It would be nice if it worked though. I'd like something better than a 320x240 in my x10 mini but I didn't expect it to be possible anyway.

It would be nice. Or i can find someone who does the job.
Why would you want a different screen than what is on the S2? I dont know of another mobile device that has a better looking screen than our, or one thats really even that is close to a sharp!!!
Idk. Just not Hd like the iphone. Still it is alright...

Put them side by side and you'll see that while the iPhone wins for resolution and clarity, the SGS2 far exceeds it with contrast and colors.
Tottaly agree... I don't see the point in replacing the screen anyway what do you need that high of a resolution for anyway?

I just really wanted one. Still its ok.

The SGS 2 has better black levels. That's about it.

Should have waited for the nexus or went with LG's 720p res phone. Also i work with a lot of iphone fanboys and not one yet has said they like their screen over mine
Screen Adjuster app lets you change red green blue plus contrast and brightness. I use it and it works well.
I use LCD Resolution app. Tw launcher isn't compatible but launcher pro and go launcher works great!

Samsung phones are highly proprietary and don't respond well to changes. Even using a non OEM battery can cause problems in some cases. What don't you like about the display? I think its pretty nice.

Anyone know why videos on Netflix are all pixelated on the x2? Is there a fix?
Sent from my MB870 using XDA App
My guess is you have a connection problem of some sort. Are you using it on wireless or 3g? Mine is usually clear. Only time it gets pixelated is when my internet connection is acting up (having trouble with it at home right now). When the connection is working as it should, Netflix works great. If my connection starts going bonkers, the picture will pixelate for a few seconds and then clear up again as the signal gets better. Until my internet problems at home, I never had any problems with it. This reminds me. Have to call my ISP, again.
Tried on my wifi McDonald's wifi 3g. All Pixelated

Netflix looks good on mine. On 3G Nd wifi.
Sent from my MB870 using xda premium
Just tried on my home wifi. Looks just fine, although at the beginning it was pixelated. IIRC Netflix tried to use an algorithm to change its quality to best suit your connection speeds. As has been said previously, WIFI is recommended over 3G, but you might also want to look into some scripts (speedy comes to mind, but I haven't kept up with that compared to what comes with the latest roms tbh).

Its most likely a network difference. The Thunderbolt has 4G, and the X2 has 3G. The reason you just downgraded is because the X2 is way faster than the Thunderbolt. The Tegra 2 processor is no joke.
Actually its a major upgrade. Even rooted with cm7 the thunderbolt is blowing the x2 out of the water

Mmhmm.... Where are you getting your information? What are you basing this on? Which device was running CM7?
Basing it off being able to fly through app after app, webpages being crystal clear, music not skipping or forcing closed. The x2 was running cm7. The locked bootloader sucked balls. I like changing kernels, radios, etc. Thunderbolt does everything I ask it to without hesitating
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
While I do agree that a locked bootloader is terrible (my previous device was unlocked), I have to say that your other evidence merely comes from OS tweaks, not speed. The Xperia play browser is smoother in scrolling than the X2s, but that doesn't mean that it is faster. A good way to see performance differences is to try heavy emulators like N64oid and FPSe with 0 frameskips and graphics smoothing on and you will see a significant difference in performance, especially with FPSe, which has dual core optimization.
When I put my cm7 x2 next to my RF stock TB yea the x2 wins in quadrant scores, but that means nothing when a game like fruit ninja lags on my phone but not hers. Or videos from SD card are pixelated but not on the tb

Netflix used to do the same on my iPhone. Its definitely not the screen.

So I'm not the only one noticing, great I think. Is there an actual fix in ics for this?
Software, not hardware. Known issue in the IGN.
I think maybe its the quality of stream that netflix uses cause when I play movies from my sdcard i dont notice it..
i always notice it though if the video res is really low.

I'm not in an LTE area but I have 30/5mb speeds with wifi. Netflix looks horrible still. I'm thinking that a lot of apps just weren't made for this size screen and a simple update will fix it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
yes i think hiii is correct. the netflix app on 2.3 series does not scale with screen size i beleve it is kept at a low resolution and that is part of the blockyness.
Use the following Netflix.apk file attached. It'll solve all the resolution problems. I've been using it for 2 days now.
Note: Do NOT update the app after you install it, or it'll go back to the one that doesn't work well.

on th note
My Netflix doesn't look bad. But we need to realize that....sure the International version has been out for a while, but is only now going mainsteam with the i717. That will make app developers take notice and start optimizing for the Note screen.

Yikes! Just got my brand New Galaxy Tab last Tuesday and now I've been informed that there is a Note 10.1 around the corner.
The "only" difference I've seen so far is that it will pack a 1.4 processor, stock ICS, and external sd card slot.
Since I got this one in Costco is returnable. However, I think the Note will start @ $500 (maybe more...)
I dunno... You guys think is worth the wait?
It's just that I have a SGS2 and is sooo much faster than this Tab. Will flashing a custom ROM to this tab make a difference in speed?
Thank you for taking my question.

I can only say I'm running my 10.1 @ 1.4 and haven't had any issues not caused by myself.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app
You missed the whole point huh, the pressure sensitive stylus?
Value is a subjective thing though, only you know what you need out of the device. Going with the note will surely mean a longer wait for development of custom ROMs. If the added features make up for that as well as the delay between launch and shipment then go for it.
Me personally i find the idea of the stylus intriguing but then the ram limitation (the 1gb of ram, not sure if this is an Android system restriction at this time but I'm guessing so) is cause for pause for me. We all look at lag critically and i always wonder how additional system ram would improve that. If increasing it on a standard PC improves performance to a degree then surely on a tablet it would as well. Of course that would add additional cost but I'm sure many would spring for premium models with more memory. I bring up this issue because of Samsung partnering with adobe on the inclusion of Photoshop touch with the note. Moving towards marketing tablets for graphic production using the stylus needs to come along with the ability to do it well without the lag and unresponsiveness shown in the demos. Surely there are driver optimizations that can help yes but anyone who uses Photoshop regularly to do production knows that ram is hugely important.
Baby steps though, the note is certainly a welcome addition to the tablet arena. If an LTE one comes out in the next year is certainly consider it.

Return it and keep saving to get the galaxy note 10.1. I read a couple weeks back they were holding of release til june to switch out the dual core processor for a quad core processor. I think it would be worth returning any tablet to get the galaxy note 10.1 if this rumor is true.

If this rumor is true I will crap my pants

The dpi isn't causing the battery saving, its everything else.

320 is actually smaller than the stock 440. Running completely stock, the UI can seem huge to some, like myself. So I prefer 320 DPI. Much smaller.

I think I understand now. The dpi is not referring to the physical screen's dpi changing in any way, it's referring to the rendered fonts, meaning they will be smaller on the screen.
Thanks for clearing that up.
