Has anyone been successful in getting the official Twitter app to sync w/contacts/address book on CM9 A2 on the TP? I uncheck then recheck sync under Settings | Accounts & Sync | Twitter | Sync Contacts. It spins and then I get an exclamation point stating sync is experiencing problems but will be back shortly (which is not the case). Is this a known issue perhaps? Just looking for a fix or word that it is an issue in this build - just so I know either way... Thanks.
Its a known issue... got to do with twitter app.. nthing rom related

Thanks for confirming that. So hopefully a future app update will fix that.

An update for Twitter is released and it promises to solve this problem!

I installed the update and it still timed out. I do not believe the update fixed the issue with syncing contacts. :c

I just tried clearing app data & cache and sync still fails. Next I'll try a complete uninstall / reinstall to see if that works....

FAIL! Uninstall &. Reinstall had no effect - still broken!

Just noticed that if I go into any or my contacts that have been synced to Facebook will force close if i open them. I tried removing my Facebook account and cleared the data of the contacts app but still get a force close.
I'd really like to not have to reset to try and fix it. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I can't even open the display options in the contacts menu.

Have you guys installed the leaked Google+ app?

My cousin was having the same problem on the Droid X yesterday. He did everything you could think of and contacts kept closing. In the end he unlinked facebook completely (from accounts) and the contacts app was fine. If you already tried that then i suggest probably uninstall facebook to see if it still happens.
also if you have any system apps frozen i would suggest you unfreeze them, this will cause contacts to crash too, depending on which one of course.

Was it's an auto download? Cause if not I didn't download it and I looked in my apps I don't see it. Help.
I am having a force close issue when trying to add a new contact. Also can't goto "My Profile" in contacts menu. ANDROID.PROCESS.ACORE stopped unexpectedly. I love the ROM just reporting a bug. I can't post in developer forum yet if someone would be so kind to pass the word and let me know if you are having same issues. Thanks

If you ask in ROM thread then you might get some more answers.
Try fixing permissions from ROM manager.

are you running the ICS google+ or google music? That has a known issue with FC's when modifying or creating contacts

Posted this over in the thread for ya.
Also saw this response from gtg to a previous posters question which may or may not pertain to your issue...

Nothing in the update has anything to do with the contacts app though. And I updated to v1.0.3 using the update zip just like you did and no problems with my contacts app. Did you freeze or remove some apps with Titanium Backup? That can do it if you remove the wrong thing. There are a lot of things that can do it. Check your recently installed apps as well.

Turns out it is Facebook. I do not sync my contacts however if I delete my Facebook account from accounts and sync I can save a new contact. Then of course I can't log back into Facebook without it trying to sync contact again!

I sync my Facebook contacts and still don't have a problem. You using the Samsung Facebook sync or the actual app?
I was using the facebook app. After adding my Facebook account thru socialhub everything works. Must be facebooks problem?

This is probably my problem then. I am running ICS G+. Adding my Facebook account to socialhub fixes the problem though.

It displays "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It'll be back shortly." and when I check it it's Facebook Calendar with the exclamation mark.
It doesn't sync since July 5th, which is when I got the ICS/Sense 3.6 update.
I noticed Facebook for HTC Sense isn't displayed in the Accounts & Sync list anymore since that update, is that normal?
Yes, I'm in mean rom latest ics, i just disabled it

My phone has just disconnected by itself from Facebook right now saying "authentication failed" and when I logged in back the calendar sync is back working. It looks like removing the account and re-adding it solved the issue.
I'm having this same issue, however removing the account and re-adding it does not solve the issue. Can anyone help?
MeanROM ICS v2.6 and stock kernel.
I'm having the same issues sometimes. I'm almost positive it's the pos Facebook app. That thing is straight garbage.

Facebook needs to get their act together on this. How come they are the only ones that can't seem to make an Android app run properly?
Mine is working fine since then...
As far as I know, Facebook calendar sync doesn't come from the official app. It's (Facebook for) HTC Sense.
Maybe you could try to logout / remove on the phone, then go to Facebook website and remove the HTC Sense app from the app settings page, then login again on the phone.
This is the message I get every time I try to sync my phones calendar with my Google account calendar. No appointments are showing up on my phone. Everything else such as e-mail and contacts sync just fine. What am I missing here?

Try SystemSettings->Apps->Calendar->clear data
If doesn't help - flash to rooted stock and do factory reset.
And you failed to say if u r running Stock ROM or AOKP or CM9/10.
Sorry. Running a stock deodexed rooted Rom on VZW GSIII. I recall I got the same message before I rooted too.

Factory reset on rooted stock ROM did not fix the problem. Any other ideas?
I had a similar issue on my Xoom (and found this thread when I was posting a solution on the Xoom forum).
I wound up deleting my gmail account and setting it up as an enterprise account (called "Corporate" in settings). It now works flawlessly, so I hope it will work on your GSIII.
Here's the link:

Doesn't look llike that's an option on my gsiii.
Hard reset didn't work. I even flashed stock unrooted ROM via Odin. Now pretty much back to the phones original condition.
Still not syncing and getting the same message. So it's either the hardware (didnt think this could be a hardware problem) or a problem with my Google account (then why would email and contacts sync no problem?)
I'm stumped. Should I take the phone to the store?

Does the facebook app still do that annoying authenticating thing once a day on sense 3.6 roms?

Also does maps still cause a reboot on older firmware on sense 3.6?

Maps works on global firmware, but not anything older.

This is incorrect. I have the OTA (3.14 or whatever it was) and Maps works fine now. No reboots.
EDIT: Speaking of which is 4.01/4.02 an actual OTA? I never got it.

Maybe it was fixed on Google's end.
I just know that when they first updated it with the new icon, it didn't work on older firmwares.

Ya it appears to be fixed on Google's end. Although I'm still on the leak before the ota so we shall see

Current Google Maps works on all GB & ICS ROMs on the Rezound with no issues, and has since version 6.11.1 (current is 6.12.0 I believe). Google fixed it a while back.
The Facebook authentication issues is tricky, it's not really a Facebook app thing, more of how the FB app and Facebook for HTC Sense work together. The key is to only sync stuff from one service, if you do both you will have issues. Best thing to do is remove all apps and updates for Facebook, delete all Facebook accounts, and add the Facebook account back in with no Facebook app loaded (using FB for HTC Sense), then install the latest FB app and when it asks about importing contacts or setting up sync make sure NOT to do it. Since I did it this way everything is in sync and I have not had a single auth issue.
The other way around it is delete all FB apps and accounts, then go to Facebook for HTC Sense and clear data, then disable FB for HTC Sense, reboot and add in the Facebook app and then the account... but it seems to me you do not get Calendar or Live Feed synchronization of data this way (effects widgets and calendar events).
