hi.. i tried to install ics on an Thinkpad x61 of my possession. everything it's amazing, but one thing: screen autorotation. is there ANY way to prevent ANY app to rotate the screen for whatever reason and fix it in landscape mode?

Just got my Samsung GS2 today. A couple of issues I've noticed. Auto brightness can not be turned off. When I uncheck the check mark, it re-checks itself.
Same thing goes with the GPS. Can't turn it off.
How are you trying to turn it off. Through settings or with widget. What version you using? Have you rooted it?

Hi, I've searching for a few months now, ever since I got to try a Pre3, but haven't found yet.
What I'm talking about is a visual response to touch. Whenever you touch the screen, you see a "mark" where you touched, and it stays there for an instant after you take the finger off. It's not for when you drag, just when you touch.
Is there any mod for android, to do this?

Wow, no answers? I never tought this would be something hard, just that no one ever thought of it...
Is there any way to have constant ripple efect ?
It's sometimes awkward to trigger the camera by pressing the screen - it moves a bit. So, I thought that since the phone has a front and a back camera, would it be possible to trigger it by blinking when it's in focus? Then I thought - there MUST be an app for this. But I haven't found one yet.
So, anyone want to give it a try?

I have a question about a (hopefully) setting in Android 10. In my bussiness we are using tablets that are running in split-screen mode. But one of the apps doesn't handle screen rotation very well.
The default screen rotation of the tablet is landscape. We have screen rotation disabled as standard. But the problem is that even if we shutdown the tablet in portrait mode, it starts in landscape mode after reboot/startup. My question is if there is a possible solution for a default screen rotation setting. If not, a workaround is also more than welcome.

Have a quick question for all the experts out there:
I've got an LG V40 running Pie that is connected to a monitor through HDMI.
I am using the monitor as a picture frame in portrait mode, and by default, when the phone is upright, it assumes the monitor's orientation is still landscape and display a small vertical image in the middle.
To force the output to fill the screen, I rooted the phone and issued the command in ADB root:
setprop persist.demo.hdmirotation portrait
setprop persist.demo.hdmirotationlock false
That works great. However I would like to freely rotate the screen without having to run ADB shell everytime.
So my question is, are there any method for Android to ignore the HDMI monitor's screen orientation and just fill the monitor on both portrait and landscape orientation when the phone is rotated?

just turn your monitor
too much effort
too little space
too awkward to do
too inconvenient
not ideal
phone work best in portrait mode
then it leaves you no choice to create a widget for toggle via script (maybe with tasker)
