Sheeps and apples..nexus 7 is for home use and SGP for outdoor..its always with me..i had 7 inch tablet before i bought SGP 5 and have them both now ,one for home and other for outdoor.
Selling SGP because you have nexus 7 is beyond my brain..so you will care a tablet and listen to music and stuff like that.Even i have 3G on my 7 inch tablet with 30 gb data plan i dont care it with me often .. and SGP 5 is always in the pocket.

I have both and I prefer my nexus for daily use, but the player has some stuff that I really miss like physical buttons and a micro SD slot. If you have to choose go for the nexus

Even though a camera on a tablet is generally horrible (even our Players have horrible Res) and looks rather stupid when using it for daily usage, it acts more of a convenience, say when you really need to take an image at that moment or an app needs it for AR gaming.
Generally, devices without rear cameras are usually deal breakers for me. But so far, I am used to not having a camera on my Player due to lack of camera from our ICS ROMs.
So it really depends on ones usage.

Yes, my same exact thoughts! Even popular science agrees with us, in their review for the nexus 7. Every time I see somebody waving their iPad around like a dslr camera, I want to lolololol!

Yeah but the majority of people who owns a tablet owns a smartphone too and the majority of the time, people have their smartphones with them. So it's not that necessary. Also I wouldn't like to pay 50$ for a crappy camera. I'm already happy with what they offer.

Depends on your use for it. The nexus 7 spec vs spec is obviously better than the Galaxy Player 5.0, however the 5.0 is way more portable. If you're like say a college student than I would get a nexus 7 sense you're not going to be moving around that much. The only draw back to me is the amount of space the N7 has.
camera on a tablet is horrible
bad position for taking pictures

So far not blown away by this device. Blink is a bit limited. I think I prefer flipboard or scope. Havent really played with the camera yet, will do this weekend. Performance is really not much better than the hox. I'll use this for the week I guess and see comparisons between this and the sgs4. This screen is smaller than the nexus 4 also, some apps look smaller. I think the sgs4 will have a bigger screen and similar remote control? Anyone else not super impressed thus far?

Im with you there. I had them both side by side and the nexus screen didnt look that bad. Are you considering the galaxy s4 at all?
I went to att today and looked at the htc one not impressed at all. My note 2 screen looked just as good plus I know the battery life is better so I passed on it. The s4 will be the better buy if you have to buy a new phone for change.

Does anyone in this thread actually have the HTC One? I ask because your comments are night and day different than what I see with the One
I love the remote feature.. it might not let me watch live tv like my provider does but its simple and shows me when my favorite shows are on and recommends me new shows base on my favorites..
HTC Zoe i've been using since i've had the device.. im using the front facing camera more often now then i did on other devices
i plan on buying a S4 so ill have the best of both worlds

Yea nexus 4 screen isnt its weakest con. I think the battery and camera are worse. But I'm surprised how good the remote control worked better than my 3 remote controls I usually have to use. That note2 was a little too big and heavy but its next iteration I heard may be aluminum. It may be worth waiting for that.

the phone is great but i feel that sense slows it down =/ i got my phone today renewed my contract with an early upgrade paid almost 500, and now im slightly regretting it.
Shouldn't be stuck on stock Sense for long. I think once someone gets an AOSP-based 4.2 ROM up and running smoothly the One will be good to go.
Here's to hoping the so-called bootloader blunder will continue for a while to attract some good developers. If HTC shuts it down then this device will more or less suck compared to Nexus 4. ( just my opinion, AOSP > all OEM skins and is more important (to me) than hardware specs)

I'm usually the first one to criticize Sense, but I haven't felt like it's slowing down this phone at all. There's the occasional jerky animation, usually just when adding widgets in the launcher, but that's about it.

In this order:
Development, Processor, Resolution, Price
I came from the fantastic Acer a500, so it had to be a damn good device.
screen res, nexus status. if a new N7 was out with a higher res screen, I would have gotten that. but this was a work purchase, and the fiscal year is ending so I needed to buy now it's an upgrade from my galaxy tab 10.1.
edit: not a reason why i purchased, but the front speakers are impressive, at least compared to my old tab.
Development,screen, front speakers, design
I had a Nexus 7 at the time, and prior to that, a Galaxy Tab.
- I wanted to try a larger tablet
- The specs were pretty awesome
- Rear-facing camera (found it a real pain that my N7 didn't have one)
- Screen resolution
- Front-facing speakers
- Nexus
Was kind of concerned with the pace of development at first. Seems alright now I suppose :good:
Still kind of interested in trying out a Windows tablet for some specific games though...

In other words, did you search before making this thread?
It's a nexus and has soo many pixels. I like pixels. It was most certainly NOT because it has a rear facing camera.
Screen and specs, android, knew it would have a strong development community supporting it, specs will make it decent for a couple years, I travel for work and need something to check email daily, laptop too heavy, etc. And it's a fun toy.
Hdmi, Development, 10".

the screen, the processor, nexus device, that black on black.
why
Have the Nexus 4 already.
Came from a Tablet S and was a bit disappointed in the updates or lack thereof as well as the shell design. Thought it was cool for about a week.
Top reasons:
Standard android
Screen
speakers
My experience so far is excellent with no complaints. It's much faster, better screen, better speakers, better wifi (much). I like some of the Sony apps like Music Unlimited but I can just download them if I want them.
I don't think I will ever buy another non-nexus device for cell or tablet. Price is right and updates are swift.
What made you choose Tablet S ?
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
tablet s
Thought it was a bit different at the time. Bought it back in 2011 when it first came out. Kind of bought into the whole it's easier to hold thing with the wide grip on the one side. Also the first to have the remote IR feature (which I never used hardly). I had the X10, Sony Arc and then the Xperia S so was just keeping it in the family so to speak. Still think the Sony UI is very intuitive compared to the Samsung, LG and Htc overlays.
I chose the Nexus 10 because it was the successor to the Motorola Xoom. Stock Android with updates direct from Google. That's what mattered. There was no other choice.
Winning it in the favorite things sweepstakes mostly

Probably i know what ur Problem is. Look up the new trim function of android 4.3. That will probably tackle ur Problem. Basically its sort of fragmentation of the memory. You may factory reset if the problem persists because toggling wifi is such a simple task it should never lag. Cm has no stable 4.3 Version yet. I recommend flaming monkey rom, its lean light and fast (basic aosp with some tweaks). You see the N10 still has the bleeding edge architecture with the A15. There are faster devices but only 2 others or so with that modern architecture

When it comes to design, the N10 really received great remarks from the November 2012 reviewers.
The soft/grippy feeling plastic actually handles great and looks good. The subtly rounded corners and edges has a great feel, no sharp edges that bite into the hands after prolonged handling.
Gave my N7 to my spouse and use the N10 as my daily tab. Been using a friends Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition and it's real nice, but I still like the feel of the N10. Enough that I'm not rushing out to buy the 10.1 2014 edition at this time.

There are actually 2 Nexus tablets on the market right now... the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10. The 2013 Nexus 7 is an excellent tablet you can buy directly from the Play Store or other places online. The Nexus 10 is also worth considering if you want a bigger tablet, and it also has the BEST speakers of any tablet on the market. Personally, I'm waiting for them to come out with the "updated" Nexus 10 like they did with the Nexus 7. Either way, as far as Android tablets go, they are both winners. The only other tablet I would recommend taking a look at is the new Samsung Note 10.1 - it has a gorgeous display and all of the productivity power of the Note software and stylus. It's just a little too pricey in my book though.

I have been using it for reading and browsing mostly and it works really well. One thing I noticed is how accurate the colors are on the screen. I compared it to my Nexus 5 and it seems the colors are more accurate on the Venue. (I compared my favorite teams colors.) I think for daily activities this tablet works good thanks to the speedy 2Ghz processor. I haven't done any gaming though. Overall, I like it.
Oh, camera doesnt have flash and the shutter is slow. But I'm not gonna be taking pictures with this thing

Sounds good then I'm a student so my number reason for wanting this one is the size and use of using day evernote or super note with it

Anyone know about getting 4.4 on this thing?
I'm all for rooting and what not, but I really want the photo editor of KitKat. Im a photographer and that editor looks super cool so 4.4 is important to me.

Wow, so I got to play with one of these today and while I like the size, my goodness the screen was unusable. Not that it wouldn't take my input its that it would hit somewhere else on the screen. It was a floor model so naturally it was messed around with and in German but I could not for the life of me get the Gallery app to open.
I want to have tablet as a portfolio of sorts for my photography so I wanted to see how images looked. Sure I could get the Nexus 7 with its higher resolution but I like the size of 8" tablets. That 1" really does equate to more screen room. Heck 7" isnt much bigger than my 5.2" phone. The only real other options are the Samsungs Tab/Note which I am not found of and the LG Pad/Tab 8.3 which would be my first choice except the price.
I should receive mine in the next few days! Hope that a dev will also get one and start looking at it

May have been a bad unit or may be it was lacking the firmware updates (there were 2 since launch). The gallery app works as it is suppose too. While the resolution isn't the best compared to a 1080p screen the colors look very good. Not in "saturated" good but in "natural" good. You're right about the extra inch: 8 incher feels more like tablet than the 7 incher does.

Good find. But seems like thin info and unless I don't know about them, I don't believe there are any models with 4G as noted.

as with all newer phones and tablets, remember tech companies like samsung, dell acer, etc like to push out updates for their newest devices first then going backwards to slightly older and continuing till they want to cut em loose with the updates. so that means 4.4 will be released to the venue 8 is thats only inevitable, the question just remains when? maybe not till holiday season is over though simply because im assuming dell is gonna have a goood ole time keeping up with production once tomorrow and the weekend hits.
who knows? just enjoy it till then.
so excited for toorrow to order
btw how long does shipping usually take? (if anyone ordered in in canada yet)
