hi.
a bit of a stupid question here, sorry.
so I tried to flash this cwm 5.5.0.4 using ph85img.zip (hboot method)
and it said that the update was complete.
but im not showing cwm 5.5.0.4 anywhere. infact it just says
5.0.2.6 on my rom manager.........
(even if i reboot my phone to cwm recovery, it still says 5.0.2.6)
did i miss a step here?
i really need 5.5.0.4 get going since my current recovery doesnt seem to
allow charging when the phone is off.
If you can find CWM Touch 5.8.0.9. by Xboarder56 (you won't find it here and I'm not posting the link to android-dev site) it works perfectly and has touch UI interface

rom manager will only show 5.0.2.6 because that is the latest official version, but when you boot into recovery it should show the correct version...
also the previous version of 5.8.0.9 has off charging issues as recently discovered but X updated not too long ago, so for those like me that jumped the gun on 5.8.0.9 we need to update lol

First of all, amazing work on the rom, its the best out there. My only problem is my wifi wont even connect? It says wifi error. I installed the latest version. Before that, I did superwipe, then all the other wipe part and then did a clean install. Still no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Did you flash the kernel?

Are you using the OFFICIAL Nightly or an UNOFFICIAL.
If you watch the video, you see that mine is 4.0.4.
I can't wait to give this a shot. Been on the official CM9 for a whiles. Seems like progress is at a standstill with official releases.

Have you ever used CWM Manager to go to CWM instead of the reboot menu?

I did the same thing, but the unofficial is still 4.0.3 whereas the Official for March 29th is 4.0.4, so I will be switching to official builds now

I flashed this nightly but my notifications are messed up. When I have a notification in the bottom right corner, it just shows a blurry white box in place of the actual notification. I went back to Alpha 2 and this problem is not there. I'll stick to Alpha 2 for now unless there's a way to fix that.

Are you running any type of additional video drivers, such as Chainfire?
If so, you may need to reinstall them.
Or... it may be time to do a factory reset in Clockwork Recovery.

Nothing extra like that installed. I did do a factory reset in recovery but it still didn't fix that issue. Don't know what's causing it. Might try one time after I do a backup in recovery. Last time I forgot that I didn't have a backup :-\ .

Does anyone know what the new TWRP specs are? I didn't see a changelog on their website. 2.4.0.0 was recently released and 2.4.1.0 was released today. The website, http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/131 , states that off mode charging is broken, but in the viper thread users are saying that its fixed. Does anyone have any clarification? regardless, i now have 2.4.1.0 on my hox+. tia

It is a good idea to do a backup but you should simply be able to flash on top of the old one. That is what I did and I didn't have any problems!
You should be fine installing over the old recovery. I installed over it using the all in one utility and it worked perfectly
Slithered from my Venom One X+
I can't see the files and folders on my HOX+ with new TWRP, old one worked fine. I can only see the TWRP folder on /SDCARD but not the other folders and no files
What could be wrong?
EDIT: I re-downloaded and re-installed it, problem solved. :good:
What custom ROM's would you recommend for the DNA? I'm leaning towards Viper's. I'd appreciate some suggestions on a stable, daily driver ROM to give a shot.

Thanks for the response. Care to help me understand something here though? Do I have to start with 1.1.0 and step up to 1.1.1 and then 1.1.2 and then 1.1.3 or do I go right to 1.1.3? Or do I start with 1.1.0 and jump right to 1.1.3?

Hi guys
So I will picking up my Droid DNA early next week - it is still factory standard.
I want to apply the new update that was just released and also use the ViperRom
What steps are required and in what order.
i.e.
1. Unlock bootloader (which is current best method?)
2. Root (which is current best method?)
3. Install OTA update (new verizon one that just came out this week)
4. Install ViperRom
I am in Australia on Telstra network if that matters?
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
Cant wait to try out the DNA, I have always loved the look of this phone since I first saw it :fingers-crossed:

From what i understand, you have to install a new rom just to get root access.

No you don't have to. All you need to do is unlock the bootloader install a custom recovery and then flash the superuserbusybox zip and that's how you get root access

It took me a little bit to get my "sea legs" as it were, but it really was a pretty smooth process overall. And Viper is ridonkulous. The customization is crazy.
Good luck.
Flashing the ROM right away will give you root access, but if you want to play around with the stock rooted rom for a bit, you can just flash the superuser zip in recovery: http://androidsu.com/superuser/
Oops, didn't realize there was a second page and someone already posted the answer lol. Sorry.
I have problems flashing Roms I dont know what could be the reason. Couple days ago my SD card died I bought a new one I tried to flash the new version of Tweaked I forgot to made a back up and for some reason my phone will get stuck on the "Galaxy note 2" screen or return to the TWRP menu I tried to flash at least 5 different roms and same results the only one It was able to boot was Clean rom 3.1. I updated TWRP to the latest version and still having the same issues if any one can tell me what to do I will appreciate it

You do know first boots take a while right? You should wait up to or at least 10 minutes for the first boot of a rom.

I'm actually having a similar, if more limited, problem. I recently tried flashing P.A.C. rom onto my Note 2, but it would just hang on the galaxy note 2 screen. I left it for more than 10 minutes without change. However, after that I tried flashing Cyanogen; which worked just fine.
I'd greatly appreciate any tips on how to figure out what's going wrong.

And now it works.
So, I seem to actually have things working now and I figured I should give a quick update.
Before, I was using a nightly of P.A.C. rom, because I didn't see anything more stable at the time. Now I've switched to a milestone rom and it boots just fine. At this point, I think I'd pin the blame on a glitch the rom I was trying to flash; given the fact that Cyanogen and the current iteration work fine
