amaze issues:
- tmobile stock ICS ROM, not rooted, about 16 months old.
- after about a year random reboots begin and get more frequent, sometimes 6-7 times daily
- replaced with new Anker battery. problems go away for about 2 weeks
- after about a month, phone no longer charges (no orange light) using the original ac adapter and usb cable
- gave in and called HTC (from htc.com:United States/English/+1-866-449-8358/08:00 - 01:00 ET (7 days a week))
- got a RMA number and paid for shipping (~ $6 with Insurance at USPS) to Texas
- HTC returned her Amaze (same IMEI number), fixed under warranty. Not exactly sure what they replaced/fixed as they did not provide details.
If you're in a last resort type of situation, give them a call...you never know! Since being fixed, it's been rooted and NRG ICS Blue ROM and 4EXT recovery flashed, just like mine. All is great...for now... If Amaze dies again, not sure what phone to get next.
Hello,
4-5 days ago my SGS3 (Stock I9300XXEMA2 + CF-Autoroot) started to reboot when charging, or I must say, when charging and reached full charge (I usually charge overnight and the sound of reboot wakes me). Also I noticed sometimes the phone switch off by itself during the day...
Maybe symptoms of a poorly healed disease (SDS)?
Any experience like that on any of you?
Thanks in advance

To share your battery issues in this thread
I have very strange bug.... I am using honor 5x. When I switch on battery percentage, after charging my phone to 100% my battery start getting discharge. It's like it comes to 96% within few minutes of using. But the 100% charge does not hold even for more than 1 minute. The battery comes to 99% as soon as charger is detached. I am on 5.1.1 official Indian dual sim version.... Can anybody confirm same , are you getting same thing ?? I mean battery drain !
Well the phone was in one month exchange warranty from the website which was selling honor 5x phone apart from official warranty. When I called them they told me to download a alien app named smartcheck from a link provided on email. I called them them and they provided me a 16 digit Windows like code to open the app. There were lot of options in the app itself. The representative told me to select battery option he told me to plug in the charger and then let the app detect charging. Then the app told me to detach the charger after 15 seconds. Then the app uploaded something on internet and alas the customer care representative told me my phone battery is alright and it means they can't change it.
I was like amazed to see how can a app in lollipop can get battery stats when phone is not rooted ?? He was like I don't know sir , we can't change your phone... So am I the only one getting this strange battery drain or all people have same ??
Pretty much normal for any battery I would say.
