How can I unlock my galaxy s2 that is locked on AT&T network?

Are you sure you are talking about the i9100 instead of the i777?

This is SGS2 i9100 forum you dont have that phone .
Go to the big yellow tab at the top of the page and look for the forum for your phone .

hi guys,
i have recently bought a used galaxy s2 korean model sim based, which is unlocked from the carrier( not factory unlocked), i have 2 issues
1. can i upgrade my phone to the latest firmware using kies, as i have do not know the unlock codes.
2.can i root the phone (my model no. shw m250s), i have searched the internet but could not get for this model all are for the i9100 type phones

The Tmobile's S2 custom ROMs sucks and wondering if I can flash one of these ROMs if possible.

We need your phone type (i9ooo, etc.) to be able to answer this question.

He's talking about the T-Mobile USA T989 as far as I can tell.
You have your own forum for that device because it has nothing in common with the Galaxy S II (despite the name, it isn't really a GS2...)
If you flash anything from the I9100 or I777 forums on a T989, YOU WILL HARDBRICK.
The only device outside of the I9100 forums that can run I9100 firmwares is the AT&T variant (SGH-I777). (Even that requires some work.)

If you see network addons on or splash screen at boot its branded .
