Hi all, I'm posting here because I haven yet gotten the privilege to post in the development section, although I've been following android development keenly. Okay, I'd like to bring it to the notice of the dev of NightlyFourE.. that I flashed the latest version of his ROM ie V4.3.2 yesterday on my Optimus One with the old baseband, and downloaded the old baseband fix from PerfectPeso's website (aspee's patch didn't work for me)
Everything worked fine, until I found out that data doesn't work after I disable it and again try to re-enable it.. once or twice it did.. and then the same thing. I tried rebooting too.
Not that I'm complaining, just wanted to bring it to the notice of the dev, he and the community might find this interesting
Upgrade to new BB
Have you tried aspee's old baseband fix instead,I've used that one on nearly every new baseband rom other than blackbird or cm9..look for fix in dev section.the title of the tread is old baseband fix

Downloaded aspee's fix.. Works
When I'd previously downloaded, it was some 50-60kB.. this time it was 2.7mB so I guess something was wrong with the previous fix
Works like a charm

hey guy !!NightlyFourE v4.3.2 only for new bb , why are u use baseband fix from PerfectPeso's website ? if this way succesdfull dave of NightlyFourE said it'd for both-bb , plz read the information about rom before flash,.
I am apprehensive updating to new baseband. So I used the old BB patch.. used the one from PerfectPeso's website because aspee's earlier patch didn't work. The new updated one does.

he mentioned it in the later posts that the rom can be used with the old bb too...
I'm a US T-Mobile user, the new CM nightly 20120303(#35 essentially) has working data now without patching for new BB. Old BB fix works too.

@Paulenski oh, so it was basically a bug in the previous nightlies, I assume. Awesome that they've made it work.

Good Morning everyone (or afternoon or night)!
Yesterday i flashed CM7 for the first time ever (Never flashed nothing before, except TWRP which i did it like 2 days ago.). Flashed it through TWRP Recovery and had a problem but solved it (froze on CM7 Logo). But this morning i noticed i had another problem, no GSM! When i flashed it and booted into system i found it wierd that it didnt ask me for my PIN but i was waaaaay to sleepy to think about it. But thats not all, as I found that i didnt had GSM, I also noticed that i didnt have my SIM contacts listed.
So if any of you could help me with this i would really appreciate it, as i really need my GSM working!
Any kind of help is welcome! Even if it means Flashing another ROM. Just really need my GSM working for now!
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354 <-- Where i downloaded CM7
- Before CM7 i had the 2.3.3 official update
PS: Yesterday when i had that freezing problem at CM7 Logo i flashed the patch mik mentioned on the FAQ's (see "Q: I flashed rom and GSM don't works. What's to do?"). It says that would fix that freezing problem and also would fix the no GSM problem but it didnt!
Thank you all in advance for all the help you might give!

You can restore something only if you backed it up. So if you made a backup of your old ROM go into recovery and hit restore. If not either flash a .zip ROM or use KDZ.
Good and bad news guys! i restored my 2.3.3 stock ROM and managed to get GSM again.(had to downgrade the baseband for 2.3.3 stock), that is the good thing!
The bad thing(not that bad i think i can manage to get it ) is that i wanted to flash a custom ROM but im not sure if i should do it because i thought CM7 was one of the best ROM's to flash and i was amazed by it at first! But that GSM thingy got me a bit mad and a bit insecure about doing it again. I wouldnt get mad and would have kept the ROM if i had solved the GSM problem but i didnt!
Any suggestions of what i should do? Any ROM's suggestions? (preferably with that awesomeee CRT off animation [yeah every one loves it!])
Ill wait for your replies! thank you very much for everything you done to help!

If u want to have CM7 by Mik you have to downgrade your baseband. Short way is using KDZ to flash old version of firmaware (v10a or similiar), then ROOT, install custom recovery and then flash CM7.
Well the only experience i have at rooting was by rooting my p500 with 2.3.3 official with superoneclick! I dont really know how to downgrade the firmware and root it on froyo! But if anyone could provide the way to do that i would really appreciate it!
Btw im sry if im asking too much, but i prefer the opinion and help of a more experienced person than just me finding something and boom! Bricked! But i also search even if i ask you guys something!
Thank you very much for your help!

Read the entire guide, step by step!!!... Anyway it is pretty straightforward
BTW, remember to first install lg drivers on your pc... connect the phone via usb and disable LGE Virtual Modem drivers from device manager on windows,, --> this is extremely important to succeed!
My phone is ok again TakamineSubasa! i just needed an opinion on which ROM should i flash! I've done that guide and it went well! (for the 2.3.3 version! i think i messed up and used P500-v20G-baseband for CM7 [wrong one] and should have used P500-v10E-baseband). But ofc a stable ROM that doesnt have GSM problems :s
btw i was really disappointed with CM7 (or i just dont know nothing about it!). I used it all day (even though i had GSM) and i had no messaging widget, no market, and other things i dont remenber! If i flash it again is there a way to have those apps and widgets like normal stock ROM has?
Thank you very much for the help!

No market? U forgot a flash gapps. Other Widgets I dun think so.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Yep, as terratrix, you must flash gapps in order to get the market on your phone and install everything you want....
Concerning abt stock widgets, CM7 does not include any stock lg crap... although you can install them later if you want, there are posts on how to install stock **** again but dunno where they are ...
btw, --> here you have the lastest gapps available: http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
for your security, flash this zip with Zip Signature Verification on in TWRP, to ensure that everything its going to be perfect
Thank you very much guys! ill probably flash sonygen but not sure yet! Need some opinions! if anyone is willing to give some i would appreciate!
Thanks for all the help!
Sonygen is pretty nice and fast. It's a themed cm7, so if you like the SE style go ahead and flash it.

Awesome news! i decided to flash CM7 again! Did the tutorial terratrix provided right after i flashed it and GSM is working perfectly! (just dont know why i had to import my contacts to the phone! Aparentely CM7 doesnt read contacts that are in the SIM card! No biggie!)
Thank you so much for every help you provided guys!
Loving this forum!
Before I start 1) I understand the is a patch for gsm with no data. 2) I also know that I can flash the old baseband. But I wanted to know if the is a way (either being developed or could be) to get it working. I would give it a go myself but I Haven't the slightest clue about what to do. So please no NOOB GO GET OLD BASEBAND INSTEAD OF NEW BASEBAND SH*T. Just a simple question/answer.
There is no way u could get gsm n data working on new baseband on mik's rom.And no one should ever waste his time in making this work, since the old baseband gives no problem atall.
Hey there.
Here is a link with the [HowTo] to downgrade to the old baseband:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217504
cant really help you with the new baseband. I had to downgrade to the old one to get the gsm working.
Just a little help.
I think that using the new baseband only because it's "new" is simply stupid. I bet that you don't even know what's new in it. The old one is good and stable. You'll make your life easier if you use the old one instead of asking how to use mobile data with the new one.
Alternatively, you can try to compile the new CyanogenMod Mik is working on. Maybe he already fixed this.

Well gsm works why not data? and its not wasted time. As everytime I want to test a new version of a rom or a new rom (Andy's rom) I have to downgrade baseband use it. Then prefare a different rom and have to upgrade baseband. Its a hasel so if one could make one universal baseband that would be ideal.

Did you mean the telus patcher at the end of the quiksense post? I actually flashed that one or else the wifi wont work. Or its a different thing I havnt seen yet?
I, personally, used the kernel tool (and attached kernel on post one of that thread) and have had no issues with bluetooth or wifi.
If you have have flashed the patch in the ROM thread and have problems (you shouldn't, because xboarder is amazing) than I would recommend the two step kernel flashing utility.
Hopefully, that helps...

Remove applications from ROM
xboarder56, I can't write in the "development", so I THANK you here for the great job!
I have one request. Is it possible do NOT include in the future "Amazing QuikSense" applications that can be downloaded from the Market? For example, "Facebook", "Peep"?
no our it will fcs junk i tried
I have seen alot Old Baseband Based Rom.zzzzz Only Ciaox and some others are using new baseband. I dun wanna flash back to old baseband, its kinda risky. ZZZZ
It should be easy to switch back to the old baseband if you did it already to upgrade. Just follow instructions exactly and you should be fine. If the developers don't want or have time to make their ROM compatible with the new baseband, they shouldn't have to. They have worked long days to provide us polished products and the least we can do is to not nag them to do something. Shouldn't take long just go back to the old baseband.
TY
Yeah, Kinda Risky To Go Back Old Baseband
Its simple and easy to shift baseband ..
Follow one rule to avoid bricking --never pull out battery whatsoever happens while changing baseband ..in d past week i have changed my baseband more than 35-50times ..its just a 2min process...
And making a v10 rom run on v20 is almost impossible so better change yur baseband else dont hope

Well unless you want 3G/data. which hasn't yet fixed. But anyways you can use wifi.
It's a good thing I still have the old baseband. But I do wanna try other roms for the new baseband too. Thanks for the link.
Well this thread is specifically for T-Mobile USA users on v20g baseband..for those noobs who don't know..v20 is new baseband...I wanted to compile a list of working roms with working mobile data..the only problem: I don't have a computer and typing on a virtual keyboard is time consuming and tedious..as far as I know, another thread like this doesn't exist..there are a few roms that flash perfectly but the only problem is most of em don't give you working data..if anyone has pointers on how to fix the solution..speak your mind...I've been emailed quite frequently about all of this so I'm not undermining anyone's advice...one senior member gave me a suggestion but I have yet to try it, if you want to try it let me know and ill post results...I want this thread to help other tmobile usa users out

I can't remember precisely which roms aren't working for me but one in particular comes to mind and that's popdog123's oxygen v2.7..it flashes fine but I get no mobile data
