anyone out there able to send files to prime from a macbook using bluetooth? i can send files from my android phone to the prime, and i can send files from the mac to the android phone, bug can't send files from the mac to the prime. i can pair them ok, but the prime dialog to accept the file never pops up. i had the problem once before, then it started working and i sent several files, but that was the last time i was able to make a bluetooth transfer from the mac to the prime. if anyone has any ideas, would appreciate the input. -cj-

Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201
The fact of the matter is most of us here don't use a mac.
If you want wireless transfer, use file manager hd to transfer files through your wireless network.

I have been trying to get my G Tablet to connect to my computers (Windows 7 x64 and OSX 10.4.11) without success. I managed to PAIR the tablet with the computers, but I can never get them to CONNECT. After I hit the connect button, nothing happens. I want to bluetooth to transfer files wirelessly, or even stream music and share internet connections.
By the way, I am running CyanogenMod 7.0.2.

I was able to send a file from my linux desktop to the gtab... the linux box sees it as a "phone" profile, which might mean it only has a limited set of bluetooth services installed.
Wanted to bring this back up as I am having the same issues, connecting with my HTC Thunderbolt. Pairs with everything, but doesn't connect. Kind of a shame when I need BT to tether. Anyone find a fix yet?
Sorry to open a new thread, I cannot really find any help on this, that I can understand at least.
I have several device at home with Android of different versions.
How do I transfer files or pictures, music and so on between them?
Do I have to use an app. which is suitable for all the different version of Androids, or does Android have a "built-in" way to do that.
My devices are paired with it, but I could not find out.
Any help, guide, tutorials idiot-proof?
Thanks
it should be a built in feature. nothing special should be needed. you first have to pair both devices together. make sure devices are discoverable when you do it so they can connect. then on prime search for devices. then you should see your phone up there. select it. then it'll send a pin code message to phone for you to confirm. confirm on the phone then confirm on the prime. now devices should be paired up.
now to test it, take your phone and go to your picture gallery. select one of your photos or videos. then press option to share it. then select BT. then a pop up should appear on phone showing your prime. if not then press scan for BT devices. then select the prime on it. after a second or two, your notifications on the prime will go off. press it and it'll tell you a BT device is trying to send you something. accept it. then it should start transferring the file. you can see the progress bar in notifications area. when it's done it'll let you know.
if any issues or still can't get it to work, just post back.
p.s. glad to hear you got your prime back
...thanks man, it worked like a charm between ATP and Galaxy S Plus mobile..

no problem. I use it all the time to transfer files from my Motorola Atrix to prime. like pictures and videos. now if we can get this wifi direct in this new update working, we could use that instead and the file transfer and different capabilities would be alot faster and better.
I've been having an issue where the my phone won't connect to the tablet through bt for the main purpose of file transfer. Thank you for explaining how it is done as I was able to pair the devices but it would not "connect" like it would with say... bt headphones or my laptop. With the laptop it sets up a whole profile in the bt settings for file transferring or audio but the the various phones I've tried to connect with I would only get rename or unpair. I thought that "connect" status had to be established for any transferring to be done or to use the bt gps apps.
I tried what you suggested and it worked for transferring pictures in the gallery. Thanks

glad to hear you got it working. it doesn't need to "connect" or say it for pics, video, and file transfers. As long as both devices paired, you should be good. it only needs to connect for BT tethering, head phones, and things like that on prime.
Hi there,
I've look in the other topic before starting this one as the others didn't treat about the same things.
I'm under windows 7 on my computer, I recently had a bluetooth dongle (bluetooth 4.0 dongle) on my computer.
What I want to do is to use my internet connection (cable) of my computer with my tf201 using a bluetooth connection.
I can pair the computer and the tf201 but I didn't have the possibility to use the internet acces whereas I have PAN service avalaible in my computer on the option with the tf201.
Did someone already do that and can help me doing all the necessary so I can do this sharing ?
I notice that the virtual PAN network is indicated as a cable network (I don't understant why but I suppose it's the way it work under windows)...
I hope someone could help.
See you.
No one can help me ?
to stream videos from windows 7 to my ps3?
not using the internet just using the prime's hotspot feature
Why do you want to use the tfp as hotspot instead of just setting up an ad-hoc connection on your windows 7 machine and connect your ps3 directly to it!
I don't understand why someone would want to use the prime as a hotspot. it as no cellular data and any device you would point to your prime could obviously hook up to what ever wireless ap your prime would have. am i missing something here?

? again, I want to stream media from my laptop on to my ps3. I notice the prime has a hotspot feature so me not being tech swavy I figured I connect the laptop to the prime and the ps3 to the prime to share media
Like I said you don't need the prime your laptop has a hotspot feature as well. Just go to the network center add a connection create an ad-hoc connection give it a name and password done. Now connect your ps3 to the network and start streaming.
Hi, I'm having a problem with file transfers over bluetooth. My phone, HTC EVO 4G LTE, pairs with the windows 7 laptop fine. I can receive files via bluetooth from the laptop but I can't send files to it, it always shows up as an unsuccessful send with no notification on the laptop of anything being sent to begin with. The laptop is set to allow files to be sent/received over bluetooth. My co-worker paired his phone, Samsung Galaxy S3, with the laptop which paired fine but it also wasn't able to send files successfully to the laptop. We tried both phones on another windows 7 laptop and ended up with the same scenario. Then we tested it out on 2 different MAC computers and had no difficulty sending/receiving. Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?
