[Q] Android version - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Just want to add my knowledge in android system.
After i'm on .62 build name in my phone and downgrade it to .42 build name because of failed flashing BB 62 and i'm worrying about the 0% battery issue.
is downgrading from .62 to .42 can change the android version like this .62 BN 2.3.4 to .42 BN 2.3.2, or their is a separate update for Build Name and Android Version.
Note: All version indicates here is Stock rom and kernel
sorry for my bad english

.42 and .62 are on 2.3.4 version. Is it what you mean?

Future Update with Baseband

Hi firends,
Im now currently using CM 6.1.3 gingerbread V01 by rendeiro2005.
and i have upgraded my BB to .58.
And if official GB 2.3 is released and i want to update to that using SEUS,do i need to revert back to the stock baseband i had or will it work with the present baseband?
Guys please revert to my query!
Why not just wait for it to be released first before asking
no.
baseband had nothing to do with it.
but you won`t be notify (on any custom rom)

[Q] X10MINI 2.1.1.A.0.16 Firmware Version

To all the developers and members of XDA,
I bought an X10mini and found out that the firmware version is 2.1.1.A.0.16 , can i flash it to MiniCM6 2.2 ROM ? the baseband is M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 but the firmware is not 2.1.1.A.0.6..
I tried to to reinstall the ROM using PC companion and the version that i get is still 0.16 and not 0.6 .
I wonder if anyone here have the version same as mine and can i flash it to custom ROM ? i search throughout the treads and did not found any 2.1.1.A.0.16 available, is this the latest version or because the version is differ because of countries?
Any helps will be well-appreciated, thanks !
This is because you have the 2011 X10 Mini. Everything should work normally.
You have a previous FW, if you want to flash without fear, flash to the new FW and them flash it to MiniCM6 2.2 ROM.
You can use WotanClient, sign in the site of the program, it is free, and very easy flash with this program, and you can downgrade or upgrade your phone.
ok, Thank you for the information !
the important things are baseband and kernel, because when you upgrade to 2.2 or 2.3 the stock firmware will be replaced.
but before flashing with any rom kindly make a backup

Baseband Help

Reset my x10 to default 2.1 eclair. downgraded from baseband .54 to .52 to install kustom 3.51 kernel but i have no radio ! please help !!
Find a stock Eclair ROM that comes with BB .52 (I believe FW # 2.0.2.A.0.24 is the one) and reflash it with the Flashtool.
Run repair software via SEUS or PC Companion.

Rooting/Unlocking my new Play

Hi,
New to the Xperia Play but am confident in rooting through other devices, X10, Galaxy S2, Armani S etc.
Now in the guides it asks to flash the .181 before upgrading to .184 if not an unlocked bootloader or flashing .184 direct if it is unlocked.
I am currently using .145 which isnt listed in the guide.
Can anyone confirm if there's a difference or if I'm on a ROM which can't have the bootloader unlocked??
Thanks.
Edit: I can connect via fastboot and get a version 0.3 returned after doing the getjar version command. So really, is the .184 the best update to go to as opposed to a .145?
Follow this guide here. Just flash the .184 then root and then ota update to 2.3.3. You will be rooted on 2.3.3 build .145.
builds;
R800i:
3.0.A.2.181 // 7X30A-AAABQMAZM-1290_14-10 (forgot android version)
3.0.A.2.184 // 7X30A-AAABQMAZM-1290_14-14 (2.3.2)
3.0.1.A.0.145 // 7X30A-AAABQMAZM-1290_21-22 (2.3.3)
.145 is not listed because gingerbreak doesnt work on 2.3.3 and is the latest version you are upgrading to. It only works on builds .181 or .184 so you need to flash the previous version (.184 (2.3.2) in the guide above, you dont need to flash .181 and .184 just the previous version or 2.3.3 which is .184) for root access to succeed then use ota to keep root.
If you bought an r800i then the bootloader is unlockable. Go here if you want to unlock http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions but if all you want is root then unlocking the bootloader is not needed atm (just follow the guide in the link above) you can unlock later if you want to install cm7 when the bugs are worked out or any other custom rom.
So really, is the .184 the best update to go to as opposed to a .145?
Click to collapse
.184 is 2.3.2, .145 is 2.3.3 the latest version out atm you only need to go to .184 so rooting with gingerbreak will work then you use ota to upgrade to .145 with root still enabled
