hi,
I've got a android phone and a transformer prime.
three problems :
- I can't find an app to make regular call with tablet using the phone by bluetooth
- How can I control the tablet by wifi using the phone
- is there an easy way to sync data between phone and tablet by wifi like :
* music
* photos
* savegames
* apps config
Thanks a lot !!!
- I can't find an app to make regular call with tablet using the phone by bluetooth
Not sure what you mean here :/ what would be the advantage of that? For video calls, Skype is quite alright.
- How can I control the tablet by wifi using the phone
-->Droid mote server/client does a very good job for me
- is there an easy way to s5ync data between phone and tablet by wifi like :

* photos
* savegames
* apps config
-->I use dropbox for that. It has pretty good apps for all systems (also PC of course) and just does its job. Savegames and apps data could created by titanium backup. And uploaded to a cloud server. I don't know of any app that does that for you. Savegames should work fine but I'd be careful with regular apps.
Edit : you need root for those apps.
thanks Clouds5,
I already use dropbox between my phone, tablet an computer to share apk, docs etc. but it's not very usefull for manage data like savegames...
For photos and videos I use google+ but for music It's very complicated :
I haven't got enough space on dropbox to put all my mp3.
When I download (buy) MP3 on my phone or tablet, I would like to launch an application that check on the tablet and the phone the diffrences between MP3 and exchange the missing files.
Bump!
Seriously want to find a way to sync game data between devices. I have yet to root I am waiting for my return policy to expire

Get a low power server and install owncloud, then use foldersync lite to sync savegames, music, etc Or wait for a better version of the Owncloud app.
I just bought dropsync. Its dropbox automated sync for the tablet. Best six bucks I've spent on this thing for a productivity app!

This has been asked previously about root apps. However, now that the Photon is a bit more mature I am curious as to the following:
What are the most useful apps (root or non) running on your Photon?
*When replying please give a description as to what the benefits are and what makes it so useful to you.
Mine....
1) Titanium Backup (paid version, root required) - For the backups and quick uninstalls.
2) Root Explorer (paid, root) - Still best file manager I've used.
3) Juice Defender (using the free one) - Only been running it for a week but seems to really help my battery life when off of WiFi. Thinking about going to the Ultimate version.
4) XDA app (using the free version) - Lets me keep up when mobile.
5) Simple Sound Profile Widget (free) - Since setting times up for the sound modes isn't my thing, this allows me to apply custom sound settings when I want and do it easily.
6) FTP Server (free)- For quick and easy file transfers with no wires. Always works.
6) Terminal Emulator (free) - Obvious I think.
7) K-9 Mail (free) - Still best email client I have used for POP.
8) Folder Organizer (paid) - Using this with SPB Shell. Gives me ability to use custom icons, spacing, themes, and hide the titles.
I'm going to stop at eight for now. Might add more later.
So far these are the apps I make the most use of:
Script manager (free version, using it for running scripts and such)
Widget Locker (lock screen replacement, paid version)
Go Launcher EX for all my sexy effect needs.
Root Explorer (Paid version)
Titanium backup obviously
That's about it for my core apps.
Seriously? Just one person with feedback? I want to be using my phone to the fullest and there is more out there in the Market that some don't know about.
How bout this then.....What do you want your phone to do but can't find an app that will do it?
I would like an app that will reboot my phone periodically at specific day/time. Gonna try tasker and see if it will. Didn't see anything else in Market to accomplish this.
I don't think most people haven't rooted yet. I just got mine like a week ago. I'm still reading up. I will root but, there is a lot to know.

Understand....but this thread is not just root specific apps. It is for any app that makes your Photon a great device to use.
So, all Photon users feel free to participate!

Now herein lies the problem. My phone did basically everything I needed it to straight of the box. If anything, I had to remove some stuff that it did because I didn't use it (social networking).
I'm still learning the ropes tho', new to android so if you ask me the same exact question in 2 months time I may give you a completely different answer.

Hey,
Has anyone worked out any decent solution for sharing a transformer prime with other people? I.e., I want to be able to have multi user functionality, and be able to log in with my account and have access to all my data, and then allow my girlfriend to log into her account and then have access to her data.
Is there any solution in terms of apps or custom mods to accomplish this?
I believe that Titanium Backup has some facilities for that but in general, Android has yet to mature very well for it. Some apps have a bit of support for multiple accounts, mostly Google apps.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk
Yeah I see that but it's not an ideal solution - even the google apps don't work well as all notifications will come through and I have to manually change which user is logged in for every app (in some, like google+, I then have to specify every time whether to sync contacts, etc)
Titanium backup is the right idea, you could theoretically script it so you "log in" as one user and it will automatically backup every app and then restore the other user's backup. A cumbersome and slow way of doing it...
There's no home grown solution (say by creating symbolic links for every app data directory which can be swapped out)? If not, maybe it's time to give android development a go...
For that idea if you try it, you should be able to kill any running associated running processes using ps/kill, before twiddling symlinks,
E..g kill dropbox, swap links, ....
What is really needed is evolution of apps and OS lol

Idk if you're subscripted to this thread or not, but I saw this over lunch and thought of this thread. You might want to play with it: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...e-android-profiles-on-a-single-rooted-device/
Yes, try SwitchMe just new in the Market. Requires root but does exactly what you want.

Just rooted my device.
Was wondering how safe is it to delete apps that I do not use, bloatware from ASUS.
Can I (uninstall) delete these safely (using Titanium backup):
1. Amazon Kindle
2. App Backup
3. App Locker
4. File Manager
5. Glowball
6. My Cloud
7. My Library
8. My Net
9. Polaris Office
10. Net Reader
11. SuperNote
12. Webstorage
Thanks for reading
Yes its safe to delete those apps but I would make sure you have recovery and back up your full stock rom first in fact most of the custom roms have all those apps removed.

I would strongly consider keeping some of those apps.
For instance Polaris Office is a really good office suite for Android. My Cloud gives you a full copy of Splashtop Remote Desktop which is one of the easiest remote desktop apps currently available on Android. Both of these are very useful apps which might come in handy someday. Unless you are running out of space on your Prime I would leave them alone.
What is your point ?
Those apps are not 'system' apps in the real sense (they are system only because they are part of the ROM and installed in /system/app) you can remove them like you would remove any user app.
Keep the backup files in Titanium, as some of those apps can't be found easily elsewhere.
Many android users would like to have Polaris I agree. Same for My Cloud.
I do have Office Suit Pro already.... that's why I am thinking off getting rid of Polaris..

When you decide to unlock and install a custom Rom, you're really going to like wookies rom with aroma installer which let's you install without these apps.

Or if you are rooted (which I assume he is since we are having this conversation) just get titanium backup and freeze the apps you don't want. No that does not save space on the device, but deleting them to save space is a waste of time. With all of the "bloat ware" in place, my 32GB prime still has over 25 GB free even after installing all the other apps I use including Chrome and it's cache. So space is not really an issue. Freezing them will keep them from actually running which is my real goal.
Also, if you do start tinkering with system apps, the ability to freeze rather than delete is critical. I found this out while playing around with my droid 3. I figured since i was using google voice for my voice mail, I did not need the built in voicemail - only to discover that freezing it killed the dialer too. Likewise when I froze the built in music player, it caused the third party music player app I use to quit working - I have no clue why, but is sure was nice to be able to go back in and just unfreeze as needed.
You h:e a point about freezing. I noticed if you got rid of built in Gallery app... ie delete it... I am unable to apply any images as wallpapers...

Hi,
You might consider using ROM CLEANER
A great program that will clear all the [email protected] off your system in one go.
i wrote an article about how to get your TF201 as clost to pure as possible
Sorry if this is considered self promotion but it should be helpful heres the link http://www.mikeyb2001.com/2013/07/how-to-get-near-perfect-nexus.html
Helpful, but the same could have been achieved without that guide lol

I have a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 2 and I am going to buy the Nexus 7 16 tablet. I want a desktop manager, I am sick of dragging and dropping my movies and apps, ect.. also I plan to root the Nexus 7 and my phone is already rooted, so I was woundering if their was one with Titanium Backup compatibility for my backups.
I already have google play music manager for my music, but I want something also for offline usage. I have heard of Mobisynapse but I don't know if that is the right one for me.
Thanks.
