One guy did nand' my Miui nandroid onto a Mx2 236 and wifi did not work so this would be the same but if you are on unlimited data everything else video, sound may work on the Mx2 236.
You can # these out yourself. Use Root Explorer to unzip MIUI4DX2B1.zip and edit then rezip. Done.
The kernel check is the first action taken In the META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script:

I have vids on you tube working great but just in hq. If hq is off vids bomb.
I may have done some other hacks to get this not sure It could be turning all the compatibility off plus the browser.

YouTube works fine for me as long as HD is selceted if not they will not play

I know you can turn it off manually for individual apps, but I don't know about changing what it defaults to for all user apps. I would imagine you probably can, though how is past my understanding of android.

I am giving this a try. I will report back with what I have.
I have been running MIUI and it runs great on the MX2. Everything works except for wifi. Even themes work!
EDIT: I am also reporting back that Camcorder does not work either .

I compiled my first ROM from source FRF91 for N1 w/root su+busybox+de-odex+gapps. The time of my AOSP -b master sync was around 9:00a pst, 07/10/10. This is not a "kang" of Modaco or CyanogenMod but I credit both and all teamdouche since I regularly need to look into their work to teach myself. Thank you dferreira and jr33 for not flaming my many noob questions and also thanks to dsixda for his reqularly updated android kitchen.
I still can't do much customizing and adding features because I still have to get better at too many things...sorry. Feel free to report bugs and I hope some of you could tell me how to fix simple things or add features by directing me to resources.
I am using themes by micromod777 for FRF91 that do work on this ROM.

If you don't have the new radio installed, fastboot flash radio first.

no... i bumped it because i had an old post that i wanted to re-title and use. that post had no replies so i recycled it. why the hate?

thanks for trying out this rom guys. it is not a cut-n-paste. i really did compile from source. it took 5 alphas to get to this release. it is like a hobby for me to try and solve puzzles and that's how i tackled making the rom. i have zero programming knowledge and have fun relaxing trying to follow steps in a process to accomplish a goal.
When will you work on your desire rom project again? We really need someone to work on desire port beside paul. hopefully you can challenge yourself and make that desire rom perfect.

thank you. ...not an update though. it's a source build compile. the post i recycled had a paste-n-bake kang of an early aosp 2.2 that chris soyars put out via a tweet... ...and hundreds of people downloaded it but not one person posted a reply since i made clear i simply was passing it along.
so you know... i think the other flame was also intended for me...not you.

How about compiling Stk.apk and extract the dictionaries from the LatinIMEGoogle.apk and putting them in the corresponding locations in your LatinIME source. That will get you more layouts than the Google keyboard and still all the features since they have now been included in the AOSP version. The Stk.apk (SIM Toolkit) is also useful for a lot of people, and only work AOSP based roms, and might possibly drive more people towards this rom if they want the stock experiance.
It should simply be a matter of running 'make -j4 LatinIME' and 'make -j4 Stk' with the -j flagset to your number of cores + 1 or 2.

I'm working on the same kind of project you are. The problem I'm running into is that every app that tries to access GPS location FCs on me. Did you ever come across this? Maps won't run at all, and I've had to set my homepage to something other than Google since it FCs the browser when it calls for location. I've got a working build otherwise!

Very cool that you have a working build environment. What OS are set up in?
I do not get the error you describe. Run a logcat either with ADB or using Logger from Market. Reading the log makes it easier to ask for help based on the specific errors. That is what I do. Ask the pros for advice. Some are helpful. Most ignore us noobs.

I'm in the exact same boat, just jumped into android about a month or two ago with my nexus (from an iPhone 2g, no less lol), ain't no turning back now
I'm also building a rom from source, more as a side-project to better familiarize myself with Android, but if it turns out well then that's always a plus.

saw it in market and DL'd/installed fine for me on CM7 ba2tf. pretty poor port though.
Oh okay cool. Well damn I don't know why it says incompatible for me on Weekly 4..? I guess If somebody else is having the same prob as me the apk is now easy to find.
Is it full screen for you? Toggling compatability mode in Spare Parts didnt seam to work for me on this app.

nope, it's a crappy WVGA port with no button functionality, just the stupid iphone style interface.

The resolution is off, it does not take up the full screen. Maybe one of you mad scientist can dissect it for us?
It is just a port of the iOS version so it leaves a little to be desired, but at least it does work even though the Market says its not compatible..

it's on the market for atrix now. terribly made app. just ported from iphone. doesn't fill up full screen or have any button functionality. actually, doesn't have much functionality at all. basically check stats and that's it. stupid iphone ports

Found this application which was once only on i-application(iphone) working fine on our touchpad and yes it also plays good on my LG optimus one too. It is like google currents but a little different in work around. Enjoy the port.

compared to the browser....you'd have to argue the need for this, it was designed for the phone (GS3) and all that's been done is ported from there. If they developer made a bespoke tablet version then it'd be nice. but hey, thats my beef with ICS at the moment, many apps are stretched and look wrong

I was working on it.... Never got it right, as it appears I was only able to change the UI fonts. The article fonts themselves appear to be set remotely and just displayed locally. So it didn't even fix the biggest issue with the fonts which is in the articles themselves. It only fixed the UI and header fonts. I was going to post the APK anyway, but I found a force close error when trying to add new feeds, so that made things not so nice. Add to that the fact that for some reason, the APK wasn't installable unless I re-signed it, that makes it difficult to switch between versions without uninstalling/reinstalling, I decided not to post the modified APK.
If a developer type wants, I can send the modified APK directly. I'm not going to post it here because it's A) not stable and B) didn't achieve the intended purpose anyway, and C) I don't want to have to support something that's broken/unfinished.
Anyone that knows how to decompile/recompile an APK can do the same thing I did. All I did was reduce the font sizes in the XML layout and values files. As I said though, that didn't have any effect on the actual article content, which appeared to be defined remotely.

All you have to do is go to the Firefox mobile site and when you SEARCH for thebl keyword FLASH the first thing that comes up is a page stating that Firefox for tablets DOES NOT support Flash, although the beta version does but just for phones. Amazing the info I found with a 30 second search and read

Try ICS Browser+. I'm sure the Mozilla bunch will come up with a fix eventually.

firefox nightly already has support for flash
also some of the aurora builds back in march had it too {if i remember correctly they introduced the flash fix)
Hello. I thought I would share this little tip for people who enjoy AOSP roms, but miss the 1080p option in the YouTube app.
Simply change this line in your build.prop file.
ro.build.version.release=4.4.4
change it to:
ro.build.version.release=4.4.2
Save it
Reboot your device.
If it doesn't work right away you simply go to YouTube App Info and press Clear cache and Clear data. Then open the YouTube app again and enjoy 1080p!

Nice! BTW this should also enable the 1440p option, if you happen to own a device with a Quad HD display!
it's all fun and games but the real question here is why it doesn't work on stock LG that has "4.4.2" in it's build.prop as is.

Yeah. That is very strange if that is indeed the case... The G3 ported roms all work great with 1080p though... I think Google will soon flip the switch and make it work out of the box
