[Q] Market Headaches... - HTC EVO 3D

So here's my deal... I tried to purchase SuperGNES last week and tried paying with the "add to my sprint Bill option" which I have used before successfully. The purchase failed for some reason or another, but in my marketplace it shows that it is already purchased now and I have no way of paying for it. When I try to install it gives me the message "can not download because you have not purchased this app". Well durrr I know this Google, I wish I could freakin purchase it but your market has bugged on me! So anyways I have wiped data from market which doesn't help, heck I've done a full factory reset and wiped the whole phone multiple times. I have contacted Google and the dev multiple times and no one can seem to.give me an answer. What the heck can I do? Specs are as follows:
Infected ROM Eternity r137 ( or something close to that)
AnthraX Kernel test 06
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I would go to 4shared

[Q] buy a previously refunded app?

so theres an app I want to buy, on Google play but I can't. It says purchased, prompts me to install, but when I do, it tells me it can't be downloaded because I haven't purchased it.
IIRC about a year ago, I tried it out and I wasn't satisfied, but I saw it on a friends phone yesterday and it looked great, so I wanted to give it another try.
How do I actually get the app? I don't want to be forced to obtain it in a less legal manner.......

Try clearing market data and cache. A reboot might need to be done as well. Also make sure that your phone is at normal dpi before you start. Good luck!
Absolution 3.7/Redemption ICS A2b1
Thanks for the tips but they didn't work :/
Its also says "install" instead of purchase on the play store online... any ideas what to do?

Another question

Is there a reason why in the market apps that I have already bought have a price tag on them again? Normally it says purchased, but now it shows the price, and when I click to buy them, it says error. Any ideas why?

I'm also getting the same error, don't know why.
It sucks cause Im always changing Roms and I cleaned out my SD card which deleted all my backups and things from titanium, and now I can't seem to get my paid apps and I have a lot of them, I can buy new ones, just can't retrieve my old ones lol. This blows.
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using XDA
IF you already paid for the aps there should be a reciept in the google acc't associated with your phone/market. Just contact the developer, there shoul;dnt be any reason why you should have to pay twice, which hopefuly you havn't lol.
I always make a backup of my backups onto my pc, including anything from titanium pro.
probably a glitch or something. I love TB but I also use one of the ap backup aps from market just to be safe, best is the ones that save the apk.
Check your google emails for the reciept then contact the dev of the ap, most times they are cool, although I have run into a few who take their sweet azz time responding.
Backups are great but backups of backups are even better!
GL !
lol it goes through than it gives me back my money, saying order cancelled, and doesn't download the app. But if i want to buy a new app it goes through, just weird. Wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and if they did how to fix it.
settings>applications>play store>clear cache and data
haha, didn't work /:
maybe try installing a new vending.apk through root explorer?
Go to the market website on a computer and install it, doesn't ask for you to pay and it fixes it. Worked for me the other day anyways.

Go to settings and remove all market updates and install Google Play again and it should fix the problem.

Google wallet stuck at initializing your device?

My wallet was working fine yesterday then I checked it and it said balance unavailable, so i reset it, now whenever I try to get it to restart or even restart the phone, it gets stuck at initializing your device, i'm hoping it's a server issue, but in not, google has to do something about this, this can't be cost effective for carriers to replace devices due to this issue. I did nothing to make this happen so getting it replaced doesn't solve much cuz i have no assurance that it isn't gonna happen again... this happen to anyone else?
I had similar issues, Google wallet is buggy! I also get Citi is unavailable at this time. Please try again soon. Must be another beta product. lol
Google wallet is down... been like this for like 5+ hours.
yeah I finally went thru after 3+ of initializing, this is soooo buggy! i cleared my setting and not touching it until i actually know i'm gonna use it!
back to initializing smh, buggy pos

Give it a few days, too many people subscribing or signing in to the service at the same time, servers might be up to their knees with requests (not that servers are people lol, but you guys should get the comment)

i called customer service. it's been down atleast 5 hours as i write this. They told me that "provisioning is down" and "cards are suspended". Sylvester claimed to be the training rep there, but couldn't tell me what that really meant, and said he had no other updates and couldn't say if it was a planned outage. I asked about transferring my money away from google wallet. he had to check with someone and came back and told me if i could give him my id, then he could have my money transferred in 30 to 45 days....
I asked if there was someone he could call to try and get an update. he said there was noone to call.
I asked how i would have been notified of this outage. he said google would email me...well i don't have an email...he said it's because google hasn't sent one.
guess the lesson here is don't rely on google wallet.
This Google Wallet system is broke. This BETA crap needs to stop. I am still waiting on $40 dollars from getting a Nexus. They need to get it together.

I'm in this boat as well. I loaded 50 on wallet last Thursday. Was going to be my lunch allowance for the next 2 weeks. Now I go hungry today, and have to pack some PBJ for the rest of the work week. *sigh*
I as well reset my wallet app this morning (in preparation for rooting) and now I'm stuck at "initializing your device". I really don't like this, it makes me uneasy. You would think google of all people would have the resources setup to deal with an influx of traffic.
I love google wallet and I hope they straighten these issues out.
Don't sweat it... The same thing happened to me... I was going to unroot and exchange the phone but then the next morning I thought I would give it one more try and it worked fine... I would give it a day.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one having this issue. I tried resetting in preparation for rooting, but it got stuck at 99%, then it restarted. Ever since I haven't gotten it past initialization. D:
Perhaps they're trying to put a stop this insecure element thing. Lets hope they realized it could potentially keep a lot of people from using wallet

Still broken, support still has no clue. I asked them about the transaction that says "sent" but i don't see any record for...they had to check.
tried to buy food overnight with the app, says sent, but the store never got it. had to pay with my real card. money network says if after 3 days it's still being held, to call back for a dispute.
horrible horrible tech support....
wayyyyy too buggy for me, and if it come back online and all our secure elements are borked, they are gonna had a huge issue!
Just did reset on wallet cuz about to root and hangs in 99%. Damn. What to do?

no certified in your country (google wallet)

all of a sudden google wallet started giving me this error Unfortunately, Google Wallet has not yet been certified in your country or on your device / carrier.
This is the first time ive gotten this, ive been stuck on the adding a card and i peroidicly check from time to time to see if it works yet and tonight and i now im getting this.. I have to hit ok and it closes the app.. not sure what i should do, im running fresh rom 5.1.1 and it was working earlier today.. i havent installed any apps or anything like that..
i keep thinking to clear the app data and uninstall the update, but im afraid of breaking my secure element.. Anyone have any ideas?

Evidently since Sprint is going to introduce their form of wallet, called "Touch" (I think it was) google probably pulled it from us. That and they couldn't ever get it working for all of us. I got same message tonight too.

Anyone tried anything to fix it? I went into recovery and wiped my cache and dalvik cache. Still getting the same thing..
Just wondering if anyone tried clearing wallet data or uninstalled the update or app..

Same thing. I've been fighting with it all day cuz I thought it was because I flashed a custom ROM, but I've even gone back to stock and still getting it.
Interesting. Add this to the google wallet mystery bag. I just loaded up wallet. My app is nice and friendly with me still. I just rebooted a few times about an hour ago too as I did a nandroid(or the twrp equivalent).
I hope that google figures this out because
1. I want to support google and I want them to be successful
2. When iPhone 7 comes out with NFC technology, they will steal the glory and everyone in the cult will be oblivious that android even utilized it first. Google should patent and make an itc suit on it. Hehe.
EDIT/UPDATE
Upon waking up this morning and being paid, I was going to add funds to my google wallet account. I open the app and get the not supported in yuour country message.
I'm glad I at least didn't apply any money to it beforehand where I couldn't use it now.
Bummer.
I wish Google would make an announcement about this.

Whatsapp Virus spreading?

Hello everyone,
I might have a big problem.
This morning I booted my HTC One M7 as usual, and when it finished booting it opened a browser tap with a fake whatsapp update. I closed the browser immediately, and five minutes after this, the exact same thing happened. I started thinking how this could happend, and honestly I have no clue. All my apps are from the play store, and I only download documents for school. I haven't even downloaded a new app in the last week, however 15+ of my apps aren't up to date.
I scanned my phone with malwarebytes and it couldn't find anything. I rebooted my phone after the scan, and the problem seems to be gone. I was telling this story to a friend of mine this afternoon, and my mother said that she experienced the same thing, just a couple hours before I experienced it. After further investigation, it wasn't exactly the same. When she opened whatsapp, it asked her to do a weekly back-up of her chats. At first, she closed whatsapp, but when it appeared again, she clicked yes. She wasn't very clear about this, so I don't know if it was a fake menu, or the real deal. I have also scanned her Moto g (2013), and it found no malware.
I don't know if this could be harmfull. Especially because my parents use their phones for mobile banking.
This is a screenshot of my HTC
It could easily have been done through whatsapp. Part of the reason most people have stopped using it. Viruses run rampant I'm just about all of Facebook apps. And no anti virus will find them as they are vastly different then normal viruses.

In the Netherlands literally everybody uses it, but it's good to know that this could indeed happen! Should I be worried about this, and what should I do when it returns?

Yeah I heard alot of people in Europe use it alot, here in the states almost no one uses it really except for kids. Most have moved to hangouts.
If I was you I would completely back up the device and then wipe everything and reflash the device.
Things like this will not be picked up by so called virus scanners.
I'am afraid that it is something like ShiftyBug (https://blog.lookout.com/blog/2015/11/04/trojanized-adware/). In the article it says that you have to install apps from third parties, but I have almost never done that. I have downloaded popcorntime in the past, but I have deletet it almost 6 months ago.
I'm afraid that if I reflash my device, that it will come back fairly soon. Is it possible that it has spread over my wifi network? Because of the fact that my mother got something similar on the same day.
But how do I know for sure that it is a virus? After I restarted my phone (12 hours ago), it hasn't shown up yet. Am I worried for nothing, or is there a big chances that I'm infected?
Thank you for all your replies!

The key word there is almost. If you reflash the device and it comes back then it maybe something that someopne else downloaded and was shared through your network. As you said your mother also saw it so I would go through her phone as well.
There are many apps out there that do this that are in the play store. So it is all a matter of being careful.
There is a chance. If it is big or not depends on how you use your device. It could also have come from a website someone visited. Im not saying you did but many porn sites are set to infect devices when they visit them.
If it was me. I would just start from scratch with each device and make sure that all the things installed are legit.
You could also run a logcat and try to reproduce it. That would tell you what is causing it.
Doesn't seem dangerous.

Then you have not been paying attention. Any browser pop that tells you to update an app is 99% an infected apk. It is a common practice for those that take apks and re-package them with malware
After reading more i must admit you are right.... My bad:good:
So I have to flash my phone, aren't there any other options? And if not, how do I reflash The HTC firmware to my phone?
Should I make a back-up before doing this, won't the malware spread again if I instal the back-up on my phone?
Thanks again!
EDIT:
Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to reproduce the problem.
I still haven't been able to reproduce the pop-up.
I do propably know where the problem came from, a friend of mine sent me a older version of soundcloud (the new one can't cache music). I installed that app, decided that it was to old for me and deleted it. The malware must have spread right after the first use. I'm planning on flashing my phone inthe weekend.
EDIT: I can reprodce the pop-up! It's linked to opening the app 'night mode', this app was downloaded in the official play store 2 years ago. Since then it hasn't got a lot of updates though.
Hey,
Time for a little update.
Last weekend, I contacted HTC's customer support due to the fact that I couldn't find my software version. They told me that I should execute a RUU, but they couldn't find the right version, so I had to contact the Dutch customer support (I didn't do this in the first place because the Dutch customer support wasn't open in the weekend).
The next monday (23-11) I contacted the Dutch customer support and asked them for the ROM, and unfortunately due to the regulations they don't publish the ROM's. However, they told me to do a factory reset and that should solve the issue. Unfortunately, it didn't. After the reset, I now get a different Whatsapp pop-up once or twice a day. The pop-up isn't connected to opening an app, like it was before the reset.
A friend of mine experienced the same problem this week on his new Moto X. All the other phones in my home network don't have this problem.
I hope someone will be able to help me!
Thanks in advance!

Depending on the malware a factory reset will not remove it. In fact most malware cant be removed that way. You have to flash the whole device to get rid of it.

As he said. Here is what I would do if I was in your place. Anyone got any extra steps to add feel free to chime in. This would kinda suck for a bit.
You will need a custom recovery. And a bit of time to set up
1. Take everything off device.
2. Format full device in recovery. Not factory reset. Format system, data, internal storage and both caches.
3. Flash complete stock firmware.
4. Get root before rebooting
5. Reboot, do not connect to wifi during set up. Do not restore anything.
6. Get Catlog from the play store and run it.
7. Then continue set up. Wifi and ect. Scan backed up files with a pc virus scan but only return what you really need.
8. When restoring from TIBU install apps fresh from the market and restore data only to apps. (sucks I know but only way to be sure) make sure to delete old back and redo.
Then monitor catlog. This will tell you everything going on. You would be able to figure it out.
