[Q] [shift] + c = backspace, on UK keyboard - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Anyone else have this on a UK keyboard/dock?
(It only seems to do this at the start of a line, but not if there is a capital letter before it...wierd.)
if so, is there a way of correcting it or other anomalies on a keyboard?
re-installng keyboard software for example?
Also, I notice that Fn + PgUp, PgDn, Home, and End do not work as a PC keyboard

I'm not getting this problem on the UK keyboard. Are you getting this problem in one app or every app? If you are getting it in every app you might have a defective keyboard.
Edit: Which firmware are you running on?

it seems to do this on gmail, other email, this forum, and text entry in general
firmware is TF201-DOCK-0206

The firmware is the information listed under Build Number actually. Mine is 9.4.2.15. Try to see if there is a new firmware update which might have fixed the problem. Also make sure that you have the Asus English (UK) keyboard selected in the input option.

Had this problem (capital C and capital B) recently when filling a form in Chrome. I'm typing this in ICS Browser+ and everything seems fine: CCCBBB.

Sorry, yes I have the .15 firmware, and the input is correct: UK keyboard, ASUS UK keyboard..
The problem seems to be mainly with chrome beta.
a capital "b" seems to give a "return" as well.
Shame, because I like chrome beta, as I use chrome on the PC alot and like it.

[Q] Japanese keyboard for Android Open Kang Project Build

I have been running AOKP on my galaxy nexus so decided id give it a try on the prime tablet. Everything runs great as expected (thanks and praise) however it seems there is no support for my Japanese keyboard.. Is there anyone in the same boat as me? Any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Rooted rom with FSKaren
I just heard back from the developer/porter for the AOKP ASUS rom. He was very kind but unfortunately said, "Japanese isn't one of the included languages by Asus and is only supported on the full Japanese version of their stock software" So for now I flashed back to the original rom so i can still type with my dock in Japanese. I searched Japanese blogs and forums as well but only found interest in getting a Japanese keyboard supported rom. If anyone is interested in doing a rom with Japanese support I would be happy to do testing. I am not a programmer but I have been flashing roms with CWM for a while and fairly confident as long as there are some directions to read..

You could always try a software keyboard like Simeji till it is supported. My Bluetooth Japanese keyboard doesn't work on stock firmware either.

That is a good idea, thanks. Ill reflash this weekend to see if the qwerty key mapping is correct. I did try Google beta Japanese input but the key mapping was incorrect and typing in the dock with qwerty mode selected did not allow me to type in Japanese, only English.
Hi guys,
I'm in the same boat as you.
I'd love to have be able to have all the extra functionality and performance of a custom rom whilst also still retaining the ability to use the dedicated keyboard key on my Japanese TF201 dock to switch between English and Japanese.
I wonder how complicated the process would be to rip the keyboard's software from a stock rom and implement it into a custom rom..
I'm not a huge fan of the stock Japanese keyboard that ASUS provides though; it's laggy as hell and nowhere near as good at word prediction as say Simeji.
Is there no way to map the functinality to the key in order to change keyboards but with a different keyboard such as Simeji??
If anyone has any links to some Japanese language pages that might offer some Japanese TF201 roms which are likely to include the keyboard components, I'm sure we'd all be greatful!
I've had little luck finding anything so far
me too
I'm running AOKP on my japanese TF201 but the keyboard layouts (onscreen and physical) are screwed. Just searching for a way to flash back the last japanese firmware running on version 4.0.3 (my AOKP milestone 6.1 runs on 4.0.4). If anyone can point me to the right direction, I would definitely appreciate the help.

I also just bought one today from radio shack for $19.97. This is the first thing i've typed since i got it.
Maybe you have a keyboard app causing issues. You it with a different input method? Swype vs. touchwiz

[Q] Swiftkey3 and hardware keyboard on Sk17i

Hi everyone I know that this topic has been discussed many times, but I'm trying to find a solution. When I install Swiftkey3 I have the problem that the keys like? and ' are typed as \ and à. And that's really annoying. Is there a solution? For example, replace the files in keychars system / usr /?
At the moment I'm using the CM10, but also happened to me before with the stock ROM. I'm Italian and the use of predictive keyboard with right special characters is fundamental. Thanks for you attention
Then I think it's a problem from swiftkey. Just report to them bro..
Sent from my WT19i using Tapatalk 2
yes i know it's a swiftkey problem but maybe someone has found a fix on XDA
There's already a lot of bug report on swiftkey blog
---Edit---
Ok this thing is absurd, I solved simply by setting the layout of the external keyboard as English (USA) instead of Italian. Now i have Italian layout! -.-'

Logitech BT Keyboard (920-004569) for Flyer [Solved Problem?]

I just got this $70 keyboard as a Christmas present and it doesn't work. Here's why. I tried to pair it, but the pair key dialog did not show up and instead popped up the invalid PIN or key dialog. I am using the HTC Flyer running on a Stock Android 3.2.1 ROM non-rooted, and it doesn't work.
EDIT: I am now running on Dexter'sJB v1.8 [Android 4.1.1 + CM10 build unofficial] Hope it works there. I will try to see if the dialog shows up, if not, I'll try to press 0000, then Enter. If that doesn't work, was Dexter bad at implementing bluetooth? Well because his ROM supports and pairs a lot of bluetooth devices including game controllers. So hope this keyboard works.
I had no problems. Same keyboard. I just hit 0000 and enter on keyboard and it connects

I have the same keyboard the iPad version. Works great but I can not change keyboard language without third party application. Is there any key combination for switching layouts ? Thanks!

I would say try to contact HTC support but they won't help you with anything, they will just tell you that the Flyer is incompatible with the keyboard.
I have a Motorola BT Keyboard and the only way to get it to pair and work was by setting the keyboard in the "computer connect" mode. By pressing some keys on it, the Flyer was able to pair with it, and connect. If your keyboard has something like this in its settings, try it.

I have the same keyboard, also, and it had no problem pairing with my Flyer.
Flashed DextersJB
Never mind, I gave it away to my friend. But that was 2 months ago. Now I flashed dexter's jellybean rom v1.8 for the flyer. Hope the keyboard works. Also, thanks for the 0000 advice.
I miss my keyboard...
By the way, I would like to retrieve it back from my friend if it's possible. If not, I am planning to buy the iHome keyboard. Does it work for CM10 4.1.1 for HTC Flyer? But the most important thing is... I miss my keyboard so much!
Re: Logitech Bluetooth Tablet Keyboard (920-004569) on HTC Flyer
At least in my case, the Motorola Keyboard and Mouse work flawlessly in the Flyer on 4.1.1.

Since it's a windows keyboard...
As the title says, I am using External Keyboard Helper to assign some unrecognized buttons since it's a windows keyboard. Just look at the attachment below.

Well, did you enable your layout that suits your locale? If you did, try to switch language by pressing CTRL+SPACE on the keyboard. I don't know about it. If it's impossible for you, well there's no choice but to get a third party app.
Reply to the Language Switch.
