I can't seem to find a US version of Gingerbread 2.3 for my Dell Streak 5. I tried the korean version before rooting and after rooting and it still won't work. My streak is an at&t model, build #15697 version 2.2. Could someone please provide a link.
What do you mean by "it still won't work"? You need to provide more detail regarding what you have attempted.
There are no US versions of Gingerbread since the Streak has been discontinued in the US for months now.

Hi All
I am a complete newbie with Android and the Dell streak, I have had a play with some Win Mob ROMs on phones
I have just bought a second hand Dell Streak locked on o2 in the UK, It is running 1.6 software.
I am wanting to upgrade to 2.1, but the o2 website only shows how to do it over the air, and when I check for updates in the phone it says up to date.
Also if anyone reccomends a better ROM than that offered by o2, I woul be interested in rooting and loading that onto the device
I am currently reading through all the threads I can about android learning as much as possible, but thought i would post here as well
Thanks

Welcome to the android community and congratulations on getting a streak
To get you started take a look at the pinned topics on the top of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=776883
Basically if you want to go to android 2.1 you will need to put one of the 'update.pkg' files on the root of your sd card to kick off the update [flash] process
If you want 2.2 you will need to install a custom recovery image where you can flash the 2.2 rom from

Welcome to streakland LOL.
Seriously I really wouldn't bother with anything other than 2.2. Now you can go down the routing path N update to DJ Steve's 2.2 which is awesome. Or you can wait a few weeks N wait for the official dell 2.2 but looking at posts it's meant to be alot slower. Routing etc is rather easy N if you get stuck then there are plenty of peeps here who can advise.
Have fun.

Hi there,
I recently used the "eugene" froyo update on my new unlocked samsung vibrant from t-mobile. it still lags sometimes and i was kinda hoping to find a way to make it faster.
I don't know if the eugene froyo update rooted my phone or not. under firmware version it says 2.2 and build number says FROYO.UVJK2. I don't know what the build number means either.
I wanted to downgrade from this 2.2 version back to 2.1 cuz i wanted to wait for the original release of 2.2, but i couldnt find a way to downgrade. I want to make the phone faster if possible, that is why i am posting this.
If anyone could help or give me a solution, please let me know.
Thank you very much.
use Odin and flash original 2.1 firmware.
all instructions are in the vibrant bible.
I know official 2.2 is about to be released next month from AT&T but i was reading on other forums that AT&T put an OTA update pushing 2.1 out a while back. I know they also canceled the update since Dell was working on 2.2 release. I can't seem to find any 2.1 AT&T update packages, all links seem to be broken everything. I don't want to go to 2.2 yet because it seems like it does have issues, but I wouldn't mind installing 2.1 on my while streak for now. Does anyone have that update package for AT&T that I could download and use for now? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
AT&T never had a 2.1 Update. To have that on a US Streak, you would have to download build 4399 for overseas version, then update to build 8105(2.1) again, for overseas version. You can look for guide to updating and downgrading either in General or Development section of Dell Streak forums.
i have a Dell Streak with Official 2.2 froyo, and i wanna install a Rom 1.6 by Dj Steve
i haven't understand something, and i have some question
1) I read that I download and replace the baseband in the baseband of 1.5 before flashing the 1.6 ... but how do I replace it?
2) the ROM 1.6 (dj steve) is compatible with the Rebel Sim or I have to make some changes to make it compatible? if so, what change?
I apologize, but I am a beginner with the Dell Streak
