i know but there was a mod to keep the 3.0-3.5 lockscreen but give you back a sense 2.1 answer screen. i believe it was for the tbolt, i just wonder if it would work on this device?

Nah, different resolution.
We would actually need sense 2.1 or a similar device to of had it to implement it
I'm sure its possible but its not a demand with the rezound because we don't have the 3.5 answer bug the thunderbolt had

Its because of the fact that we can't easily modify sense 3.5 and 3.6 because the tools we use to make these mods like the lockrings and stuff don't work on our version of sense yet.

maybe/maybe not...the mods for choosing lockscreen are in com.htc.framework.jar (at least in gb) and its as simple as changing "2.1" to "3.0 " in 2 or 3 places in one smali file or vice versa for older sense....that may or may not work on sense 3.5/3.6 (i dont have a rezound to try)
as long as the resources are in place (ie pngs still in com.htc.resources.apk and methods in the smali) it would possibly work...but again no way for me to know
Yeah, the lock ring can be a bit of a pain to answer at times. Half the time it doesn't seem to work quite right, and I have to move it slowly to the answer area. I'm 100% stock too, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Of course when I call myself to test, it works perfectly every time.

hey, is there an easy way to do this? there used to be an app in the market called ccname. but i cannot find it....

I use gb sense 3.0. I'm not feeling the whole ics yet. I guess I would have to get used to it. since we're only going forward. Not backwards.
I was just curious, 3.6 looks pretty much the same as 3.0. Little disappointed, I feel that 4.0.3 can't shine through the sense theme. I installed CM9 on my buddy's Sensation and it looks fantastic.
We will only see it if a developer falls from the sky and shines us with it.

Claims that they (HTC, T-Mobile, anyone) don't want to "disrupt" our user experience with 3.0 on the Amaze are BS, IMHO. Problems with Sense 3.0 do NOT need to be continued ... and the enhancements due with Sense 4.0 are, I think, owed us. I bought this phone specifically because an ICS update in 2012 had already been promised.
I want landscape home screens. I want Car Mode restored. I want a better Dock Mode.
If ICS arrives with same ol' Sense overlay, and the problems I've had with three handsets not fixed, I may not even update.

Yeah but it doesn't seem like we have anybody driven to port Sense 4.0. Tis a shame because it seems like it really improved on a lot of weak points that exist in all current Sense UI versions prior to 4.0.

That's even more bull****, industrial strength. The Snapdragon processor in the Amaze is certainly up to to the job. You've probably heard that the AT&T One X will have an S4, which isn't too different from the S3 in the Amaze.

S4 not different from s3??????? I'd Google that. It has very significant improvements! Even at the same core # and clock speed.

When source is released, the team should be able to work towards completion easily, hopefully the wifi drivers block on the kernel wouldn't be there any longer to hinder full access to customisation and definite custom kernels.

More great work from the excellent Devs!
Been using the intelligent's Sense 4.0 rom as my DD since it dropped. Lack of data has not really mattered since I have been home or at school, and I have WiFi at both places. However, I am planning on driving 400 miles during the weekend and I will probably try out SpeedRom. Sense 4.0 is so much better, and I cannot help but think that HTC should just have supported this on all devices instead of going through the whole process of creating Sense 3.6 just to push sales of the One series. While I do not mind Sense, I just hate the 3.6 lockscreen with the bubbles and all. Sense 4.0 lockscreen, and the whole UI, looks so much cleaner that I do not even mind the missing quick settings.
Now for the bad part: Data does not work, and since some kind of "hack" is apparently being used for GSM, the battery life sucks. Also, the camera has been giving a few problems.
But all in all, if you are a flashaholic like me, you have to try this out if only it is for a few hours. I would go right back to it once I get back from my trip if only I could get WiFi calling to work since TMobile's network is nonexistent the moment I wall into my apartment (I get 3-4 bars as soon as I walk outside!).
Just curious. I might get this phone if there are plans for that.
Additionally, does this phone have the NFC in it?

Fine, ASOP then. Having said that, is there an app(s) that I can get the Sense widgets at least? You can't deny the functionality of Sense widgets.

Having come from a HTC device, which I ran as aosp, my comments are;
Sense widgets were easily replaced from the market. Many alternatives were superior to the sense equivalent.
You cannot have sense widgets without the sense kernel and framework
If it's touchwiz you dislike, just get a launcher from the market.
As a former AOSP developer, I have to recommend that you stay with sammy plus launcher for a while. Sammy roms are feature packed and you will lose loads by going to aosp. Don't jump ship until you know what you've got and whether or not you want it.

the screen on/off animation is not possible in sense 4.0 and up (we have sense 4+)
htc significantly changed the code, and tied things into libs that cannot be properly edited through hex (according to j4n87 and m0narx...id trust what they say on it)
the only time we're likely to see it on the dna, is when/if aosp roms pop up
That's a shame. I guess we play the waiting game.
Well with the awesome devs we have I'm sure it won't be to long.

Yea, unfortunately, I haven't seen this MOD work on HTC Sense, since 2.1. Maybe 3.0, can't remember, but like Nit said, if Jan and M0n say the code isn't capable of editing, then I would agree.

it actually was ported to sense 3.5 on the rezound, but because of graphics issues didnt work properly
iirc from the few devs who tried it, it would be delayed and occasionally freeze the screen
but i used crt on sense 2.1/3.0/3.5 on my inc2 and wifes tbolt
