[Q] (Urgent)Unrooted and stuck with clockwork - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I unrooted my phone with an unrooted so i can update ota but i now realized i have clockwork recovery flashed! what do i do?

You're better off with Nottachs 2.3.6 ROM - the OTA update is causing a LOT of problems even with the more advanced users.... I'd stay away from it...

Unroot
what do i do from where i am and plus i want to unroot my phone any way
for icecream

ICS is still months away.... why unroot now?

A root will not prevent u from upgrading to 2.3.6 or Ics, if you flashed any rooms that's a different story

Update issue motorola atrix

Ive been really looking foreward to this new gingerbread update. I have a rooted atrix and i have been unsuccessful with this update i tried the ota update as well as the update from the computer.
It starts to update after the reboot, but then it stops and the triangle with the exclamation mark appears.
Can anybody help me with why this would happen and how i can get the update?

You cannot update if you are rooted. You can only update if you are running stock 2.2.2. It might be possible to update with your current setup if you do it through Motorola Software Update manager. Try it.
Otherwise you need to flash back to stock before OTA. Do you have an unlocked bootloader?
Is there an easy way to flash back to froyo? I called motorola and they told me i have to send my phone to them so they can put the update on it. I was going to use the glad enabler or something like that to unlock that but i never did.

Try the 2.3.4 fruitcake. Never call Motorola about your rooted phone...that what the community is here for.

[Q] Samsung updates on rooted SIII

How do I apply these OTA updates rolling today for galaxy S3 on a rooted S3 (Clockword MOD recovery)?
OTA updates don't work on rooted devices, you'll have to update via kies and to my knowledge you'll lose root, not 100% so don't hold me to that

if you want ota with a rooted stock firmware you can give chainfire's kernel a try. according to him, his kernel can survive an ota update. heres the thread

[Q] Now that im rooted???

When the next OTA does come out. #1, can I install it on my rooted device? #2 if I can, will I loose root?
Im currently rooted and on stock rom.
Thanks in advance for the information!
You can accept the OTA update if you haven't messed around with your phone too much, but I'm pretty sure you will lose root(haven't tried yet). If you are on a custom rom , you should not take the update.

You WILL lose root if you don't use ota root keeper and back it up before accepting the ota. You must also be on your stock ROM, no custom recovery installed, and be on .211 (CDMA) to get the ota
Full-Throttle Team
And don't remove any bloat. You can freeze but don't remove. (If you use titanium back up)

[Q] Want some information to start

Hello,
I've recently owned razr and I wanted to know some information before rooting/installing roms
- I'm confused about the bootloader as I've read that the bootloader must be unlocked to be able to install new roms however, I've read some guides for noobs where there was nothing written about bootloader.
- Is it possible to reinstate the warranty state ?
- My razr now is on ICS 4.0.4 can I install JB roms by the same way as ICS roms ?
I've searched for answers but I didn't get accurate ones so forgive me if those questions were answered before
Thanks in advance.
you can flash roms with locked bootloaders. just install recovery

I didn't mean official ones. ex CM Can I install it on another slot beside the stock (ICS) rom using safestrap ?
Also, would the warranty back if I deleted a rom that I've installed, back to the stock one and did a full unroot ?
For what I know when you start root your phone your warranty will gone. SS v3.11 for what I test out CM ROM can installs it on slot 1.it won't touch your stock ROM. For BMM you can install it on system 2/3/4/5 and so, you can active that slot at setting before you go in recovery and flash your custom ROM.
