system tuner...

Yes sys tuner pro works pretty great. U can also set a different min/ max for each. That said if you are on the newer ota freeza has a kernal that keeps both cores active as well and then u can use system tuner to manage the min/max for both however it isn't overclockable.
I should mention that both cores actually get activated on demand by default and apps like Daemon Control, which is a nice front end for the overclocking daemon virtuous oc will actually overclock both cores as well, however CPU1 will only be active when needed. hope that makes sense.

frrst of all ever developer i have came across talks about using set cpu and it has specific version for xda community for free )try and top that )
2nd it has much more options then just over/under clocking and over/under volting.
3rd i havent found any problems with it yet so dont look for any other alternatives yet so hope this helps u with decision making.

SetCpu pwns.
-Yo momma's so stupid she finds iOS complicated.-
I like setCPU but when I slide the max cpu to 1000 and I reopen setcpu it jumps to 1300... I tried CPU tuner today and it has scaling and gives you a ton of option settings. I going to try it out for a while.
Im using no-frills

I have tried both of those, but I have had better results and prefer the interface and options of System Tuner

Set CPU

When i use set cpu and set the highest clock at 1 ghz it still goes past it to 1.2 ghz. Im useing siyah. Any help will be appreciated.

I doubt your kernel has anything to do with it because Siyah's kernel does support both OC and UC. Do you have any profiles that have a maximum of 1200Mhz instead of 1000Mhz? Those could be kicking in even when you don't want them to if you aren't careful.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA
Nope I'm not using any profiles. Although in CWM in kernel specific options I did select performance mode if that has any thing to do with it
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Try deselecting that option or selecting a different one. I don't have a ton of experience with Siyah, but a performance mode sounds to me like it will default to the maximum CPU speed. Which on the SGH-I777 is 1200Mhz, stock.

Performance is a Governor for the CPU that sets it to Max frequency . That's what its FOR. So its doing what its supposed to. As previously stated you have to switch to a different governor in order to underclock.

I'm not talking about the governor in CWM there is a option for default, battery and performance
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
No, he doesn't mean anything to do with CWM. When you're selecting or switching to a governor, a list comes up and depending on the governor, your CPU will behave a certain way. If the maximum is set at 1200Mhz and is going to that speed when you have performance governor on, that's what is supposed to happen.

Uninstall any other clocking apps and clear application data (manage applications) for SetCPU.

Change your governer to something other than lulzactive.
lulzactive forces your CPU at a certain rate. Thus, the "active". and the "lulz" on my end.

Undervolting applications?

About to flash Sebastian's 1.4. I was just wondering what applications people are fond of for undervolting and over clocking.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Under the voltage tab.. afaik voltage tabs only appear on the these overclocking tabs only if your kernel supports undervolting...stock kernels dont support it..

Or you could use System Tuner
SetCPU is the general go-to app for its straightforward appearance. The voltage tab sometimes does not appear even for a custom kernel with voltage tables; compatibility issues the app maker needs to correct.
Try System Tuner for an interface with a lot of other useful options and info with graphics.
Incredicontrol offers an interface similar in layout to SetCPU, and can toggle the Force Fast/AC Charge option for kernels with that have it. However, its voltage tables have had gray text on a white background for some users lately, making it a minor nuisance to read. Got the problem on my setup.

Just downloaded System Tuner, and the interface is amazing! So many available options!
Just wondering, what settings is everyone running for undervolting. I never had a phone which i can undervolt in so this is all new to me.

Personally do -75mV across the board typically, pushing -82.5mV testing. -50mV should be reasonable for less accomadating cores.
All depends on your own CPU quality. Don't set tables on boot or by script unless they prove stable first. Or, just redo again each boot manually to be safest.

I've tried SetCPU Pro, System Tuner Pro, CPU Master, ROM Toolbox, and Voltage Control with both Funky kernel and dsb's kernel. None of the programs give me any voltage settings. So am I missing something?

Funky kernel doesn't have adjustable voltage settings. It has a fixed -50mV undervolt. Not sure on dsb's kernel.
So for Global Sense 3.6 ROMs, what kernels will work for UV?
Shrike, good to see ya from the Charge forum. It is exciting to own a device with lots of development.

I'm pretty sure dsb's works, but I haven't run Sense in a month, so I couldn't tell you what apps work with it. Try IncrediContol if you haven't already.
Also, good to see you here too. I'm still trying to help them out in the Charge forum when I can, but it's getting quieter and quieter over there.

Gpu overclocks itself on-demand, I didn't implement anything for user control, instead it is better to be this way

On this device even 1.5 is borderline. Anything over THAT u got problems.
1.48 is the most stable safest and still really damm fast.
Be mindful of governor settings. Research your kernel before taking on OC mods.

You most likely have a performance option that came with the Custom Rom or are running an app that has System App access , which will over ride a User App. Double check all apps and settings to see if you have any other programs that have system user rights to your CPU, that is most likely what is over taking your desired settings.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm on the Android Revolution HD 8.0 ROM now, that is probably the reason for this. Can I do something with this?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
Open up the app your using to undervolt, these should be an option to restore default values. Once back on default go ahead and open the programs' App info and disable or freeze it. Reboot and run your CPU spy app and see what is taking charge of your voltage. Also possible your voltages are not sticking which has to do with the ROM. Id suggest running profiles for CPU rather then undervolt. I. E. 534 mhz - 1434 mhz when screen on, 348-1012 when screen off. SetCPU is what i use. You have less of a chance of frying the motherboard and doing irreversible damage to your phone internally
Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
Undervolt has to do with lowering the power that goes to the battery. when desired mhz occurs, where as underclocking has to do with specifically CPU processors and with a specified setting (screen off, music app on) occurring. Just to clear up my previous post. Undervolting the battery use to do wonders on phones a few years back because of all around poor battery life on most devices. But nowadays it is pretty pointless.

The only app that seems to work properly with Sense stock kernel is Tegra Overclock.
