Have a quick question for all the experts out there:
I've got an LG V40 running Pie that is connected to a monitor through HDMI.
I am using the monitor as a picture frame in portrait mode, and by default, when the phone is upright, it assumes the monitor's orientation is still landscape and display a small vertical image in the middle.
To force the output to fill the screen, I rooted the phone and issued the command in ADB root:
setprop persist.demo.hdmirotation portrait
setprop persist.demo.hdmirotationlock false
That works great. However I would like to freely rotate the screen without having to run ADB shell everytime.
So my question is, are there any method for Android to ignore the HDMI monitor's screen orientation and just fill the monitor on both portrait and landscape orientation when the phone is rotated?
Thanks in advance!

Whoops sorry I saw a similar question during my search and thought I was at the right place. Should had read the FAQ, sorry.
Found any way to do this?
just turn your monitor
too much effort
too little space
too awkward to do
too inconvenient
not ideal
phone work best in portrait mode
then it leaves you no choice to create a widget for toggle via script (maybe with tasker)
Code:
adb shell setprop persist.demo.hdmirotation portrait
Tasker 5.9.2 beta lets you run ADB shell commands without being tethered to a PC
The latest Tasker beta update brings a new feature that allows you to run ADB shell commands without being tethered to a PC.

that command doesn't even work for me man
it seems to worked up to Android 10

Hello everybody, (I checked and searched before posting .... )
The question is similar to others previously posted ... but never answered though!
When I compare IOS and Android (which I prefer, for a number of reasons) what really annoys me is the screen rotation reactivity (not the speed which is ok).
That is: in IOS the screen starts rotating before I finalise the orientation change (assumining 0 degree to 90 clockwise, it starts around 70) with the consequence that when the movement is completed the screen is already correctly oriented.
In Android it waits for the movement to be completed and then ... it decides it's time to move! With the obvious noticeable lag in response.
Is it possible to somehow replicate IOS behavior in this aspect? Even if it's a small detail I believe it would make the overall user experience much better (and appreciated, not only by me I guess)
Many thanks to anybody might help.
Cheers.

Moving to Q&A
hi.. i tried to install ics on an Thinkpad x61 of my possession. everything it's amazing, but one thing: screen autorotation. is there ANY way to prevent ANY app to rotate the screen for whatever reason and fix it in landscape mode?

yea if you go to settings itll have a thing to stop screen rotation
It's sometimes awkward to trigger the camera by pressing the screen - it moves a bit. So, I thought that since the phone has a front and a back camera, would it be possible to trigger it by blinking when it's in focus? Then I thought - there MUST be an app for this. But I haven't found one yet.
So, anyone want to give it a try?
Alan
Not sure, but CaneraZoom FX has voice activation.
And don't ask questions in General, that's what QA is for

Hey Everyone,
I have a question about a (hopefully) setting in Android 10. In my bussiness we are using tablets that are running in split-screen mode. But one of the apps doesn't handle screen rotation very well.
The default screen rotation of the tablet is landscape. We have screen rotation disabled as standard. But the problem is that even if we shutdown the tablet in portrait mode, it starts in landscape mode after reboot/startup. My question is if there is a possible solution for a default screen rotation setting. If not, a workaround is also more than welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have a samsung galaxy s22+ and I am facing isuess with notification.
By default, notifications are always shown on the LOCK SCREEN on Android. You need to clear them from the notification center manually to get rid of them. On iOS, notifications are cleared from the lock screen as soon as the phone is unlocked. They remain visible only in the notification center. So want all the notifications to be cleared from the LOCK SCREEN on android once the phone is unlocked. I dont want to manually clear them everytime to remove them from lockscreen.
Is there any workround for this?
