For those of you that do not know what this app is, it's a free virtual Windows PC with a full suite of Microsoft Office. If you pay $5/month you can also get Internet Explorer with Flash and speedtests have shown me almost 100 mbps downstream and around 50 mbps upstream if you want to use it to watch streaming videos or do large file transfers.
I've been using this app for a few weeks on my iPad for Flash videos (because it wasn't available for Android) but now it is in the Market but says it's not compatible with my NC. I use their OnLive Games on my NC supposedly it's the same technology so in theory it should work just fine on the NC.
Can somebody kindly post the apk for those of us that want to take it for a spin our our NCs?
Thanks in advance.
I don't have the apk, but what is your experience with the OnLive Games app? I tried it and it was terrible. The game play stuttered the whole time. It is fine on my computer. I'm using CM 7.2 and have a wireless g router. Maybe its the router?
I've only played LEGO: Batman for about 30 minutes (the free window) a few times using the on-screen controls and it played fine for me. I was waiting to get their universal wireless controller before I got really into it and started to purchase games on it.
I'm running the last stable CM 7.1.0 release with the stock kernel. It's not a particularly "intense" game so I don't know how it would perform with something like Call of Duty or the like.
Is there any benefit to using OnLive Desktop instead of Remote Desktop back to your own machine? I'm basically running LTE on a 10.1 Tab and have full speed FiOS at home.
The benefit is subjective to each user. I find it useful for the crazy fast internet browsing and video streaming on their client. I also found value in it so that I could use Flash on my iPad using this. I also have a work pc that I remote into but it's for limited use (like doing work) so I like having a Windows Virtual Machine that isn't related to work and I also don't have to leave my home pc turned on all the time either.
Also, it supports file access to Dropbox (via their website) too.

Link to the apk is here. Installing shortly =)
I've noticed that the touch screen coordinates are a bit off (like the height of the soft buttons bar) if you hide the soft button/notification bar but works fine when you leave it up. Other than that, I've noticed the Flash videos played in this app do not look as good on my NC as it does on my iPad using this app. I suspect it's because of the video acceleration that is lacking in the ROM I am running at the moment.
Other than that, if you're just trying to have access to a Windows Virtual PC with MS Office and Internet Explorer then this is just fine on the NC.
it installed and started up fine for me...i need to try it out thoroughly when i have a decent internet connection

That's strange. Are you running the last stable official CM 7.1.0 or a Kang version? Also, did you modify your build.prop file, change screen desity or using a custom kernel?
I'm running the official CM 7.1.0 off of the CyanogenMod.com website without any tweaks or custom kernels and it installed without any issue for me.

That could be it. My screen density is set to 200. I'll set it back to 160 and see if that works.
Thanks!

Yep. That did it. On LCD density of 160 works great! Thanks!
Installed the member provided Apk from this thread. My Nook Color is running [CM7.2-RC1] MiRaGe - KANG build of CyanogenMod.
Runs great.

Simple trick to bypass 7 inch protection and use this cool app on any device...
If you dont have app download latest version with black market alpha
http://www.mediafire.com/?hgdljhid6kvomke
Just download from google play lcd resolution - ///must have root and busybox///
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wemobs.android.lcdresolution&hl=sr
Set density around 100 – 160 and Onlive Desktop will probably work... - Tryed on Galaxy Note and density 160... (lowest possible...) and it worked
Only bad thing it wont probably be full screen, so fell free to try different resolutions, and maybe you set full screen
Hope i helped! If you have any question or better idea fill free to say

What LCD density setting are you using? Mainly to mimic a 10" screen on the NC CM7.1
My lcd density is at 160....should I try higher or lower?

I was looking for a way to stream my media on the go. I tried VLC, but that was too buggy, orb was too slow and then I came across TVersity which works great.
You can access it with the webinterface when you are on the road. It works very good on the A101, but it is lacking some features. So I wondered if there is an apk available with some more features. If there isn't I think I am going to write one or adjust the webinterface.

I had some time this weekend and am almost done with writing my own app and webinterface for android to access the Tversity webserver.
If there is interest in this, I will develop it further, so that it is end user ready. If not I just fit it to my needs and I am done with it.
The program is a small apk that needs to be installed on the archos and some webfiles that needs to be copied to the server where Tversity is installed.
Maurice
I'm definitely interested!
me too on archos 10.1 and 7.0
love to get this app too
Nice work divx118!
Shame TVersity don't have a linux alternative. I do believe there is one in the works though, so I'll be keeping an eye on your project... if you undertake it that is.

Unfortunately there is indeed no linux or mac version available. For now it is windows only.
If I find some time next weekend I will see if I get a beta version ready no promisses though. For serving videos I have it almost ready. There are however some issues with streaming audio when you are not on the local network. With some files the music player on my 101 will crash. I think it is the long url that is the problem I had no time to investigate if this is indeed true. I myself will not use music streaming, but I see if it is possible to solve this.
For video files I have thumbnail support, with a work a round. It needs the thumbnail with the same name as your videofile in a folder where also my webcontrol will be.
If you however have XBMC installed it is just a few minutes work todo this. I am also looking if I can get it to work for the parent folders, now it is only working for the video files itself.
Maurice
very interested, i already use tversity for 360 streaming.
I'm interested also!
I'm interested as well...
I am still working on it. My free time is however limited. That is why it is taken so long. Atleast this weekend I have some time available.
A little update on what still needs to be done and what is ready before a first release:
1) creating the APK to install on your archos. This is ready and is working for videofiles streaming. TODO for the APK is cleaning up the code and put in some error catching. Also I still have to decide if I use a new intent to play audio files or integrate the mediaplayer in the apk. For videos I use a new intent, this means it will start the default videoplayer for playing your videofiles. For audio this didn't work so well in my testing.
For handling the pictures I decided to do that entirely in the webcontrol, which is much easier.
2) The webcontrol is also almost ready. TODO is integration of pictures viewing like a slideshow etc.
The features are pretty simple. You can add two urls in the apk one for if your are on your local network and on for when you are on the road. Further you can adjust the number of items that will be displayed in one view. I tested with 100 items and it was very fast.
You can choose between thumbnail view and listview for pictures and a seperate item view setting when in thumbnail view.
If you have anymore features that should be added you can just post a reply with your suggestions.
Maurice
thanks for this.
the default video player isn't cutting it for me.
Can't wait to test this out when it's released
ditto, can't wait to test it out!
Hi,
Try Qloud Video, it is same as 'AirVideo' on iPhone,
search it in market and you will surprise.
Leo
Any chance we can get a look at your current app? I am dying to get my hands on it. If not such is the way of life.
Interested, this would be awesome to have.
Just a little update:
Playing audio in the apk is ready. Audioplayer is pretty simple start, pause, next song, previous song and shuffle the playlist. You can also click on a song in the playlist. Only playing mp3 gives sometimes a scrambled output. It seems to be an archos issue.
You can use a horizontal swipe to switch between audioplayer and the webview.
I also want the same implementation for images, because displaying them in the webview is a bit slow. That is what I am working on right now.
Another feature I added is when rotating the archos the GUI rotates too.
However it still needs some work before a first release, it is the first time I code in java and on android. So I need todo some research to see how things are done. Also I don't want to release a version that only half works and then putting my time in answering questions "when do we get an update?", "Why doesn't the app work?" and so on.
Please be patient
The release will be in the near future, I guess I need a few more free weekends, maybe less to finish it.
Thanks to all for your interest.

it is worth to try, bause i am working with a lot of IPcam stuff for hospitals on child stations. Will report back here.
I was looking for something like this a while back, will give it a try as it should save taking a web-cam away on business.
Will try out and let you know. First thing, would prefer cab install option if possible I know there are client drivers needed for windows side too I guess).
Noticed that the video overlay for the camera does not go when the program is closed. So far I've not been able to connect, but this is probably due to my network config at the moment (so will retry later).
I remember using this looong ago when I had my HTC Mogul... those were the days

I think you connect via the webcam driver settings. i.e. VLC
Media -> Open Capture Device
Select Video device name - it should be in the list
Configure - Will open if the device is present and you should be able to press connect. You might see it pop up a message on your device when you do (too quick to read - i guess connecting etc).
Hopefully you'll get the images coming through (I get coloured striped display but that is probably due to the network I'm currently on has proxies etc).
I tried to use it on my HTC HD2 running Artemis 58 with radio 2.15......
I cannot seem to connect it to my computer via WiFi. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for the help.

so it is now pay ware so far we can see. For this there is a special forum thread. Possible the admin can move it to there...
But there is the other solution from rc colonel - RC Camera (Link). I working with that a very long time.

I use it a very long time now for parents who's childs are in a hospital. We have installed some axis ptz cams (4x) in a hospital near my home city (~ 20 KM). We advise this to the parents for the mobile device or via a website on the PC. I have informed rccolonel some time ago to have a special version, but i think he is no longer online or busy with android. So i hope he will read this .
BTW:
in my free time i am working in a special community for this kind of stuff (paper, color pens, toys, hospital clowns, and...and...and...).
BTW 2:

rc-camera differs to this app since it's for using an ip-camera and the phone as a monitor, where this one attempts to use the phone's camera as the web-cam. I like the idea, but so far it doesn't work the way I've tried it (clearly it's not trivial thing to code).
BTW:
Well (to be slightly off topic here) I'll let you know if I get on with an Android app I have planned which will be suitable for children reading, might end up being of use. Can't get a better cause than that to be involved with!
cant seem to get it working
i installed the cab and that automatically installed it on my phone (omnia i900) when i open the app on my phone it displays the camera, but when i tap the "start" button it kinda freezes, the little rotating icon ippear and its like "thinking" but it never really conects, right now am using "mobiola web camera" and it does work but i dont like the output quality of it, the resolution and quality es too low, so i tought id try this put, but nope, nothing.

I'm using the MarketAccess app with latest market version and it works flawless. I did not liked the original icon and also the fact that the icon title was not spanning properly on the screen. So I edited the original .apk and replaced the icon as well the title.

Is there any basic guide on how to best use this?
MarketAccess is a branch of MarketEnabler. Personally, I use its very basic function.
With the Market closed, I go to:
Market Access > Providers > T-Mobile
Then, I open the Market and install any US restricted apps. Once I'm done with it, I reboot the phone and the default settings are automatically restored. As I said, pretty simple and basic.
From what I understood, you did not create this, (correct me if I'm wrong ) therefore it doesnt belong in the development section

What kind of useful apps are US only?
My favorite are:
Amazon Mobile
Google Books
Google Music
Google TV Remote
Netflix
Not sure if Books are now open to everyone, they just added Google Videos to Canada.
Personally, I live 45min from the US border and I have an US address/credit card. We have Netflix in Canada but the selection really sucks, compared to US.
I use a E4200 DD-WRT router as PPTP server with US IP's to all my devices (Google TV, mobile, tablet, etc.) when I'm at home. For example, you need an US IP to upload your music to Google Music site but you can use any IP to download/broadcast Music/Video's to any of your mobile devices. I know is not easy, but is worth the trouble. It really sucks that we have all those restrictions.
At least I can get all my music anywhere, without taking any space on my mobile.

Credit is clearly given into OP, I certainly hope is not going to ruin your day.
I saw many mods posted here (if you can call my change a mod... took me 2min to modify the APK), so I think is the best place for it, since is not related to Original Android development.
MOD = modification of an existing application created by someone else
There are tons of MOD threads listed in this forum, from what I saw.
Still, if I'm wrong, please let me know what would the the appropriate forum so I post there next time.
Cheers
Mate it seems to be working partially with the new market 3.1.5
You can see the currency changed to USD but you can't see the regional apps.
Could someone confirm this ?
Thanks.
It's true. I found a trick for this maybe it's too much of a headache but if you want to use new market then what you have to do is
1. Install market access.
2. Go emulate say for example t mobile.
3. Go to settings/applications/manage/ and then uninstall the updates for market. .
4. So now you have the old market. Now open the market.
5. Then wait for some time. Since it is connected to t-mobile it will update to new market.
6. Now you can download all the apps you want with new market.
The thing is it only works till restart. Then you have to repeat all the steps again.
Big hassle I know but if you absolutely have to use the new market then this is one way. Cheers.
P. S. Simply use old market with market access and freeze market updater using titanium backup to avoid all the hassle and use US APPS.

I'll test it on my phone with Market 3.1.5 and let you know guys. So far all apps worked for me, I'm in Canada.
Edit: I think I know why is probably not working for some of you.
You need an US IP address as Wi-Fi spot. My DD-WRT router is set as PPTP server and broadcasts an US IP through wireless as well wired connections. So when my phone connects to the market, it does it through an US IP. Using the VPN directly into phone will not cut it.

Is there a new version for the latest Google Play ?
Hi guys,
as I'm reading since a couple of weeks that many of you woul'd like to have Android and Windows running on their Yoga Books I'd like to share how I was able to do so.
Basically I've just purchased the Yoga Book to try this way in order to evaluate whether I still need my Windows Laptop or not. Answer: I do not need it anymore
At "Paperspace" it's possible to create a virtual windows desktop PC which you can access via chrome browser.
There you have the option to create either an already licensed Windows Server which will be used in desktop mode or you can bring your own Windows 10 pro license to use a regular desktop version (which I did).

After this decision you can either rent this virtual Windows machine on a monthly or hourly rate. I chose the hourly rate as I just use my Windows account for programs like tax or "just" windows based tools. But most of the time I can live with Android for surfing, entertainment and similar.
As soon as you finished those steps you can just run your machine from any device on your Chrome browser (works with smartphone and tablet and of course on other Windows machines).
You can see a almost transparent circle in the upper right area where you have a menu to swith to fullscreen and to other advanced settings (e.g. gaming mode,...).
The difference from paperspace to other services like AWS from Amazon or similar is the fact that you won't start a remote desktop session but a video feed. Therefore you can achive way better frame rates and can also play games and watch Netflx for example (for me pretty good as I'm living in Germany and with this alternative I do not need a VPN anymore in order to get the US content).
I've also installed my Office 365 on the Virtual Machine and it works perfect. So as you can see you'll have a fully functional Windows running on a Android device in your browser.
There is only one negative fact which I do not want to hide. As Windows is running as a video feed the touch support is not possible (yet). To bypass this issue I've ordered a bluetooth mouse which will then enables the mouse cursor in windows and makes it fully usable. It's not a big issue (at least for me) as I'll just use windows for special programms or tools where I anyway want to control it via mouse instead of touching on the display.
Here the mouse I'm using which I've purchased at Amazon for 25€: Microsoft Designer Mouse
If you have something what I should test for you or if you've any questions just ask.
As I was searching several month/years for such a solution I thought its worth sharing with you.
Note: It does not work with iPads (tried it with my mini before I bought the Yoga Book) due to the fact that iOS does not support mouse cursors "unjailbreaked".
I gave this a try today, and I am not thrilled.
I first tried it on my Chromebook and it worked well.
Although the load time is kind of long.
When I got home from work I tried logging in from my Yoga book (android) and It was not a good experience.
full screen did not work well for me as it kept cutting off the bottom of the screen.
The touch pad does work well, and when I tried a bluetooth mouse it worked better, but no right click.
I think it would work better if there was an android app instead of using chrome.
Also the mouse/ touchpad options on the Yoga book android sucks. the Stock mouse handeling is way better, and I would love to get that fixed.
Right click must depend on the mouse cause at mine it's working.
Loading time for booting takes ~30sec and also at my yoga book there isn't something cut off in Fullscreen mode.

Anyway you need GApps for android 7.1.X. Download correspondent one.
I tried just about everything mentioned above... I finally tried to simply delete the Google TTS app (approx 20mb) and reattempt.
The gapps flashed 100%, no error. The size of the file was a bit smaller, so I'm guessing the 20mb was a real squeeker.
Super annoying as I just wanted to try and get Google Play (store) on the Raspberry Pi 4. I tried a few other OS's, this is the closest I've come, and the only that has worked as I want to emulate Android and Install .APK files.. All other OS's failed.
The Raspberry Pi 4 is neat so if anyone was thinking the same here you go, I have yet to install exactly what I want.. but I can say that after deleting the "googletts-arm.tar.lz" from the open_gapps-arm-9.0-pico-20210604 .zip manually. I remember doing this on phones once and it worked.. so I figured give it a shot. I flashed the gapps, factory reset, and when I did my reboot I was met with the Google "Welcome" screen and knew everything was installed... and tested yes it works!
Credit to the guy who did this article, but just follow the above instructions or picture as illustrated. I have a 64GB card running Lineage-16.0 but it says it's only about 3-4GB and only 2GB Free, which is weird but I don't know this OS very well.
I recently purchased the Raspberry Pi 4 8GB in hopes it could be a source to stream and watch my security cams, browse the web, literally simple stuff I do on a laptop that gets hot and eats up power. This little device is still new and innovative and having kinks worked out, yes it can run Windows 10 but that version of Windows 10 is not a true 64-Bit and does not allow me to load the programs I normally do such as Bluestacks for emulating Android which is super easy and covers most of the nonsense apps I run in the background... as well as a few others that no longer run on Windows 7, or only run on Windows 10.. Hopefully Raspberry pi4 gets fixed up but until it has 100% fixed Windows 10 I think Lineage + Google Play will have to suite!
It's actually working very well, a little slower than I expected but considering that this device is so tiny I am impressed as it's a lot cooler and saving power vs my old clunky laptop that sits and provides the same applications around the same speed.

I can confirm this worked and has been successful for the most part, maybe not the fastest OS for the Raspberry PI 4 (specifically on a 22" display vs a touch screen/tablet) as this OS would be a lot nicer on a touch screen, not very friendly for the keyboard/mouse.. but still works well.
Slimming down that 120mg gapps.zip did the trick, just delete the Google Text to Speech app (20mb) manually by opening the .zip with WinRar and under /GApps you'll see only 4 files, the "googletts-arm.tar.lz" was the one I right clicked, selected Delete.. it slimmed the .zip file saving 20mb, and that was really the turning point... I guess the OS was running slim come available HD space. Which is odd because after installing Google Play Store, I have downloaded numerous applications & games, I've even tested Clash of Clans.. which is not very fun with a mouse/keyboard and is a tad slow.. but it WORKS!
I just wanted a machine I could donate from one of my accounts as well as watch my IP Cams around the house via Wyze's Google Play Store App. I've had some issues with my older IP Cameras but mostly can always view them in VLC player and I tested and it indeed worked.
Hope this helps, spent an hour banging my head trying to remember how I used to make the gapps.zip's flash on my older cell phones w/ Cynanogenmod.... And to give credit this was the tutorial I used... Maybe there is something newer out there I am not sure... I will be looking into Cyanogenmod later for hopefully better performance.

Great tutorial but I wish it had addressed the possible storage device lack of available space.. aka Error 70 come flashing in the Recovery Mode.
Hope this helps, any questions or concerns feel free to ask!
