Do I need an app to change the format of Screenshots? Screenshots seem to default to PNG on the Note, can you change that option to Jpeg by default?
I'm trying to upload some screenshots with the XDA app but it won't accept PNGs
There seems to be some conversion apps in the market, but all i did was use Astro file manager and rename it from png to jpg. Seems to work fine

xda sucks at uploading pics in a nice resolution, they usually compress the heck out of your screens.....why not try using imgur app and upload and then use link to post here.

The picture will be in the "shootme" folder on your sdcard, just copy the picture from your sdcard to your PC and just upload from your PC....otherwise if you insist on uploading it through your phone's browser just attempt to locate the pic on your sdcard in the shootme folder...uploading through cell phones can be shakey sometimes
I email the pictures to my flickr account. Works very well.
imgur app works good too.
Hey guys the title says it all. Where to hide my porn in the file manager so that it is invisible in the gallery.
I put my porn in my created folder 'other' but still it is visible in my gallery lol

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA xD
Remove the filename extension. Works for me
audio manager is a good app to hide any secret information....
hit the thanks button if i have helped you...
use video vault bro for videos, and photovault for images. Ask me if you want the apk.
Any folder name that begins with a ' . ' (period) wont be scanned by the gallery.

Well if you really wanna hide stuff even from sdcard, use audio manager by Anuj Tenani ( The name of app is purposely named) .
It works as a audio profiler but once you long press the title of app you go into this secret world.
It encrypts data (with some simple and fast method) so even if someone gets hold of sdcard no worry. You can also uninstall the app(data remains hidden), when you reinstall you shall find everything as it is.
You have to long press the media or folder you want hide > Share > audio manager.
Good things in life are always free.
But if you just want to hide it from gallery use gallery excluder it makes the ".nomedia" files for you. (Restart gallery one or two times)

You can also zip them or add .zip extension to the master folder. Root explorer and astro play the zip directly without Unzipping.

Apending folder with .zip I think wont work, gallery will still show the content because its a folder with .zip in the name not extension.

Just tried after adding .zip to my video songs folder. Videos show in gallery but don't play. They don't play in any video player either.
Deleting the created thumbnails will also solve the problem of showing in gallery.

Agree.
Is there a way to hide or not show each and every image file on my phone in the gallery app. Gallery app shows not only pictures taken with my camera and albums but also images from all my apps installed. Thanks
Put a .nomedia file in folders you don't want shown. If you're unsure what that means, search for .nomedia.
I suggest that you look for an app called quickpic on the market to replace the stock gallery. Once you start using it you won't ever go back to stock. It has the functions which you need.
Thank you guys, I'll try both.

+1
Been using Quickpic now for a long time and it's the best there is.
I'm surprised Google didn't buy this app and add their own tweaks to it as the stock gallery app isn't up to much at all.
Start any folder name with a full stop and it won't be shown in gallery even if file explorer is set to show hidden files

Hi again, guys.
This time I wanna share with you a very nice app I found. It is a good alternative to Gallery 3D, wich for me is slow and buggy (fortunately, it will be no more in ICS)
It's Quickpic. Runs very fast, loads images with great speed and it gives a lot of options, like moving images to another folder, hidding folders and protect them with password, excluding certain folders from the explorer, and more.
Im using GingerDX V21 and this app is working just fine. The only bug I found is when it starts we can't scroll down to see more folders, we have to hit the back button and re-enter to the app or switch to landscape mode; aside that this app is awesome.
...And it's free, but so good that I'll donate. Search it in the market. Hope it works for you too.

everyone know may be..... QuickPic is my best gallery apps
I use it too. I use QuickPic rather than Gallery3D. it loads image so fast. And i like the exclude feature
Thank you, i'ts way better than Gallery 3d.
On Quickpic have a function to hide/unhide image or video file but on Gallery 3D dont have that function.
Does the bug in first load fixed already?

yes now quickpic is best apps ever for gallery
I am agree with all of You.
1.Quickpic is very fast in loading thumbnails with List and thumbnail Views.
2.Shows more details about contents than G3D
3.Can open .gif files also play them.
4.We cant rotate video in FROYO roms but with Quickpic we can.
5.Also in Quickpic video player we can see battery lavel.
Can we rename this Quickpic to Gallery3d.apk and replace it as system default? will it calibrate with the stock camera mode?

Hi to all,
I've tried to move QuickPic to /system/app using System TunePro (used to move other app with full success) but I get always a FC with this message:
"application initialize failed please install the app from the android market"
- I've removed GingerDX022 gallery app
- I've moved the QuickPic app to system/app with System TunePro application
- I've rebooted and deleted dalvik cache with cwm.
Thank you for suggestions.
Hi everyone
I found a problem with Quickpic. When i am in picture preview and want to share the picture, the background of the menu is white and the texts of items too ! how do i change this, please ?
I'm using x8 with gdx22 and alfs07ics
Thanx
Ladalgigi
Sorry for my bad English.
Is there any app including scrollable widget that has feature to hide the images inside it. If someone wants to see the image, they must see via this app and it's widget ( the image is excluded from other gallery app ) :silly:
I've got a better idea.you don't have to use extra app for that ,just Zip the images you want to hide from the gallery. It won't be showing in the gallery and you can view it from the file manager by unzipping it .
