There are a number of reasons. Between me and my wife there is an iPhone 4, 4th Gen touch, ipad 2, kindle fire, MacBook pro and my note. I don't have loyalty or animosity for either brand and they all have their place. I can also afford apps for each ecosystem.
I prefer the 4:3 vs 16x9 tablet form factor. I have used the xoom and transformer and wasn't impressed. My 2 year old neice uses it when she's over as well. She can't figure out the xoom.
My ipad2 is very different from my touch and my wife's iphone4. They each fill different roles.

I do find it interesting that even though apple and Samsung are suing each other all around the world that apple is still using Samsung's A5 chip.

Samsung needs Apple. Apple can find someone else to make chips. Samsung can't find another iPhone.
there HAS to be a reason why Apple is sticking with samsung though. Samsung can't be the cheapest manufacturer out there..lol
I'm sure Apple has the ball but why sue a company then funnel $$ back?
it's like.. one of them is the keystone species.. hehe (biology x telecommunications)
Product seems to be copying/imitating other manufacture specs lol.
Samsung Galaxy S II was announced like 8 months ago, released about 5 months ago with the spec of what Apple announced yesterday?
Samsung has manufacturing capacity. But part of that capacity is clout, samsung being a korean company, and much of the manufacturing going in taiwan and china. Apple is an american company. Think of samsung as a friendly buffer. Im sure apple is looking for another buffer though.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
I would say Samsung Galaxy S II is better than iPhone 4S. I am not sure about the camera. Does anybody have any idea how does the camera on Galaxy S II Performs. How is the quality. I know it is having 8 MP but what in terms of quality ?

SGSII review
I think they both need each other.otherwise one would break up with the other. Samsung is now promising to file more nuisance lawsuits than apple, claiming that no phone can be operated on the world stage without violating one of their patents.Maybe this will settle down the patent wars a little. But hey, they are still obviously doing allot of business together.

Funny lawsuit - Samsung suing to slow down sales of a phone that has their own processor in it. I wonder how much of this gamesmanship between apple and Samsung is for media attention and to justify higher cost.

Perhaps need is not the right word.

honestly who cares about a front facing camera and the processor on the 4s is a dual core.

Quad core technology next big thing?

Will we be grabbed by the quad core ICS devices rumored?
Or will they be like razors, we just keep adding blades and the hair still grows on our face or legs just as fast?

Same here, but I'm afraid what sells is sequel's like Transformers the movie or the Twilight saga (IMO both suck).
Footnote I'm surprised the hasn't been mobile development on virtual core technology.
Check out the asus transformer prime, the first quad I've seen so for. Come with keyboard docking station the turns it into a laptop. I like it when I got my hands on it at bestbuy. Haven't seen it attached to any data networks tho.

Too damn true! The iPad 2 gets all new bells and wistles. We just get to play the old bells and wistles a lil better.
Software development always lag 8 - 12 months behind hardware. If you keep buying the next big thing, you never get to actually use its hardware because there is no matching software.

Even though a camera on a tablet is generally horrible (even our Players have horrible Res) and looks rather stupid when using it for daily usage, it acts more of a convenience, say when you really need to take an image at that moment or an app needs it for AR gaming.
Generally, devices without rear cameras are usually deal breakers for me. But so far, I am used to not having a camera on my Player due to lack of camera from our ICS ROMs.
So it really depends on ones usage.

Yeah but the majority of people who owns a tablet owns a smartphone too and the majority of the time, people have their smartphones with them. So it's not that necessary. Also I wouldn't like to pay 50$ for a crappy camera. I'm already happy with what they offer.

Depends on your use for it. The nexus 7 spec vs spec is obviously better than the Galaxy Player 5.0, however the 5.0 is way more portable. If you're like say a college student than I would get a nexus 7 sense you're not going to be moving around that much. The only draw back to me is the amount of space the N7 has.
camera on a tablet is horrible
bad position for taking pictures

Awesome! However the tablet version was working fine using Xposed to set the dpi.
Does it have landscape support?
Man, Adobe is just milking users. There was NOTHING wrong with the tablet version, they just needed to adjust maybe one line of code to get it fit properly on smaller displays. Most apps that I own scale both tablet and phone ui without having to purchase two versions.

The phone version allows you to use the camera to create layers.
So, it's not exactly the same as the tablet version.
Besides, look at the UI, it's better adjusted for a phone.
However, i got both versions

If you are talking about the Gear I definitely agree. I was telling myself if it was under $100 I would definitely get it but this is just ridiculous. I don't understand why anyone would pay that much just so you don't have to check your phone. I mean it takes what 5 seconds, if that?

It wouldn't be bad to be able to see a quick text or email without pulling my phone out. Also the camera would be great for creeper pics Anyone that pays $300 for that thing though is insane.
Galaxy Gear I love it! Expensive for sure, but then Samsung stuff always is when it first comes out - I'd say it'll be down to $200 in just a few months.
What I'm excited about is:
1) Microphone and speaker, so I can talk without holding a huge phone against my face!
2) Health sensors, so I can do my daily workout much more conveniently!
3) Camera, so I can merrily take pictures at the drop of a hat!
Pretty sweet I reckon - now I wonder what watch Apple have got up their sleeves lol

the health sensors are what make me think this won't work on the note 2. Only the S4 and the note 3 have those built into the phone.
Personally, I'm more interested in the Qualcomm mirasol display watch. I don't like that the Samsung gear is going to be so locked into Samsung. But I don't think the qualcomm one is going to be widely available. Its more of a dev tester device.
