Guys is there any plans available for Galaxy S II (1.5Ghz model) with pay as you go contract as opposed to minimum monthly billing contract anywhere across US? Plan to get it network unlocked and use it in India.
Wrong forum. You're looking for skyrocket info.

Could you be kind enough to tell me where I should look for?

Google straight talk. Cheap pay as you go no contract.
You can network unlock your phone with software as long as your phone is rooted. Although I presume yours is not.
Good luck.

I did search for them. They don't have the Skyrocket with them. Can you help, please!

I'm coming from a Galaxy Nexus and bought the AT&T Note today. I popped in my Sim Card and it doesn't get any kind of data signal from AT&T. It gets bars, but no signal. My Nexus had no problem getting 3G/HSPA+. I bought the phone outright. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Maybe you need a 4G LTE sim card?

I have the same problem and currently att systems are updating. You can probably make calls but no data, and as it was explained to me customer service has to update your account with the new note imei number and then we should get data.

If the OP has an orange and blue Sims then it's good for lte.

Did you go ahead and do that? What's the number for customer service?
I didn't know you needed a separate card for 4G LTE.
Had the same issue had to contact my retail Rep and she updated my imei number in their system. All golden I was in the same boat as you all coming from gn which I might go back to.

You need call and get your data plan updated to lte plan (you keep the same plan data amount you have but you must have the lte provision on the plan). Otherwise, you will not be able to connect. You may our may not need s new Sim card depends on how old your card is.

The system they use to update imei device numbers on accounts has been updating since yesterday apparently so I'm using wifi until. Usually 611 gets you to cs. Let us know if you have better luck.

This is accurate. The LTE provisioning is the critical part. Otherwise, it won't matter what SIM you use. You won't be able to connect to ANY data services at all. This is very different from any other AT&T devices where you would just swap the SIM... I got an early demo unit and have been frustrated for a week. Lol...

It should've came with the phone. I paid for the phone outright and a new 4G LTE SIM came with it. Also your data will be updated to the LTE data plan.
I read this in another thread and have not confirmed it - look at the number on your SIM, if the 9th and 10th digit is 25 then it is good for LTE.

Its against XDA rules to post in the wrong area. I suppose I could just start reporting the threads to the mods but they have better things to do. Telling people to post in the proper forum might actually get the point across without adding work for the mods.

Did you ask a question? It would appear this belongs in the Question and Answer forum.
Anyway, the T-Mobile One supports every band at&t does plus AWS. Unlocked and with the right APN, it will work flawlessly on at&t - in fact the T-Mobile software has almost no lag compared to at&t.
There's your answer.

I have an unlocked T-Mobile HTC One, and it works perfect with AT&T SIM. I can get both LTE and HSPA+. That actually makes T-Mobile version a much better buy since I'm getting ALL the bands for both carriers, much less bloatware, and WiFi calling when using T-Mobile SIM.
Couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the tip on that app. It still didn't fix the problem, but I figured out what my problem was. I was only able to get up to HSPA+ speeds since the APN settings for LTE would not work. When I put the LTE APN settings in, it would say there was a data connection issue and the settings were not correct.
After doing some additional research, I found that since the IMEI of the T-Mobile version is not in AT&T's database of LTE capable phones, my data provisioning on my account was locked in at only receiving HSPA+ speeds. My last phone was a T-Mobile HTC One S, which wasn't LTE capable, so it made no difference what the data provisioning was on my account. To make a long story short, I took my wife's HTC One X that she was not using any longer and had the AT&T phone rep put that phone on my account since it's capable of LTE and the IMEI is obviously in their catalog of devices.
After that, the settings worked immediately for my HTC One.
The more and more I look for help from AT&T, the more I realize that the company doesn't have many employees that are skilled in the way of assisting outside devices. Since T-Mobile welcomes customers to bring their AT&T devices to their network, I can only assume they would have figured this out a whole lot quicker.

Their policy on this seems to be very arbitrary. I purchased mine at Wal-Mart and paid outright for it, and then submitted the necessary info immediately to their SIM Unlock department. Here's the response I received from them a week later:
T-Mobile Sim Unlock Request
Sim Unlock Reference: ---------
IMEI: 35597205-------
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. We have received your SIM Unlock Request. Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. The account must meet the following criteria:
1. 60 days of active usage on device
2. Must have $50.01 or more in accumulative refills since activation.
Please submit a new SIM Unlock Request once the subscriber has met the Eligibility criteria.
Thank You,
Sim Unlock Department

I went ahead and just used the eBay seller that veliksam suggested in the Q&A section.

How did you get it unlocked? You would have to wait 40 days to unlock it by T-Mobile. Did you find a site that can get it unlocked? I heard that most of the sites don't have the codes yet for T-Mobile version of HTC One.
I'm currently with Cricket Wireless and every time I try to update I phone I receive an error message stating, "error: update check interrupted".
I have come to find out that you cannot get the update through Cricket Wireless.
Does anyone know if the Samsung booths within Best Buy stores will receive the update? I went in about two weeks ago and they claimed to not yet received it.
Are there any U.S. carriers besides AT&T that you can get the update from OTA? If I were to go with AT&T pay as you go would I receive the update?
Thanks.
I was able to get the update using an old SIM card for Net10 which I was not using. I am currently with T-Mobile though I am considering to switch to Cricket. Just a piece of info.

I heard some carriers were supported, such as Straight Talk. Did your Net10 SIM have a monthly plan on it when you tried it?

to get lollipop you MUST have an AT&T or an AT&T MVNO sim card. Because the phone has to connect to ATT servers. And it won't anyone but ATT to connect. Also I'm not trying be rude but this has been covered many times already
I didn't see any threads and I did a bit of searching first but besides the point.
How do you determine of a SIM is ATT MVNO?

Yes, cricket is on the ATT network but I've been informed by a few sources that Cricket is also their own network and won't receive updates. Whatever reason that is...
But I've heard of people updating on other carriers using ATT towers. I'm probably going to boot Cricket down the road anyway. Not getting updates is garbage.

I know T-Mobile used a different primary LTE band so the G850a may not work with them.
Just tried to update with an inactive Straight Talk SIM on an AT&T LG G2 and it said the device was up to date. The LG G2 update was rolled out with the Alpha update so it should be available. Can't test with the ST SIM in my phone; it won't fit.
G850A works great with T-Mobile. Much faster LTE than with AT&T. No lollipop update is availability through T-Mobile though. So I had to use my old MET10 SIM card to get the update. Now I'm on lollipop with T-Mobile.
