[Q] MK16i has wrong kbd mapping/need valid customization version - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

I've messed up my Xperia Pro by flashing a stock ROM that has the wrong product code (1249-8108) so now the keyboard mapping is mostly wrong. The phone is actually a 1249-7374, but I have no idea of how to get it back.
The current firmware is 4.0.2.A.0.58.
Does anyone know what needs to be changed and in what file(s) in order for SEUS to flash 4.0.2.A.0.62 1249-7374?
Alternatively, how do I change the keyboard mapping?
Am really grateful for any help on this!

I don't use Wotan, but isn't it possible to select a region for firmware downloads in WotanServer?

Wasn't aware of this eminent (free) service! Thank you!

In x10 mini pro, you could do it by editing "keyprint.xml" in system/usr/keyboard-config.
Maybe its same on Pro.

[FIRMWARE][Ray][ST18a][URUSHI][REQUEST]

Hi everyone,
I have searched XDA-developers and Google and was unable to find any ROMs, generic or not, relating to the ST18a model of the Xperia Ray.
Does anyone have access to this ROM? Or is there a way for me to extract it from my device?
It's be very useful for rooting and whatnot.
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hey there,
Can you point me to a good tutorial for making your own ROMs from your own device?
Problem solved
Hi, I'm from Mexico, and I was having the same issue you have.
Couldn't get a St18a rom anywhere.
I found this web site:
www(dot)wotanserver(dot)com/en/page/tutorial-debranding-flash-sony-ericsson
They say you have to download the driver package and then a flasher software.
I was a bit unconfident about it.
But since i already had flash tool and had mounted a St18i rom.
The worse could happen, was to have the need to reflash it again.
So, i tried and it worked, just as it said.
You just install the programs, run them, start your phone in flash mode, it detects it and install the driver. Then you have a list of compatible roms, select Generic Us (st18a) and that's it, let it work. It will flash it and tell when its over.
Next, you turn it on, and you have a St18a debranded phone :-D
They ussually charge for this services, by now, you just have to registere and can make 1 flash, totally charge free.
Hope I help you, just as much as all XDA developers have help me trought all my devices.
Best of lucks!
can somebody post stock st18A kernel as i crushed mine and can't download it to reflash
Is anyone with the ST18a nice enough to upload the official ROM? Would it be safe to flash an ST18i ROM on an ST18a?
ST18a and ST18i are based on the same firmware, the only difference is 3G working band.
I am not sure, but the ROMs should work on both. As I said, I am not sure, if someone would confirm this, would be nice.
Just the baseband files from original ST18a ROM would be needed.
I would rather not risk it, might try and find someone that has an ST18a running the stock ROM. Mine should be running the stock ROM, though I wanted to try flashing it with a different one, as it has a battery indicator problem, and I am not sure whether the issue is software or hardware related yet.
Need ST18A 4.0.2.A.0.42 Gingerbread 2.3.4 Stock Firmware also...
Xperia Ray ST18A Canadian (TELUS) came with ICS with too many Problems. Downgraded to 4.0.2.A.0.42 CE (Central Europe) which rebrands phone as ST18i which results in not finding Rogers/Fido 3G. Only 2G. Looked everywhere for the North American 0.42 Version of Gingerbread because it can be Rooted without unlocking Bootloader. I have not found this FTF File ANYWHERE I have searched. I have been looking for over a week. If I find this I will give it to anyone who needs. If someone has it please come here. Thanks!

If you have an unlocked bootloader, and you didnt use the test point method, lock it and then use this thread to get your stock fw

And ive just checked, your region has the official ics update so following that post will get you ics for your region.
This change in the numbers need to root, but then I do not know. I had originally GB 2.3.4, followed by updates on the ICS, but she did not like me back and I wanted GB. And using flashtool I succeeded. but I did not realize that when something happens to me with the phone, so I would not recognize the warranty if there will be another android with the numbers. So I look for my original one. I need to file with the original rom - *.ftf

So you want the orginal gb firmware for your region? Well you cant really do that because your region has the official ics update. Everytime you change the build.prop to your region you will always get the ics update in sus or pccompanion.
Yes. I need original for my region. problem is that it was probably originally intended for Poland. But I never found him. ics does not bother me because I have the original rom just for warranty. when the phone is broken, so there put the original rom and send it to the Centre.
RE:
I am phone Can I ask, you can not upload GB (mediafire example)? I would have probably returned to GB but I did not want to manage backups GB only update to ICS ... I also have the same number 1256-2469 for wt19i GB 4.0.2.A.0.62 I will be very grateful. Thank you

Official 4.1.B.0.587 for SK17i with huge bugs?

I updated my phone (SK17i) via Sony Bridge for Mac a few minutes ago to the newest FW 4.1.B.0.587. My hardware keyboard layout is QWERTZ normally. After the update I was wondering to get Spanish speech on the first sceens for setting up the phone. After changing it to German, I tested the hardware keyboard and was very annoyed by the QWERTY layout.
I flashed another time and got the same problems...
Another curious thing is, that I got a lot of vodafone crap ware on my unbranded phone...
Has anybody the same problems??? How can I get back to QWERTZ? This update sucks...

Try this, inside the rar there is a keyprint xml file, extract to your sd, with root explorer you give it permission like in the screenshot, then replace the file in System/usr/keyboard-config/ and restart your phone

Thank you for the tip. But is it in the mind of Sony that I have to root my phone in order to get it working at it is supposed to? As it is a full original firmware it is not possible to replace system files. I will have to root it in order to get the fix working.

Stock rom 4.0.2.A.0.42 for xperia mini st15A

I can find one for st15i but they are different and the "i" version will not work for me. Anyone got this? I've looked everywhere. Wotan seems to be the only place to get it. Prefer rooted, unrooted is fine too. Thanks!

Xperifirm should work because the firmware is downloaded directly from the servers. As an alternative you can follow step number 3 in the xperifirmware.com website for the z2 (Google Z2 original firmware)
Your firmware seems to be a Arabian career version. Incase you can't find the exact ftf you can always use the the generic firmware version of the country you bought it in.
I did flashing the arabic version 1280-2115 but its not the one....as a result it will not accept the sim card thats the problem... so i want that particular version
I am also looking for same ....
which version of Xperifirm were u using as i couldn't find the one u mentioned. i found 1281-2115 (MENA Arabic)and 1281-2117(Saudi Arabia)
did u resolve the issue?
