Rom size in titanium says about 600? I not sure how the on board memory is split up but i hope it adjusts to a higher size

I think we'd need NVFLASH to work in order to re-partition. I assume this space is taken twice over to allow for the hidden staging partition

How big should it be? I'm not trying to be snarky, I just don't understand. But I will say that I checked the ROM space on my G2X and it is 719MB total as compared to the 543MB total on the Prime.
Yeah i have the g2x too and it has 1.2 gb of space but maybe its just how tb sees it

Does anyone use a torrent? For some reason I tried to dl a movie like I've done a bunch of times on my infuse and it was over 2gb and the prime told me it couldn't dl because file was over 2gb. Anyone ever run into that or have any idea what I can do to fix?

I use it all the time but I don't think I've ever downloaded anything that big. Sorry.
edit... whoops, i acutally use adownloader.
Try ADownloader, so far its worked really well for me. I haven't tried anything that large, but it shouldn't be a problem.
Also I just realized by the name that they might be made by the same person so maybe it won't work. Anyways its worth a try.

Just dl'ing to internal mem. Honestly it wont be a big deal. I was just trying to dl high def copy of the twilight movie for my wife (seriously for her...hate those movies...LOL). Normally 720p or DVD quality files are good enough for me. I guess I still would like to know why there is a 2gb limit. I don't think its the app since I use it on my phone and have done this before. It must ne the prime. Again. Not a deal breaker.

I use tTorrent the free version. Its awesome.
I've been using tTorrent as well.
Download straight to microSD. I believe the limit is 4gb, and thats because of the fat32 file system.

If you're running ICS, it recognizes both NTFS & exFAT formatted MicroSD's. Format your file system of choice using your computer & plug it in. ICS should recognize either FS. I've tested both & my MicroSD is formatted to NTFS.
If i skipped the drop box signup on first load can i still get the 50 gigs now when i sign up on my phone?
That's what I did. Already had an account and logged in a couple of days after using the phone, 50gb appeared.
Sent from my GT-I9300
what would happen.. say if I logged into my new one.. got the 50gb and logged into another brand new one?
Would I get 100gb? or just the 50gb since I got it once already
Once only per device.
But if I have 2 Sgs3 devices and 1 drop box account will it give me 100gig?
On my Galaxy SIII
The question is; what will happen with the content when the validity time ends!

It wont be removed instantly, you will have a grace period with dropbox. Its as if you cancelled your subscription to higher capacities.

Can you not register each device with its own account and set up a shared folder link from one to another?
Does it expire 2 years after you register. I've had my phone since release and still haven't registered. Mainly because I don't really understand what you would use it for.
@ZaJules
Create a 2nd Account and share the folder with the other Account.
I Hope you have 64GB S3 + 64GB Micro SD-Card. Or dont you download these Files to the S3? :good:
For your Information:
You dont get 50 but 48GB from that Promotion.
With the free 2GB you have 50 :fingers-crossed:
After the peroid you cant upload more files, till you have reached the Size that your are allowed to use anymore.
Regards.

I think we can assume it will simply drop down to the default value and you will loose everything on there, I think we can also assume you will get warnings from dropbox prior to this informing you it is going to happen. To keep you're 50 gig you'll have to start paying.
I am guessing you either pay or lose it, up to you.
I wouldn't worry about it just now, because people's data is valuable I would imagine dropbox will email when it's going to end, so you can transfer files to your PC.
Also because the files are synced across devices they will be in your phone and PC (if you have dropbox installed) so they should be safe.
They will not be allowed to delete your data without your saying.
You can still use the space just can't add anymore.

So you always have one copy locally.

You can set it to sync or not, I sync as I don't use it that much.
hope they allow use to keep the 50GB if nt more then 10 millon ppl is going to complain
In 2 years 50gb will be nothing special. So they will probably let you just keep using it and offer something bigger and better like 1TB or 10TB for small payment.
Remember when gmail was announced with 1GB storage? Everyone could not believe that they will give away all that space for free. How times changed.
As far as I'm aware, whatever of the space you have used will remain until you remove any items from Dropbox. As you remove stuff, the 50Gb will drop accordingly. Don't quote me on that, but I'm sure I read that somewhere!

For sure, dropbox will not delete ur data. Maybe just unlink ur fone from ur account, and keep ur data synced on ur pc. THAT'S INCASE they consider losing their customers.

By then Skynet would have taken over and cloud storage would be the last of your worries.
They l warn you b4 its getting over...
You can still use the stored data, but add nothing more until you remove the files taking the added space.
But isn't there a max time for your things to be stored? Like after five years of inactivity everything will be deleted?

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much. The world is supposed to end by December 2012 and you'll still have 1.5 years left on you Dropbox storage. So, it's all good! :good:

with the internal SD being 16 gigs and 11 usable, how is it partioned? for example, those 5 gigs between 16 and 11 are set aside for system, rom, apps etc right? (it's probably like 3-4 gigs since it's not fully 16gb..)
i only ask because i can't figure out where my storage is going. i plugged into pc, and highlighed everything on my internal storage, and its only 6 gigs. i've got 3 gigs free it says, so that's 9 gigs. where are those last 2 gigs? i can't figure it out.
Yea it's kinda weird. Also have you noticed that in settings/apps/running it shows the ram at whatever you have left out of 1.5gb instead of it being out of 2gb just like the original dna specs were saying it was.
Sent from my 5 Senses of DNA
It breaks down to 12gb for /data, 1.9gb for /system, 700mb for /cache, 10mb for radio_config, 17mb for recovery, 18mb for boot, 2mb for misc, 2mb for local, 50mb for radio, 100mb for reserve, 20mb for devlog, and the rest is for other partions. If you want to view how it breaks down, look at /proc/emmc and read the hex values. :good:

Initially this was a problem for me. It was either the DNA or the Note II. The fact is that we are moving to a cloud environment in all aspects of IT, even mobile phones.
All of my videos, television, music, and lectures are in the cloud. There is no real need for me to have a 64GB phone, or an SD slot. The idea is that we would migrate our multimedia fix to the cloud.. and our devices would become less expensive because of the lack of required storage.
To date, after 3 weeks of having the DNA... I haven't skipped a beat. All of my music is cloud based, my camera is linked to dropbox - automatically uploading pictures and video as I take them. And my movies and television are of course, online.
So how much storage do we really need then? And why is it then a real issue?

i mean, idc about that since i'm still unlimited and won't ever upgrade until they decide to take it from me.
however, i hate google music. the app is god awful, and it just defies all common sense. htc's built in music player is so much better.

I too would like an expandable memory, but at the end of they day if you REALLY need it you can always buy a USB memory card reader and plug it into the bottom of the phone, no?
What happened to WiFi then? There are millions of hotspots around the country. I use them as needed. My data usage hovers under a gig each month no matter where I go.
Why spend a premium on data plans when we have WiFi?

And that's exactly my point. I have 75MB down and 15MB up at home, OC3 at the office, and last I heard - 4G isn't as fast as that; it certainly isn't as fast as G.. Secondary to that, why waste money on a trumped up throttled and limited data plan when WiFi is readily available EVERYWHERE?
I dunno, I hear complaining where there doesn't need to be. And as far as I'm concerned, Mazel Tov to everyone who wants to waste their hard earned cash and pad VZW's wallet. (Not gonna be me though).

That's cool, I don't blame you a bit with Wi-Fi like that. I also have unlimited data, so it doesn't bother me at all to use data.
I was also answering a question that wasn't asked by you. And where was I complaining?
Since some of us are s-off, i think we can actually repartition our intertnal memory.
Gnex also had 16gb memory, but it had 13 gb memory for user. We could do with those additional 2 gb
Maybe some dev can look into that. My 2 cents.
