Ok so I remember when I first got my 3d I loved the fact that the screen was basically smudge proof. The glass felt like ice and didn't really show fingerprints. Since then, my screen is often a smudgy mess and even wiping it on my shirt or whatever doesn't help much. Does anyone know of a way to like revitalize the slickness that it used to have? I remember something about people using rain-x to do this I think but I don't really remember any details... Any advice would be awesome.

Well the windex will clean it obviously, but I can't imagine it'd leave it with a coating of any sort that repels fingerprints.

I dunno about coating the glass . Might cause some funky issues till u cleaned the coat off never put anything on mine. I use a zagg keeps the prints smudge down looks fantastic no issues.

I clean mine with one of those little alcohol wipes now and then. Smudge free and looks good for a while. I think all the oils etc off your fingers build up a layer on there after a while.

Alcohol does leave a nice feeling behind clean and sterile should keep prints off to for awhile...
I just put a zagg on mine awhile back cause I am always outside doing something work wise... Didn't wanna mess the glass up finger prints drove me bonkers..

Comment of the day lol
I am a greasy bastard myself and have the same problem. The smudge problem has caused me to be an avid hand washer due to this. Like others have said though. The Zagg screen protector does a fantastic job of keeping smudge stains down
I use oakley lens cleaner works wonders
its hard living in a blood red world
I use one of those micro-fiber cloths (with no cleaning fluid) on mine. Works like a charm.
I change oil for a living so this problem is an everyday thing for me, if you don't have any type of screen protector on it... There r a ton of lil tricks, the results are widely spread out,
I've heard of using "powder foundation" (make-up) to lightly "dust" it and wipe it clean and it should help out( sorta worked for me, but was a lot of work for a lil bit of a fix....
The alcohol wipes seem to work the best for me tho...

Hey guys, im stressed out! I accidentally dropped my O1 on a hard ground on a road. Thank god the screen isnt crack only my left rubbery panel have a little invisible scratched a bit.
Im pretty upset. Do anyone have the same experience? Share your experience here so i dont feel alone and upset!

Relax, man. I've dropped it 5-6 times from 1-1,5m on a hard ground. I have few almost invisible scratches on the rubbery pannel. I think the side metal band is not only decorative, but provides some stress protection. The rubbery material diminishes the visibility of the scratches. Overall, it's a very sturdy phone, better built than 2X IMO.

You are not alone there and also you are lucky like me. Few days ago my HTC wildfire is also accentually doped out on the hard floor. Due to this some spots appear on the screen. I also share this incidence on forum. But no one know how to remove spots from LCD.
You are surprised to know that spots are automatically removed from LCD.

There are also many LCD screen cleaners for TV's and such. They work great for the phone. Just don't spray it into the speaker and you are good. I then wipe it with a microfiber. Works great!

I have this solution that came with my glasses plus a wiping cloth. Any type of fluid for wiping down any particular screen (glass) would work wonders.
Like the above said, watch out to not to get the solution inside any holes and focus on the glass.
i just use a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol.. Not sure how good it is for the GG but hey it works well..
I use eye glasses cleaner works great the also have disposable ones kinda like wet wipes

Zagg has the absolute First feel of any screen protector!!! If that was the only one available, i wouldn't use one. With that said though, Zagg is freaking impossible to scratch. Guess it's a trade-off, but not for me. I am using a Otterbox that came with one of my cases and the feel is great, just like touching the screen. But... it is finally showing signs of light scratching on it after a month of use. I may try the phantom skinz myself

Just gonna have to break down an tell her bro. I know is tough because you don't want to hurt her feelings. So try to come up with a clever excuse. Or just tell her there is this new company that everyone is using and loves and that you don't want to feel left out, lol.
Oh, and surprise her with some flowers right before telling her about it
Or.... if she doesn't really know anything about it, then just swap them out in the bathroom after showering one night an she'll never know. 6 months from now you can tell her how great it is and thank her again for buying it for you. Lol
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
I'm not sure what it is, or if it's like a protectant layer that's wearing off.
But it's only in the lower half of the screen towards the middle.
It covers almost the whole bottom half, it looks like something splattered on it. But I can get it off with anything, I tried water, eyeglass cleaner, and Window cleaner.
It's really annoying I can feel the difference when I try to slide my finger across.
It's all fine when I clean it, it looks perfectly fine. But when I slide my thumb across is shows up.

It is actually the oil repellent(or something like that) coating, unfortunately, it is irreversible unless you get it painted again I guess, or replace the screen. your best bet is put on a screen protector.
This happened to BOTH of my previous android phones, Acer Liquid (happened really quickly because the screen is not very sensitive), Atrix (device too fast, so I browse the web on it too much so it has worn off too)
Moved on to HTC Amaze, I guess it is just the same, I better put a screen protector on first...
One question though, did you ever use screen protector? Both of my previous devices did, I wonder if they take a thin layer off when you peel them off....
Well I bought my phone used so I'm not sure.
The alcohol didn't work, so I'm pretty sure it's the coating...
Time to get a screen protector.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA
Well I can't really tell...
It almost acts like it's coming off, I can't really feel it anymore and I can only see it when I purposefully get my screen dirty. But it looks like something was smeared on it and half of it came off and it's in a hole bunch of little dots and globs.
Is this what yours looked like morris?

I don't like it because, in my opinion, a person might as well just use a can of spray paint and paint it. One half assed job deserves another.
Again, just how I feel. And that doesn't matter as long as others like it.

Person asked why people didn't like it, so I answered. And like I said, it's just my opinion, don't get bent out of shape about it.
But yes, taking sandpaper to a $600 phone is my definition of half assed.
I applaud your effort, though I personally dislike the look of polished aluminum. I think it is cool what you have done. If I had the skills, I would probably strip the case, brush it and then clear it with matte clear to keep fingerprints down.
This looks cool man! I would do it too if I wasn't putting a dark wood grain skin on my phone.

I have to back up the OP on this. Sanding anything to a clean and even polish, as has been done here, takes a good amount of care and consideration. Silver rattle-can spray paint will always look like silver spray paint regardless of how careful you are. Whether you like the results or not, this is not a half assed job.
