Probably, but it'd probably have crippled mobile data speeds since these two carriers use different frequencies for high speed data.

If its anything like the Skyrocket, which it is hardware wise then it could possibly have access to T-Mobile 3g with a modem flash. Let's hope so.

There's no guarantee... Have to look at the specs to find out bands on the phone.
EDIT: current specs that I found on gsmarena.com say that it DOESN'T get UMTS 1700mhz, which I believe is necessary for 3g/"4g" on T-mobile. So possible, yes, but with crippled data speeds.

lol, how do you think it gets LTE? 1700mhz. Like the Skyrocket, good try.
Like I said, we will have to wait and see if the s2 (t989) modem will work on it. Cross your fingers everyone.

Lol, then how does the Skyrocket get T-Mobile 3g? Haha, sorry man.
I'm not here to argue just saying that because the hardware is similar it could work. But again, there is no guarantee this trick will work with the At&t Note

Why not keep the international note? It'll have T-Mobile 3g, and will have much more dev support than the ATT version. Seems like a no-brainer to me seeing as you'll have one in your trades.

Right now the international one does not have 1700 for T-Mobile 3g. Also the international one will never have LTE.
And look at the AT&T S2 and skyrocket. They both have good dev support.

International does not get 3g on TMobile. There is a development bounty of $910 right now to try to get a dev to come with a work around. It shows 1700 but does not work.

That bounty will NEVER get paid. The 1700 is for GSM, which is for voice and data up to Edge. The phone doesn't have hardware to receive 1700 UMTS, which is needed for 3g/"4g" on T-mobile USA.

Hey, I have the exact same problem. I have been trying different roms on my note for the past 2 days and its a no go on CM9, AOKP either. I have been trying to use NFC with my GF's stock ICS Note
Umm yea. NFC also known as (Near Field Communication) technology is built in to the phone battery. If u want to check it should say it right on the phone battery, our Galaxy Note don't come with the NFC battery unfortunately.
Sent from "The King Kong of the cellular jungle, the Galaxy Note!" using Tapatalk 2
Umm our notes don't need a NFC battery man... The back plate has the NFC chip built on it. Galaxy Note i717 is the only Note with NFC.

I ran collective cp1 and now collective cp2 - on my i717 and nfc worked in both
Loving its functionality especially combing it with Tasker
by the way it first didn't work for me until i realized it was my leather case - the case replaced the original back panel and the original back panel had metal strips that served as the nfc antenna - the replacement case did not have these strips so my NFC did not work until i replaced the original back cover

Ok. Maybe a little more specific? The only time I even tried NFC was at a SGS3 display at a Costco. They have 3 little NFC tags that when you set the back of the Note over them, it launches the browser to a tutorial on the SGS3. Other than that that, I've found no other use as of yet.

Thanks. I ended up flashing a near stock ICS ROM to test NFC and it worked in that ROM. When I received my replacement Note I put DAGr8's latest AOKP on it right away. Now that I knew that NFC was working I re-downloaded the latest release AOKP release, Sep 28, and flashed it but NFC wasn't working. So I re-downloaded the last 2 versions of AOKP, Sep 19 & Sep 28,verified the MD5 and flashed them over each other in TWRP. That got NFC working in AOKP for whatever reason for me :silly:
Maybe someone could link to a pretty 9/11 cm10 nightly and then we could try a similar idea. I would try it

it may be like the sprint phone and be covered up by the sticker on the back.
bb really strips the phone down by taking the stylus and adding that security device in the back.

Then why doesn't it work? I have Qi compatible pad that charges a HTC Droid DNA just fine. But no dice with the Note 2
Agreed - those pins are part of the NFC antenna. The verizon model does not have the charging pins (or they are covered up by the backplate of the phone). The wireless charging pins would be next to the battery if they were visible.
See this for the pin locations:

Yep, those pins are for NFC. Unlike the Galaxy S3 which housed NFC in the battery, the Verizon Note 2 has NFC in the door. That's what those pins are for.

The other Note 2s had to have an induction coil added and connected to the charging pins for wireless charging to work. Look at this thread:

looks like you guys are right, no charging pins for verizon's model.

I thought about that but the connectors are actually on the motherboard, that said, you could mod the motherboard with copper tape, then use a wireless charging back (if they ever release them) from an international version

I have a rooted stock regular s4.
I didn't check the nfc before I rooted do I don't know if it worked before or not but now I can't use nfc tags at all, I haven't tried other phones because most of my friends are still stuck in pre-nfc devices.
It's the anything I can do to try and fix nfc?
