This is not a complete wipe or reset, is their a dial-er code like the note 1? The "Factory Reset" dose just about nothing, proven by the app "File Manager". If you do a factory rest after it loads up and you finish the set up, go to the play store and download the free app File manager, open it and click the menu icon (bottom left) and click storage analyses, and WA-LA you will see all your old apps, and any pictures saved in the phones storage! I would hope their is a real hard reset like in the note 1s, dialer code. Can anyone please help!
Go to settings > storage > Format USB storage and everything stored on your internal memory will be gone.
I for one don't get why there is help being posted for a thread that was over 6 months old out of no where

It is better for a newb to search and post on an older thread than start a new one. Right? Info is just as good today as it was six months ago. And it seems he wanted help and was not giving it out of nowhere. Why respond in a thread if you are not even intending to help but just flame?

I don't think so. The okay is the power button..... At least on the Vibrant. On other phones it's the okay or enter button on the keyboard but never the home or back buttons. As a matter of fact the back button does what it's supposed to. Just my 2 cents.

Dude, did you not read his entire post or do you just not understand ebonics?
HIS POWER BUTTON IS GONE!!! If you have ever flashed a rom before with clockworkmod, you would know that the "Power" button is the Ok button, which he doesn't have anymore.

Have you done anything to the file systems? Do you think it will still boot with just a hard reset? You can reset if its been rooted with adb. Do you have the sdk installed on your computer? If not, install the android sdk from the code.google site, and find an adb tutorial on this forum with the search tool..

I can 100% fix this for you. I have a few extra buttons in stock. If you send me the phone, I can solder you on a brand new one. You are not screwed...

If you can get into recovery mode (shut off phone, once its off then hold power, volume UP and home button together until the Galaxy s I9100 splash screen shows, then immediately let all buttons go and it will take you into recovery) from there you use the volume rocker to make selection and home key to enter selection. There is an option to factory reset in this recovery menu.
Hope that helps...
Thanks for the reply but the problem is the screen has broke so it wont display anything.

goto recovery
press VOL DOWN twice, press power button
press VOL UP 5 times, press power button
Would it not be easier to flash a stock firmware via ODin .
Vol Down + Power + Home wait a second or two then volume up .
Connect cable and flash stock or original rom .

How do I perform a complete factory reset....All data wiped? Is it possible? I've searched and can't find the answer.
I should add...I'm having a helluva time with random reboots and I'm trying everything before returning the phone. (I have a zagg installed)
The factory reset under Settings -> SD & phone storage doesn't wipe the data?
If not, you can totally power off the phone (pull the battery), and hold volume- while you power it back on, that should get you the recovery menu. There is a factory reset option in there. If you want to totally restore to stock, you can download the original SD card contents in the development section here and then format the sd card and put the original content back on.
Open up your dialer, hit ##786#, then put your msl in, then select menu, then select restore. Then it will reboot.. This will completely restore everything, including data, settings, it will wipe everything.

I go right into Hboot to factory reset. (Phone off)Hold Vol down & press Power. You'll see the option. Use your volume key to select & press power. BOOM!
Or you can use the above suggestions
Thanks guys...I tried the hboot method 1 time b4 and my data remained....all downloaded w/w and everything. But this time it worked perfectly. Let's see if this solves my rebooting problem. I just installed that 20 dollar damned zagg screen protector. I really appreciate all of the quick responses.

Depending on where you bought the Zagg, you can take it off and have it re-installed for pretty cheap usually.

Goclever A93.2 Bootloop
Sorry if this post is dead or problems are sorted but I am new to this site
I have just got and sorted 2 A93.2 tablets.
Switch the tablet off
Press and hold volume up and power until the full screen Goclever logo appears
let go of power button while still holding volume until the Android robot appears on his back with the red triangle appears
again press the volume up until the options menu appears (It may take a minute or two)
When options menu appears use volume up and down to select wipe data and factory reset, press the power button to accept the options that come up
Now wait for tablet to reset back to factory default settings and Android should reboot and load
My fiance can't access the play store on her P769. I forget what the error is, but she used to be able to access it. Her date and time is correct. It's rooted, but with the stock rom and kernel (I think the software version is P76920H).
Any ideas? Thanks!

Try to erase play store cache in settings. If it wouldn't help try to delete google account, and login again.

Go to Root Browser and navigate to System -> Etc, and find the "hosts" file. Delete it and reboot. That should fix it. You're welcome.

I haven't spent any time with her phone over the past month, but I'm working on it today. Since I first wrote, it lost it's ability to access data over the cell network, and won't connect to many wifi networks, either. I cleared data for Play Store and Play Services. I get a notification that it needs to update Play Services, but when I click on that, it goes to Play Store and says "No connection - Retry".
I want to wipe the phone and start new with a fresh ROM, but I can't remember how to reboot to Recovery. Holding volume-down while it powers up doesn't get me into Recovery. I'm not having much luck with Google on that, either.

Might have to do a factory reset and reroot it. I forgot the method on doing a factory reset. Something about holding a lot of buttons down.. check around, someone will tell you.

Just in case you haven't got it figured out yet. Power off phone. Turn back on and wait for the Lg logo to come on and when the bottom back lights start blinking hold the - volume button and it will go to recovery

Thanks! I didn't figure that out, but I managed to fix her phone (including wi-fi/data and Play Store) by re-flashing the stock ROM with the LGST tool. I remembered holding volume-down when powering up the phone from my HTC phones, but I guess you hold volume-down at a different point in the boot process with LG phones.
