Kernal version? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I was planning on rooting my Note from ATT and have been reading around on rooting software and read that I need a specific kernal, as in:
2.6.35.7-N7000XXKJ4-CL641703
Kernel KJ1
Kernel KJ4
Kernel KJ6
Kernel KK1
Kernel KKA
Kernel KK9
My phone only gives me kernal version 2.6.35.11 and nothing else. Can i change this to find the "actual" version?

Not sure where you are getting your info, but the only two root methods for AT&T Note are in the AT&T Note development forums and they don't require anything but an AT&T Note.

DVLB1 looks like it is the modem/baseband version. That doesn't matter for rooting.
What is your build number, and your kernel version?
EDIT: sorry, I was wrong. DVLB1 is a branded Telstra firmware. My bad.
See this post - it may help you.
EDIT 2: Alternatively, you can just flash the Gingerbread versions of either SpeedMod or Siyah kernel, and you will have root. Both these kernels auto-root your phone for you.

Another gs3 noob question

Can you use a custom rom for the l-l9300 on the Korean version of the phone just swapping out the kernel and maybe the build.prop

[Q] cf root for galaxy s 2

hey everyone i am noob, i am using galaxy s2 and my base band version is xxkf1, so which file am i suppose to use to root my galaxy s2 because there is a list of cf root with different files, please help me with this.... thank you in advance
Choose the kernel with the KF1 filename. You can look at the link in my signature, explains how to root with CF-Root.

You want to choose a kernel based on your current kernel, not baseband. Baseband version could be different than the kernel version.
EDIT to add: you also double-posted. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893548) I reported the other post to be closed/deleted by a mod.
I don't even pay attention to what people type anymore. Don't use your baseband version, its your kernel version. You would think someone wanting to root would do a wee bit of background reading first.

You'd think so, right?
Also, OP - the list of CF-root kernels? I'm guessing you're referring to this? Funny, because there are instructions right under the heading "Help! Which file do I use ?"

[Q] Flashing Hydracore Kernel

Ok, Here we go....I am very new at this and never did a kernel flash so excuse my ignorance...have flashed roms...soraum...and now using blackstar vII rom and love it...but i heard alot about this hydracore kernel and wanted to know if i could flash it on the blackstar verison 7 rom...i already have this rom installed....
So question...i want to know how to flash this hyracore kernel 5.4 on my galaxy note sgh-i717 at&t...
FYI..I download hydracore kernel 5.4 OC zip the other day and tried to install through cmw and it literally bricked my galaxy note...I mean their was nothing...no power....nothing....wouldnt turn on anything.....luckly i was under warrenty and got a replacement so i am up and running...on a new galaxy note 2 sgh-i717 att with blackrain version 7 rom and everything is good....
SO how to install kernel and what did i do wrong that literally shut down my note or bricked it......
you are flashing the wrong kernel not made for I717

From what I can tell that kernel is for the n7000 not the i717, which explains why you bricked your device. Kernels are device specific. We do not currently have anything like that for the i717 yet.

Hydracore is for the n7000 note. That's the international version. You're running the i717 version. None of the ROMs or kernels from the n7000 will work on the i717 and vice versa.

For what it's worth, the sprint version of chainfires autoroot works for this phone with no issues

Alright so after installing chainfires autoroot and RAM's twrp, I can do the things I can normally do with the Nexus, only question remaining is where are the Roms? On Samsung devices, do you always flash with Odin? Only reason I ask is because I don't see any flashable Roms or kernels
