you probably need to flash the wifi modules for whatever kernal you are using. Simply save them to your phone and flash with xRec or CW

wifi error
I think i flashed that
could you help me to find the file?
Thank you very much

Hi there,
I've got the same problem but with another ROM.
I have Wolfs TW Gingerbread and X10_2.3.3_DooMKernel-v06-FS-BootManager-v2.0.ftf with x10_gb_DooMKernel-v06-FS_wifi modules but there's still a wifi error...
The wifi module has to be flashed in xrecovery over the install custom zip option, right?
Edit1: Urgh, i see, i flashed wrong kernel version...had v05a instead of v06... :S
Edit2: So, now i flashed the things i wrote above, and i have still the error...i'm going mad xd
Edit3: Call me dumb or whatever, i finally figured out i had to reinstall the ROM after installing Kernel when the ROM was already booted once ;D

Dudes, fear not you're not going mad re: DoomKernel v6 WiFi modules.
I'm NOT clear on the specifics(long time ago) but at least I can direct a different line of questions.
The WiFi and or any *.ko in /system/lib/modules/*.ko is wiped on boot by /etc/init.d/00modules.
00modules is a text file and can be viewed (I wouldn't edit it)
You'll see the script clears all *.ko and then replaces them with those found in /system/kernel/${KVER}/*.ko
It uses busybox to do this.
I guess the logic behind it is, that different kernels when booted will use different *.ko.
So.... what I did was extract the wifi.ko and other *.ko files out of the .zip and then place them in /system/kernel/${KVER}/ where ${KVER} is you kernel version
If there is already *.ko file in system/kernel/${KVER}/*.ko I'd back them up before I overwrote them with new ones.
The new *.ko in /system/kernel/${KVER}/*.ko need the following permission rw-r--r--
This worked for me (almost years ago) when I was having problems.
NOW, I'm not saying this is the answer, but this may be an area to explore if WiFi reverts to an "failing" version each time you boot no matter if you install the new modules in /system/lib/modules or not.
Hope this helps...

[Q] I can't install this ROM!!!!

I have the same problem, but it started when I installed SROM v8. Then every ROM except original from SEUS couldn't boot. I did WIPE, cleared CACHE and DALVIK CACHE on stock ROM and then installed modified ROM. It is working now
That ROM has in his archive system\lib\modules\ x8oc.ko and x8uv.ko
Delete those files from the archive and it will work!
If it worked, touch the thanks button!!!

[Q] Leap Wifi not working - authentication error (JB 4.1.2 XLS8)

Hi guys,
each and every update I am running in the same problem, getting the WIFI to stop working with my companies Cisco LEAP.
Today I updated to Stock XLS8 JB 4.1.2 and WIFI is returning an authentication error.
I recreated the LEAP profile using the Leap Wifi Free app.
Last time I needed to patch the wpa_supplicant binary to get it working.
I also found some threads and also android bugs pointing to it (but this states it should work in 4.1.2 but not on 4.2: android issue #40023).
Do you have the same problems? Do you have a solution?
thanks
Christian
PS: Sorry if this topic is not new, search is currently not working.
Can't believe I am the only one
I have it too.
I was on jellybean LSJ & it was working as it should. as soon as I updated to LS8 it stopped working.
I too get Authentication Error. Could connect when on 4.03, but not since update to JB.

I also tried 2 custom roms based on LS8. Alliance v6 & Biftor v5. they both have the same problem. plus, I tried to change the modem but still the same.
I'm pretty sure it's related to the base itself not roms nor modems or even phones.
never had this problem before.

Doesn't depend on kernels. I tried all of them.
only on this wifi folder. make sure the files REALLY replaced LS8 files. turn offf/on. wifi should work. unless you have a problem somewhere else which is the router. try resetting the router
I'M USING OMEGA 19.2 TOO
I asked that because my wifi button was frozen after replacing those files and i couldn't enable the wifi back, even restoring a directory backup, so i had to reinstall the rom, now, i upgraded to a clean install omega 20 with siyah 6b4 and the wifi problem persist. :/

[Q][Help] Wifi won´t work after update from Android [4.2.1] to [4.2.2]

Hi Guys,
I´m new to the Android World and to xda-forum.
This is my first [Q][Help] Thread. I´ve used the search function and the goolge search, but i didn´t get any answers.
Device:
Samsung Galaxy GT-I9300 International
ROM: Omega v44.4 - XXUFMB3
Kernel: Stock Rom Kernel
Bootloader: I9300XXEMC2
*#1234# Output:
AP: I9300XXUFMB3
CP: I9300XXEMB6
CSC: I9300OXAEMC2
So my problem as follows:
I flash one of the 4.2.2 Roms and only my WiFi makes problems.
-Sometimes it gets a "Obtaining Ip Address" loop.
-If my device connects to my home router (Belkin N+) there is WiFi shown on the device, but no data goes through it.
Every 4.2.2 Rom i tried [for example Slim Bean based 4.2.2, Omega v6 & v7 based 4.2.2, AOKP Milestone based 4.2.2, CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies based 4.2.2] i have this problem and it makes me sick.
Flash process is every time the same:
Done with TWRP v2.5
-Full Backup
-Full Wipe
-Install Rom from external sd (.zip file)
-(Install Gapps if needed, ROM specific)
-Reboot
If you need more information about device or something, please ask.
I hope there is somebody, who can help me.
Thanks in advance.

The only thing it will change is the WiFi folder which is changed each time you flash a ROM so you have to do this each time you flash a rom aokp/cm10.1/aosp but when you flash a sami based rom you dont have to change the wifi folder as they seam to work ok

If you already have a ROM working use a root file manger and copy the wifi folder from /system/etc but I have had no need to do this on 4.3 based roms

Hey, it's on the stock Samsung ROM (Android 4.1.2) that is working properly the wifi, and only that one. With no custom rom - tried several CyanogenMod(stable), SuperNexus, even bloatware-free samsung 4.3 - none had worked).
I will make a wifi folder backup from that - will report back as soon as I get results.

[KERNEL][3.4.47][05-06-13]Flykernel 3 - working torch!

Im back again and totally redid the kernel and updated to .47.
Im using the latest sources and torch is working! Bootlogo too, just like in the kernel sources from nAa/legacyXperia.
It is built with linaro 4.8.
Ive made some changes and adjustments to my local source, please try it out.
You can download it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?qc7qoywewdboi
You will need to push the 2 wifi modules to /system/lib/modules/
Only tested with Mikes rom.
So , the only difference from 3.0.8 is the o/c ability ?
o/c, all the latest patches from the 3.0.x kernel to .77 and build with latest linaro. Thats it ATM

the 2 .ko files are the wifi modules.
You should move then to /system/lib/modules with ADB.
Or move then to your sdcard and then copy then to /system/lib/modules/ using a file explorer (eg ES file explorer)

Extract & flash .ftf from zip. then flash rom (if recovery is working ) but better flash rom first using CWM 6 then flash provided ftf..just in case nothing will work. make sure you will be able to restore your x10 from hell state UB only.
This is RAW build..mostly based on Tof's work..with 3.0.8 kernel.. (Thanks bud )
Finally..hit thanks button and feed me a juicy burger if this will boot :fingers-crossed: :good:
Peace out...

flashed kernel. but cannot go to cwm. not even cwm lights.just showing feralab logo.
Wow Fera, you have excelled yourself here! I am so going to try this!!
Just tried flashing it and it only seems to flash the kernel (Flashtool flashes it really quickly, a couple of seconds, it would be much longer if it was the entire ROM flashing) Am I doing something wrong?

ok. cm12 kernel don't have recovery access..use any kernel with cwm6 to flash rom..then pull out battery and flash cm12 kernel to boot new rom.
Tried as you mentioned several times.
Downloaded rom file just provide ROM FILE WITHOUT ANY EXTENTION. just a file. When i rename it as zip, cwm says cannot open. When i rename as RAR, cwm cannot find file. Plz provide proper ROM.ZIP file if you can
reuploaded fixed zip and updated OP.

Hi again Mate i keep getting error's trying to download.
It keeps redirecting to register and pay for download?
The free download is currently not available - Please try again later! Premium account users are not affected by this temporary limitation.
Ok I tried internet explore to download and it is now downloading. So it must of been my ad-blocker on chrome stopping it? It say's it will take approx 3 hour's. I'll try to reflash when it's finished.
Thank you
Tried to install this. Installed the rom first and then flashed the kernel. It gets stuck at the bootlogo. It doesn't spin like Kernel v27 does. I couldn't get logcat to connect to my phone so nog logs sadly

ROM and Kernel install without problems, however as above, the boot process hangs on the FeraLab logo. (waited over 10mins)
No dmesg available at this boot stage.
@FeraVolt maybe you should place /system on sd. Maybe you should check lx cm12 sources , they did the same. just an ext4 partition on sd must be made on user's side

i installed rom by using gb kernel. Then i flashed jb kernel. rom booted. but when i move home screens, its always blur. cam worked, video record worked in law quality. ram usage is 192mb without any apps.i felt very slow and not much smooth when comparing with V40 gb. i couldn't take screenchots because there was no option. however happy with booting the rom.

Tried it today, if you install gapps the blur stops.
The rom is working quite well for what I was expecting.
It is a too laggy, process "com.android.phone" FC's and the notification bar freezes, you need to restart the phone. No reboots.
Wifi, bluetooth, gps, accelerometer, camera (8Mpx, video low), are all working.
This is a great first version of what could be a great rom for our old X10...
Thank you Fera!
