Google maps keeps appearing under recent apps. - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I will have everything closed but somehow google maps always appears back there without me touching it.
Does this happen to anyone else? How do I stop this?

Me too. I guess it's related to having 'allow google to locate you to improve search results' ticked in settings, or something similar.

I was also having this problem after the last Maps app update.
I think it disappeared after the 1st time that I actually opened the app and used it a little bit... have you done that?

ESPN sports center app

I heard there is a new update for this app, however i can't seem to find it on the market. Is anyone having this problem?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
It showed up as an update for me this morning.
I can't find it on the market though! :/
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I got it a couple days ago... Have your other apps been updating normally? Did you try reboot?
What kinds of mods do you have installed or whatever?
Not in my market either
Yup, not there for me doing a search on computer, and when I select it from "my apps" in market on phone where it shows as installed, I get "the requested item could not be found".
Probably pulled for some kind of major fix/overhaul/legal issue or something.
Weird, I just searched for it and it is not in the market app, nor in the web marketplace. It updated ok for me though.
Something is fishy
It's not in my market either
I'm pissed I really want it

For enough money, I can get "it" for you!
I think its called score center
ScoreMobile
Forget about ESPN app. Go get ScoreMobile. Much better real time information and lots of personalization options. Very clean, easy to read interface compared to any sports app on the market.
It's called watchESPN. I am running the cm7 beta and I have it.

you not alone. same here. it'll start working but when u zoom in or out after a while, it'll freeze up. actually freezes up the whole device. when in most cases forced a reboot. Google maps works fine though. I think Google developers need to update it.

Fixed this by force stopping and clearing data in settings, manage applications. Works great now.

thanks. this is one reasonwhy I love this forum so much. I ran out of thanks for the day.
I couldn't do anything in Google Earth without it force closing at first, but i went and cleared data and checked 'android compatibility' and it works perfectly now.

great find. will try out this tip asap. thanks!
Wow, just tried Google Earth. It worked for about 14 seconds and then froze my prime completely. The back, home, and running apps buttons wouldn't work. I even locked the screen and the lockscreen wouldn't even come up. I had to hold down the power button until it shut off!
I probably wouldn't use Google Earth very often, but I would still like it to work.
Google earth update on the market now, might have fixed the freezing problem.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201
On honeycomb I could just check the 'android compatibility' but I cant find this setting on ics and therefore earth is freezing up from time to time on ics. Does anyone of you know whether it is still possible to enable 'android compatibility'?

market app disappeared

I am rooted and running stock GB. All of a sudden, my Market App disappeared. To fix the problem, I downloaded and installed Market_3.4.4; however, the icon does not appear in my "Applications". Any help would be appreciated.
I'm going take guess and say that you are looking for Google Play. I'm assuming your market dissapeared because it updated to the new "market". I could be wrong though.

Find the phone for 'Play Shop'

That would be because the market no longer exists under that name. It is now the Google Play Store. Search for the Play Store app.
You guys, and gals, always come through. Thanks for your help.
This. Is absolutely hilarious. You know when it updates it even pops a screen up and asks u to click to continue? So instead of googling any kind of answer your first thought was "omfg my market! I should post about this! Who need to search when i can have other people do it for me! scoooore !"

I really dislike this change. I liked the familiar green Market icon.

[Q] Where does this add come from?!

ok, i had them before, but then they went away and now i got these green + with advertisements in my notifications again. Not sure what app they are coming from, does anyone know? Thanks in advance.
Check what dev makes that app advertised, and then see if you got an app made by the same dev.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA
good idea, i just checked and saw no connection... however i did finally take the time to read the "opt out" and went to the web page on my PC to be removed from the list. Time will tell if this works or not. Thanks
Thats the new way to advertise because of apps to block ads. I found the app bartender and some live wallpapers have these tied into them

I cleared cache and deleted the app...
and no more pop ups...

There is a free app called addons detector that will tell you if any apps in your phone use push messages (that is what that is) and remove the apps that do if you want.
Thank you I found one myself had same problem.

SGS3 S-Voice for Prime

Hey everybody...
Wanna voice command your Prime?
Samsungs S Voice from the SGS3 works on our TF201s.
Won't work on EVERY ROM, but I am running it on stock now, and it's confirmed working on CM9 and AOKP.
Only problem we are having is FC if you try to change the wake up command from "Hi Galaxy" to something else. In that case clear data and cache to get it going again.
Enjoy

EDIT: SAMSUNG HAS BLOCKED ALL DEVICES RUNNING THIS APP ON THE SERVER SIDE. IT WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE EXCEPT ON SAMSUNG GS3. SORRY
Sweet!!! And thanks!!! I'm running stock rooted latest firmware. About to download and give this a try!! So, how is it working so far? Better than the voice command apps from Play Store?

I installed by changing permissions to rw-r-r-- then placing into system/app rebooting then installing and everything will open but as soon as my phrase or any noise is accepted it force closes. Am I doing anything wrong?
Edit: just woke up and after about three more reboots it now seems to be totally working except for changing hi galaxy, it's pretty cool but so far it seems identical to dragon go just with the annoyance of having to wake it up and being able to control simple system settings

I just installed it as an apk and it works fine for me. So you can't control system settings? I guess it's different for everyone. Everything I tried worked so far. Notes, weather, WiFi, bluetooth, browser, etc. I don't see myself using it much at all, just thought it was cool that it works for us.

Yeah no problem. For some reason I really think it's cool when apps from other OEMs and devices work for my devices. Like this svoice, lwp, etc. I guess it's cool because it's not supposed to work, but we make it work
Yeah, he mentioned a while back on the AOKP thread he was the editor there, but I always forget. Pretty cool stuff on his site for sure.

Doesn't work for me. I installed it as a system app. 75% of the time I get server errors followed by forces closes. Twice it recognized my command ( what is the weather forecast) then FC'd. A third time it recognized it, displayed the weather, and FC'd about half a second later. Help?

Can't really give any support, sine it's made for the SGS3 and not out Transformer Primes.
You might be able to get it working a little better if you leave it installed, and install it again on top of it...someone mentioned that helps. Otherwise, go to the Samsung Galaxy s3 forums and check out the SVoice thread there.

That's what I did. Just downloaded and clicked install. Everything works except changing the wakeup name.
FYI
Samsung made sure it doesn't work anymore
They changed some settings on their server so that only SGS 3 users will be able to use the app.
since it is all server sided.
just change build.prop to gt-I9300. It has worked with me and with hundreds or thousand of other people.
